Description
SUNGGYU.

PERSONALITY: Sunggyu isn't the most outgoing person. He's a homebody, preferring to stay home and sleep rather than go out. Being Infinite's leader and also managing all his solo appearances on shows is tiring, after all. Sometimes he wishes that he had someone who he could simply cuddle with for hours. Sunggyu is hoping to find a true friend and maybe even fall in love. He is hoping for a strong partner, someone who is sure of themselves and willing to take charge. Being a leader is exhausting for Sunggyu and sometimes he just wants someone else to look after him for a change, a person he can rely on and be himself with. With his group members, he's always expected to be strong, someone they can lean on and look up to, but the truth is that inside he's very unsure and scared. He needs someone who he doesn't have to be perfect for.

HISTORY: Kim Sunggyu was born on April 28th, 1989 in Jeonju, where he grew up with his parents and sister. He was the youngest and only son, so of course he was a mama's boy (something which still holds true today). Not coming from a wealthy background, Sunggyu experienced many hardships while growing up. His family owned a business, but it unfortunately didn't work out. At one point, they couldn't afford to keep a house of their own and were forced to move in with one of his parent's friends. It was a tough time for Sunggyu, but he always tried his best to remain strong for his family.

During high school, Sunggyu joined a band called "Beat" to pursue his passion for rock music. His parents never really warmed up to the idea of him trying to become a singer, telling him that they'd rather he leave home. So, he practiced and performed in secret until he became convinced to follow his dream rather than go to college. Without much money to his name, Sunggyu packed his bags and moved to Seoul.

He lived in gosiwons and worked two part-time jobs (at a meat restaurant and serving in a cafe) in order to pay for food and rent. For someone who'd always been very family-oriented, it was extremely hard for him to adjust to living alone and having to see customers in the restaurant he worked at enjoying a meal with their families. However, it was through his job at the cafe that Sunggyu got his foot in the door of the music industry. A regular customer had asked him one day what sort of music he enjoyed, to which Sunggyu immediately answered "Nell." Fate seemed to be in his favor because it turned out that the man was the very same band's manager. He informed Sunggyu about the company's plan to form a dance group and encouraged him to audition.

Having already been turned down in his auditions for SM Entertainment, Sunggyu was determined to make a lasting impression on Woollim. This was his chance to live his dream AND potentially work in the same company as the band he'd adored for so long. Despite having an aching stomach, the stubborn young man went to his audition and subtly threatened them by saying "If you don't pick me, I'm going to bother you forever." Immediately afterwards, he went to the hospital and had a surprise appendectomy. It was on the day that he was released that he found out that he'd passed the audtion and would become a trainee. Whether it was more because of his threat or talent, he didn't know.

Of course, Sunggyu's life after Infinite's debut is all pretty much forever set in film reel. Sunggyu has been on many variety shows lately in addition to his busy schedule with Infinite, including Running Man, The Sea I Wanted, High Society, The Genius, Infinity Challenge, and Crime Scene all in this year. Trading in the teasing of his dongsaengs for his hyungs and noonas, throughout it all Sunggyu has enjoyed meeting new friends and idols. It has also been a nice way for him to escape the stifling atmosphere of the dorm and being Infinite's leader. While he loves being an idol and his bandmates, it is tiresome for him to always have to worry about his responsibilities.

OOC BLURB

ONE: I will mirror whatever you prefer to write. I will not do one-liners. I can do multi-para, but would prefer not to for the sake of fast replying speed. TWO: Will not use the first person "I" or "my" perspective. IDC if you do, but I will always refer to my character as "he" or his name since I am not my character. THREE: I am 100% fine with extreme plots and . Mpreg is fine, too. FOUR: I'm not picky about how you write or if english is not your first language. I'm also very patient and won't bug you for replies, so don't be afraid to plot/RP with me. FIVE: My timezone is GMT-5/CST. SIX: I don't like throwing my character into a relationship without RPing first and I like if there is a casual build up to romance, instead of like a love at first sight thing. I understand if you think my character is attractive, but don't act like you suddenly love him out of nowhere.
