Born to be a huntsman, Haneul never really had the chance to choose anything. His abusive father would make him like his future, his destiny, no matter if he wanted it or not. This difficult past of his caused him to build up a wall, for protecting himself from the outside world. This wall makes him seem to be cold and arrogant, when in fact, he's just hurt and broken inside. However, there were people who managed to break the wall and get to know the real Haneul. And once he'd shown the real him to the others, they come to describe him as a true friend who isn't able to harm anybody.

Surviving in the castle alone is hard. This is why we have to stay together. Even though we're not quite sure whether we really can trust each other, it is easier not to fight 24/7 and simply be a team. It is not easy to stick together like that and we have to face many difficulties, but time causes us to get closer.

We have met sometime before the ball, and you've immediately caught my eye. Meeting you again was awkward, but now I find myself sticking around you no matter where you go.
