JUNG HYERI
don't wish for something you won't finish.

starlight, star bright (2/2 | jongin + soojung | m+f): siblings and students, mentors and friends, her older siblings are the people she holds most dear, confiding in them and listening to their worries with attentive eyes and reassuring arms. she often goes to them for assistance, whether for schoolwork or secrets, and looks to them for their passion and adversity, admiring them with the amazement characteristic of the youngest child - eyes shining with eager admiration, aspiring to one day earn their respect. as she trusts in them, they trust in her and their bond remains unbreakable, tried and true by time, proven stronger by their dedication to each other. hyeri's hopes to shine as brightly, as brilliantly, as long-lasting as them, to twinkle among the stars where their legends already are.

don't forget me (?/1 | ? | m): name scribbled delicately, carefully across notebook pages, hyeri suppresses her emotions in favor of their friendship, choosing smiles and casual conversations over weekend dates and stolen kisses for fear of the alternative. their current relationship is enough, more than enough should her confession slip and he should know, forbidden feelings sworn to secrecy. the love unrequited isn't his preference, instead her choice, denying teasing remarks with a laugh and shake of the head, testing the boundaries of friendship through brushing fingers and playful kisses. despite years of admiration and  moments shared in happiness, sadness, excitement and envy, her love for him is confined to her mind and memory alone, asking only that their friendship never falters - that he'll always remember her in return.

stricken silent (0/1 | year 5+, preferably slytherin | m/f): continual teasing and reckless response was the basis of their relationship, superior in each aspect and ruthless in demonstrating their difference in skill, defeating her with taunting words and a wand poised deliberately, mockingly above her, fingers clenched against the ground as she trembled in embarrassment. despite limitations, she pursues triumph, insisting rematches and countless rounds, best 2 out of 3 until 12 out of 25, hair tousled and wrist sore until she collapses or submits to assertion of dominance, a bemused smirk commending her efforts. she withstands the mockery with pressed lips and retaliates in subsequently careless actions driven by emotion, frustration, tears threatening weakness when she stumbles again, struggling to stand once more. she's determined to succeed and the insults, the bruising spells and wayward blows are endured in silence - pride bruised and beaten on her sleeve, besides a wounded heart that shall never falter.

familiarity breeds contempt (0/1 | m): their young friendship flourished in welcome familiarity and immediate relation, inseparable their initial, innocent years, unsought by romance and hidden away from curious eyes. once, afternoons were sworn to confiding secrets and recalling childhood memories, draped leisurely across each other in comfort uncommon among new friends, estranged through time and foreign affection. as his heart raced at thoughts of her smiles, her own sped at the thought of another's, hands still grasping at each other, even as she sought others, slipping away from shadows of discovery and his open arms, unable to confess his emotions as she so vibrantly shared her own. unrequited, his desires were suppressed in providing for hyeri's, familiarity breeding contempt as she turned an oblivious eye. their younger years forgotten, his compassion created cruelty, estranged by loneliness and memories lacking the warmth of her touch, sides no longer pressed insistently against each other. they no longer hid themselves away, she no longer spared time for conversation, he no longer remained the same awe-struck, imaginative, naive boy, drifting apart through nostalgia and fading understanding. his confession was sudden, intimidating in demand and directness as hyeri shied away, response stuttering rejection and eyes guilty of the disbelief and despair in his own, morale and resolve shattered in three words and increasing distance. "no, i'm sorry." through his love, intentions preceded determination, desperation and domination as thoughts waver between fondness and hostility - love and hate, able now to mend her heart or break it.

jung hyeri

Considering herself a fortunate child, Hyeri was born to a family separate than the one that raised her – her infant years passed in forgotten memories and distinct, fading nostalgia at the touch of her birth mother. A distant memoribilia captured between the pressed pages of a scrapbook, the memory of her birth mother is remembered in pictures and sentimentality alone, adopted into another family at the voluntary propoal by her father. She doesn't blame him for his decision, choosing to open his daughter to opportunities otherwise limited in the human world, or perhaps grief had stricken too deep at the disappearance of his wife and her mother, eyes reflecting the same curiosity that shone brilliantly from her features. Despite the cause, Hyeri was adopted into another family at age 4, name changing from 'Lee' to 'Jung' without concern to her young mind, instead enchanted by her newfound siblings and home, as welcoming as the last. Although it lacked the distinct maternal warmth, she loved her secondary parents no less, her siblings related by emotion for the relationship that lacked in blood. Throughout the years, they grew together under the same household, under the same name, and eventually under the same school, each having received a letter of acceptance to Hogwarts on their 14th birthday. Hyeri was the last to go and missed in the affectionate way parents tend to their youngest child, providing her with necessities and rewarding her each desire, sending her off with teary smiles and words for her siblings. It was the first time she'd ever felt alone, quiet and reserved on the train-ride there, and her expectations rose with her anxiety as she stood among other 1st years. She was disappointed when the Sorting Hat aligned her with Hufflepuff, failing to join her siblings ranks among Gryffindor, and their absence only worried her more. Her first few weeks at Hogwarts were the worst throughout her entire experience yet as she aged, she matured in social skills and emotion, confiding more easily in others and establishing herself as a trustworthy friend and the classroom sweetheart in manners and contagious excitement. She achieved reasonable scores through continual work and constant studying, assisted by her siblings, and she represented the qualities of Hufflepuff in her dedication and compassion, sparing none her smile. Upon her 4th year, she's well-known among her year and her house – loyal as ever, accepting as always.

Embodying the qualities of the Hufflepuff House, Hyeri is characteristically dedicated and loyal to others, accepting and understanding of qualities and attempting to connect despite difference. She's empathetic and attuned to the emotions of those around her, comforting them in familiarity and occasionally causing misunderstanding, still well-intentioned when she attempts for another to smile. Playful yet mature when necessary, she's often disregarded as too young and naive for excellence or superiority despite the efforts she dedicates to her studies. She strives for the same prestige and excellence her siblings have achieved throughout their years at Hogwarts, Jongin as Gryffindor's prefect and Soojung as Gryffindor's head girl, and despite her House, she aims to become a Hufflepuff prefect in her 5th year. Her aspiration is to become a noteworthy witch, one her birth mother and adopted parents would be proud of, one her siblings would consider an equal, and she devotes herself to her studies when not socializing among other students. Although lacking the solemnity and egocentricity associated with superiority, she overcomes her struggle in processing new information, often slow on the uprise but excellent through practiced execution. However, her naivety in practicality and harsher realities of the wizarding and muggle world inhibit her understanding, raised in sheltered idealism throughout her childhood. She's dependent on other's for emotional support as they depend on her, and she's susceptible to weakness through ill will and cruel words. Her sensitivity maintains her humanity and kindness, her motivation to achieve her goals sustains her, and despite lacking the ambition, the intelligence or the cunningness of others, she flourishes in her diligence.
