growing up in a loving and understanding family, nichkhun had always been protected from the dangers in panem under a safe roof. his family never brought up the idea or forced him to join the hg and instead taught him to embrace the power of love, not death. even though he received numerous strange glances and occasional sarcastic remarks due to his kind nature, nichkhun always kept strong to his own morals. but everything fell apart when his family collapsed. he's always been used to having three other siblings chatting away as they watched the hunger games secretly behind his parent's back and when three turned into two, and eventually, one, nichkhun's world broke down. he began to attend an academy in order to enhance his possibilities on being the next victor, revenging the death of his other siblings. by the time he turned seventeen, his mother had passed away due to health issues and his father took away his life as his youngest sister died in the games as one of the three last remaining tributes. nichkhun was heart broken yet proud. from then on, he raised his only surviving sibling, they made a living themselves despite the fact that the horvejkul family officially sunk rock bottom and was discriminated as part of district three. nichkhun and his sister lived as quiet as they can, not once daring to cause trouble among a place where they didn't belong anymore. and when the reaping came, nichkhun didn't hesitate one bit as he volunteered as tribute. leaving his precious sister behind to a close family friend of his and he made his way to the capitol. as a tribute in the hg.

nickhun lives under his pretty mask resembling an angel, despite having a total contrasting personality underneath. although the he himself had always disliked his weak and feminine appearance  he learned to use that as a strategy and bait. khun is a sweet and caring gentleman as much as he tries to deny it and act tough. he is polite, well mannered and ( over ) protective of his loved ones. despite all this, nichkhun won't hesitate one bit to back stab or betray a supposed ally. he has severe trust issues and is courageous enough to the point of fearlessness. khun will do anything in his power to reach the top but he will never let go of his human morals and let go of nichkhun horvejkul himself.

ever since training back in the district and in the tribute's training center, nichkhun has always preferred to use daggers as his weapon of choice. back in district three, the male had often used small, edged and sharp objects to repair electronics as those were what he was skilled in. he likes to be precise and accurate. nichkhun can close range, but the very sight of close contact when he is killing his prey sickens him, so he usually chooses to long distance when he attacks.
