background
Tsukimori Keisuke, born in the city of angels to Japanese immigrants, is the poster child for familial neglect and poverty in a home that lacked warmth and security. Poor and scrawny, Keisuke never had enough food in his stomach, new toys to play with, or even cake on his birthday. He knew nothing but the sounds of muffled sobbing and endless nights of fear. The abuse begins when he's seven. First, it's his mother. Then, when he learned to block hits for her with his tiny body, Keisuke becomes the target of his father's violent, intoxicated outbursts. He's seven when the foundations of his tattered family breaks under the weight of drunken violence and propels them down the deep, dark pits of hell and the edge of insanity.

He wakes, groggy and feverish, and stumbles upon the scene in the living room: a messy spray of red coats the off-white walls, haunting and empty eyes connect with his, and his father's heaving body. He's ten when he scrambles for the front door and runs for his life, his own deranged father following behind bloody knife in hand and a crazed look on his face. Misfortune trips and corners him in a dirty back alley in a gang riddled neighborhood and Keisuke suddenly finds himself praying to whatever higher power that exists to spare him—promising to do whatever it takes if it meant he could live. God answers him in the form of a suited man, a gunshot, and total darkness.

When he wakes, he finds himself in a nice bed, clean sheets, and a room he has never seen before. Suddenly afraid, Keisuke does nothing but wallow in anticipation for who he thinks is his savior. Seconds later, the door opens quietly to the same man he saw bathed in dim streetlights before he passed out and thanks him for saving his life. He begins to ask about his father to whom the man interrupts and tells him he will never have to fear him again. Deep down, Keisuke knows it's a nicer way of saying his father is dead, but he doesn't ask for details. With the scene of his mother's brutal murder in mind, he bows his head deeply and pledges his life to his savior. The man introduces himself as Saito Takuya and offers him a chance at a new life and a new identity. Keisuke takes it. From that moment on, Tsukimori Keisuke ceased to exist. Saito Ryu takes his place as adopted son of Saito Takuya, right hand man to one of the most powerful businessmen in Japan.

Now at eighteen, Ryu is proficient in hand-to-hand combat and capable of handling weaponry. Coupled with stamina, agility, and a keen sense of sight and intuition, Ryu makes a formidable enemy (or ally) in this brutal game of survival. Ryu is a calculating young man and harbors immense trust issues and, thus, will not forge alliances with people out of the blue unless their loyalty is proven. He will always attack when threatened and won't ever go into a fight without going all out. Beware of his sadistic and vindictive tendencies as he is someone who does not handle betrayal well. Apathetic in most circumstances, he is oddly possessive over Amagi Yuko. Harm her and Ryu will drop all control and show you the savage he keeps hidden behind a wavering psychosis.

While it seems as though Ryu doesn't have many weaknesses (aside from Yuko), his arrogance is a major flaw. He also lacks proper emotional understanding. Symptoms of his disorder manifested during puberty and having refused proper psychiatric treatment, Ryu still suffers from both an inability to process and express emotions and inadequate understanding of other's emotions. Because of his mental condition, Ryu has rarely been in healthy, romantic relationships. However, it is only after years of constant therapy and interactions with people will a real relationship develop. (Hence, his seeming closeness with Amagi Yuko, having been with her since he was adopted by Saito Takuya.) However, even with constant therapy as well as medication and support, Ryu is susceptible to random outbursts of the disease. For example, it may be all happy-go-lucky one day. But the next, he may display narcissistic rage, become over-controlling, extremely irritable, and become distrustful towards people he normally cares for. Outbursts such as these can last from a duration of a few minutes, several hours and even days. During which those who interact with him should be cautious and be wary of provoking him. Ryu prefers to suffer in solitude and has tendencies to isolate himself to meditate and regain control of himself. So far, the only person capable of approaching Ryu with little to no resistance is Yuko.

I am primarily multi-para and novella writer. Though, I usually mirror the style you give me. I do not, however, mirror your length all the time. I don't expect you to either. But if you give me something that is obviously half-assed, I'll return the favor.

Plotting isn't really a necessity as I am all for winging, but is very much appreciated if you want to roleplay something extensive and in depth. Plotting takes two. Nothing annoys me more than being the one to think of everything with little or no contribution from the other person. If you're not feeling my plot idea(s), please don't be afraid to tell me. That's what brainstorming is for.

Feel free to poke me if I take more than a week to reply. I'm not likely to reply at the speed of light (if ever), but if you feel like I might've missed your reply, please ask me nicely. Chances are, I did miss it if it's been ten days and I haven't replied to you. If you're unsure whether I have replied or I'm waiting for a reply from you, please take a look at my roleplay tracker.
