born in Prussia in 1512, Godfrey's mother was a slave brought over from China to the Prussian ruler. She served as well as she could and once became the Duke's secret lover. They met up after dark and had secret meetings until one day she discovered she was pregnant. She fled from the capital to have her baby in secret. A little known family secret was that his father was the Warlock that made the Mortal Cup and the blood was passed down to Godfrey. Once the ruler found out about the baby, he had Godfrey's mother sent to the capital and executed. The son was raised at first as a royal until he was nineteen. He hadn't known about the execution until he overheard some courtwomen discussing it. In a rage, he stormed into his father's bedroom, muttering something under his breath. He wasn't sure what he was muttering except the fact that he felt powerful. When he got into the bedroom, he cast a spell, causing the old man to live the rest of his life alone and unloved.
