Fighting Style;

He doesn't pride himself for his combating skills, but when he fights, Baekhyun prefers efficiency over blatant destruction. He uses speed and close distance to his advantage, usually closing in on the opponent for an attack aimed for their vital point. Trained in the art of instant kills, he usually spends the first few moments of a fight assessing the opponent, checking for any weak spots and visible loopholes. This means dodging hits, learning to use the field around him to its best, and doing what he adores the most--taunting the enemy to learn even more. Once he's attained sufficient information, he'll close in for the kill, usually clean and brief. His light affinity is only used once he deems himself desperate enough, emitting sharp sparks of light that may stun, momentarily blind and paralyze, allowing his advances to be more effective. Sometimes, when he really tries, he can make them see things that weren't really there. He uses Wind admittedly more frequent than his dominant power, slicing the opponent from a distance before moving in when they are weakened. His healing powers are usually used in combat, where he would heal minor scratches that would hamper his movements. Outside of combat, he barely uses it at all, for lack of need.

Personality;

A contradiction. That would probably be one of the ways to describe Byun Baekhyun. He's showy in certain aspects; secretive in some. He likes to twist words around, sometimes taunting people with rhymes and riddles to claw out a reaction from them. Most times, he himself doesn't understand what he's saying. Contrary to his clean style of fighting, he's pretty much a slob in everything else. Almost as if all efficiency and cleanliness are thrown into his combat and weapon handling, leaving nothing left for himself after. He's an avid and quick learner, and somehow always manages to snag a book or two for reading whenever he has the chance.

He takes everything in stride, always keeping a somewhat open expectation over everything, interest and curiosity constantly piqued. He asks a lot of questions, always eager for more, and 'annoying menace' would be the most used term when describing him. Almost to the point of blatantly shameless, he can be blunt in certain aspects, but extremely shy when it comes to others. He digs secrets out like a pest, but never reveals any of his own. Approachable, but never one to trust fully. He never plans anything in advance, stumbling through life and merely taking things as they come.

Baekhyun, however, has a temper that is easily snapped, and he is one to hold petty grudges to an almost childish degree. He has his quirks.

Background;

Always the quirkier one out of two, Baekhyun was raised up to be a story-teller. He would sing of tales of the old gods, of the Fake ones, of Infinity, of creation and Life, stories long past that would have lost all significance, but took shape and life in the form of his voice. And then there was also the effects. Where light would spill from his fingertips as he sang tale after tale, hues of multi-colour following the tale as it progressed. They made more money that way. Him and his brother. His brother was the sicklier of the two, but somehow always managed to use his older status to overpower any decision Baekhyun made. Both of them were made for each other, running around and singing on the streets, charming people with their grins and Baekhyun's voice, joy and excitement bubbling in their chests and exhilaration in their feet as they took off, and that was where their whole life was spent--was supposed to be spent--until one day his brother dropped dead right in front of his eyes.

Baekhyun wasn't surprised--no, he knew it would be soon, because there were signs, and they didn't have a single penny on them, and they weren't accepted into all the sick houses because of their homeless status. And so Baekhyun ended up burying his brother into a small patch of land, with nothing but a small rock as a sign, and wandered off alone. It was one month later when he was caught picking pockets from one of the higher-up's sons (he didn't sing anymore, not when there was nobody to hold his hand and be impressed with him, smile crinkling up at the corner of bright eyes and a proud whisper that only they could hear), that the man took him in. This was where Baekhyun found his thirst for knowledge, and quenched them with his daily spilling over books found in the man's large and endless library, and this was also where he discovered that his powers could be used for something else besides decorations.

The man had interests. And Baekhyun helped him out.

Contract;

A conversation. That's all it took He's always known that this was all leading somewhere. Years and years of being sent on stupid meaningless tasks by the man who took him in, always risky, and always forcing him to force out his powers and use them to fight, whether he wants to or not. It's after years of that and finally having resigned himself to owning a proper set of weapons, urged further by the fact that his master's a slave-driver that simply loved to engage him in surprise attacks and conversations in the middle of them, that Baekhyun finally understands. He understands when one day, he was sent on one of those stupid tasks. He finds himself stuck in a room, in an old abandoned temple, with a voice. And they talked. A simple conversation, almost enjoyable. And even though he didn't see it, but he could tell that the other person was smiling by the end of their talk about wars and battles and strategies. And then: an offer. They are quite similar, apparently. He remembers not missing a beat before answering. And that is, ironically, how Byun Baekhyun who never really had a talent for anything else besides singing on the streets, found himself sponsored by a God. For something that he himself had no idea how he got himself into. Something larger than life. The Milieus.
