Jungkook and his brothers would always sneak off to climb the walls and observe the knights who were sparring, not just that but they'd what their father teach the new knights and guards. The brothers has always looked up to their father, but of course not everything can be sunshines and rainbows.

Jungkook and his family were fortunate enough to live in the heart of the kingdom, they were not affected by the elemental war as much as the villages who had to relocate. Though of course no matter how safe you can never leave yourself be unguarded. 

The war resulted in many people losing their familes, homes, friends. For him it was his father's ability to walk. His father was a knight who had fought gallantly in the war, due to an unfortunate event during the fights what broke out Jungkook's father lost his legs. He had to be amputated and his father lost his job as a knight. Jungkook's father was a proud man, proud of his job, proud to protect the kingdom his family lives in, but after the event of losing his ability to walk his father fell into a deep depression. He didn't want his sons to pursue the same career, but Jungkook was always stubborn and so when he came of age he took the chance to become a royal guard.
