Mark Tuan
Tuan Yien was in Los Angeles, California. He grew up trained by his parents in all different forms of martial arts, mastering most of them. He liked going by Mark since it was an easier name to roll off the American tongue. Mark left his parents, older sisters, and younger brother when he’d been scouted by a North Korean spy at the age of 16. Being young and stupid, Mark didn’t understand what the country stood for, why it was closed off from the rest of the world. His family was put into a different location by the people who had recruited him, and he wasn’t able to contact them in any way. Mark soon realized that what he was doing was wrong, but he hadn’t gotten the chance to escape until two long years passed. He’d gotten stronger, more capable of fighting and killing.

This made his escape even easier than he’d hoped. He grouped with a few civilians, looking to escape through the Chinese border since the South Korean border was much too guarded. He escaped in the group of 11, and all of them made it safely into China, welcomed by the refugee aide there. Mark spent 6 months in the refugee center before he decided that he no longer wanted to be helpless or useless. He thought about going back to America, but he would have been alone still. Making a new life for himself thanks to the Chinese government, Mark legally changed his name to Mark Tuan– forgetting the name Yien since it’s what he was called in North Korea. He moved to South Korea, missing the use of the language more than anything, and he became a martial arts instructor, teaching young children how to defend themselves and fight.

Mark forgot about his family, forgot about his years in North Korea. When people asked about his past, he lied. He called himself an orphan because that’s what it felt like he was. A person with no past and no one to call home. However, he converted himself back into his old self: a playful young man who tried to make other people smile. Though it was mostly a mask, he figured he should help people smile since he spent 2 years helping to make lives miserable.

OOC CORNER:

- EST / GMT-5
- I'm a pretty fast replier. If I missed something, just PM me a nice reminder.
- I like RPing with the flow (no plotting, letting the characters go how they'd like), but if you prefer plotting then that's perfectly fine with me. Just PM me and let me know.
- I am going to be 3rd POV all of the time, but I don't mind if you're not.
- I do mind one liners. I'm putting in the effort, so you should to.
- Take your time with replies. We all have lives outside of this. I don't mind.
- Let's stay in character, shall we? Please don't take anything Minjun does to heart because it's all IC.

PLOTS [more to come later]

001. Made in America | Available [1 spot] | friendship, possible angst

Mark knew this man when he was in LA, and they'd gone to the samee school. They were never close friends, but they knew of each other. Now that Mark is in Korea, no trace of him left in America, the man recognizes him and questions him about where he went, why he left, and why he didn't tell anyone of his departure. The only thing Mark can do is lies, unless he gets caught eventually.

002. Third Time's The Charm | Taken by Daehyun | romance, , friendship

The man that Mark first became aquainted with when he arrived in Seoul. They'd become good friends, then they dated. The relationship ended when Mark refused to tell the man about his past. They were distant, but they ran into each other again. The same attraction was felt, and they ended up in Mark's bed. They tried being together for a second time, but this time Mark broke it off when he realized that he had to keep lying about his past to the man. They remained friends this time, and now the man and Mark end up sharing a night together after a few late-night movies. Will they try again or leave things at ?

003. Trapped | Available [1 spot] | , angst

Mark and this man have been annoying each other since they met. Both are irritated even by just the presence of each other. However, when the two of them get stuck in an elevator together, what could happen?
