Description
Lee Donghae; His Story

Past

Donghae never even knew he was an airbender in the first place until his family told him. They weren't even his real family. His real parents were very close friends with a family from the Fire Nation and to save him, gave him to them to take care of. They then died once the Fire Nation started attacking the Air Nomads, leaving him to grow up in the Fire Nation, believing he was in fact part of them as he was only an infant at the time of their death. Growing up his hair grew out, covering his tattoos and whenever he asked his 'parents' about the ones on his arms and legs, they just told him it was an unexplainable phenomena that he can't show anyone except for those inside the family. When Donghae turned 13, his 'father' decided it was time to tell him the truth because he didn't want Donghae to live a lie anymore. Donghae had been told that they were in fact not his parents, but friends of his real parents who had died 13 years before. He also was told about his tattoos and that he was in fact an airbender. Of course he didn't take it lightly, but accepted it, knowing that his foster family only meant the best for him. So while the war raged on, his foster father took it upon him to at least help Donghae with his airbending even though he was a firebender. They trained together in the backyard of the house when the neighbors were gone, but one day the neighbors next door caught them, seeing Donghae with all his tattoos and in fact air bending. After that, his father pulled him into the house ad told him to grab whatever was his. Dongahe didn't know why, only having met the nicest people next door, but did anyways. His father pulled him out of the house and they ran off towards the woods. Then his father pushed inside and told him to run, to run away as far as possible and never come back. He gave the young boy and tight hug and told him how much he loved him before pushing him away. "Go!" was the last word Donghae ever heard come out of his foster father's mouth. And he did run, Donghae ran far into the forest until he reached the middle by the lake he and his foster sister used to fish at and swim in during the summer. He decided to lay down after running so far, desperately wanting to go back to his family but knows his father told him he can't come back. After he closed his eyes, he heard a voice and sat up, seeing a woman floating over top of the lake. She told him she could save him and sensed that the Fire Nation was invading her forest. Donghae listened to her and before even agreeing, both him and her heard the soldiers coming closer and she used her power to save him, by sending him forwards in time by 87 years, present time.
PlOTS and the Present

Present: Now Donghae is living as a 19-year-old boy in a world he is unfamiliar with. He had woken up in the very came forest, only to find it dying, and the lake in the center dried up. Donghae had decided to visit his old home, only to find it the last home standing on a street with the rest of the houses burned down. Inside there are reminders that battle took place, all that's left is a very, very old note that Donghae now carries around with him, living in the small part of the forest by the lake that isn't dead. He's confused, and has only been here for a while, but he knows he still shouldn't let anyone see his tattoos. Actually, he hasn't met anyone since he was transported to this new place.
