don't be timid, the night is too good to waste
Grew up in the Earth Kingdom, Yoongi, grew up to be a silent kid. He ended up there due to one of the Earth Kingdom's soldier's attempt on revenge and stealing of possessions of the Fire Nation's General, Yoongi's father. He got carried along, too. The soldier's wife decided to take him in. He wasn't told about his true identity as he grew up. But as time flew, he developed skill in firebending. The family feared him and the soldier decided to bring him along for their preparation for the Fire Nation's attack. He was then given as a peace offering, but then caused more rage between the two clans. And during the army's return to the nation, he was then introduced as the genral's son which then led him to be second in command after his father's death.

Yoongi was always the silent type. He prefers to be alone, if not, always stays in his chambers. Despite the short period of time he got to spend with his father, he always felt close to him, and his death lead him to nowhere. It's not primarily the reason why he doesn't speak, but rather part of it is. He was left with no one to talk to after that. With all his reserved time, he uses it to find himself spiritually, but alas he still couldn't find his inner-self. Frustrations lead him to practice more of his bending, improving his skills even if his skills are already above average, he aims to perfect it until he can bend fire like the dragons; Ran and Shaw.
