Personal Message

Okay, finally. This girl I'm with - Rebecca, she had like a thousand of these notebooks, but she wouldn't give any to me? Can you believe that? I mean, geez, sharing is caring. Anyway, today she finally gave me one - or she threw it at me, but now I have a notebook, so it's all good.

Alright, so first, I'd just like to say, Dad, and Daniela and Perry, I miss all of you guys. Luckily, you're in a better place now, and don't have to be around these zombies. And Mom, and Laura, I hope you guys are doing all right. Just wanted to remind you two of something: always try to make the best of your situation. It makes life a lot easier, trust me.

Okay, that last part was a bit depressing, so how about we lighten up the mood? I'll write down any jokes that come to mind while I have this notebook.

Joke number one: What do you call a bagel that can fly? A plain bagel. (Some jerk broke my pencil so I have to use a pen now)

Joke number two: Why does Snoop Dogg carry an umbrella? Fo' drizzle.

Joke number three: What did the fish say when he hit the wall? "ı̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̨Dam" (Sorry for the pen mark, there are bandits trying to kill me. I probably shouldn't be doing this right now)

I've come to the conclusion that writing jokes during a bandit raid probably isn't the best idea. And that's because somebody stole my notebook and I only have this page left now, and it's about to run out. Oh well. I'll find another one eventually, right? I'll talk to you guys later.

Sincerely,

Erik

Back Story:

Living in a zombie apocalypse, all Erik wants to do is make the best of life. He's moved on from the sad things - like his father dying after being eaten by a hoard of zombies, or his two sisters, Daniela and Perry, dying from their zombie bites before anybody knew how to stop it. He likes to focus on the bright side of life, although it's pretty hard being surrounded by all of this negativity.

Growing up, Erik lived in a bad neighbourhood. He grew up knowing some people and doing some things that he knew he shouldn't. He learned how to fight, how to shoot, how to kill - but it's not like he ever had to actually use those skills, except for in video games.

The first time he did use those skills was during the first week of the zombie apocalypse - his first kill. Class ended early because the professor wasn't feeling too well. When Erik went outside to his car, he saw the professor - well, not really the professor - but a zombie-like creature that looked exactly like the professor. His gun came out as soon as the professor lunged for him. At first he thought it was just one of those stupid youtubers pulling some sort of a sick joke, but it was real. This was his life now.

After his father and his two sisters died, he was separated from his mother and his youngest sister. They had come across a safe house - but they were only accepting 2 people at a time. So he let them go. He was experienced enough on his own,  plus they kept bringing him down with "we're gonna die soon" and "we won't make it to next week" etc etc etc.

Some people just need a little positivity in their life. That's what Erik is there for. He'll make sure to cheer people up when they're down and try to encourage them to do their best or keep them hopeful.
