We finally reached the Costco, and we met other people there. Honestly, this place is awesome! Well, not as awesome as my house, but still. There's food and stuff, which is nice. Plus I still have my 3DS to play with.

I tried to be friends with that other girl, Jayden, I think? Honestly, I don't think she likes me, which is REALLY weird. Everybody likes me! Even the adults do. What am I doing wrong? I even brought her some flowers, but she just left without taking them. I mean, honestly, I understand it's no iPhone 6, but come on. The flowers were only a little bit dead.

Today is Halloween. My mom already had my costume hand sewn by our tailor a few months ago - I was going to go as Link. Oh well. Honestly, I don't even like Halloween that much.

My 3DS broke. Honestly, there's no point to life anymore. :(

I lost my journal for a few days, but I found it today in Jada's (her name is Jada, not Jayden, oops) stuff. I asked her why she had it, and she said it must've been put there by accident. Honestly, I think she took it. But we're friends - at least I think so - she would never do that on purpose, right? Unless... oh. She honestly doesn't like me.

Guess whose birthday it is in exactly one month? Mine. But honestly, I'm not that excited for it. It would be nicer if I could be with my mom and my sister, but instead stuck here with these... wonderful people, I guess.

Okay, okay, honestly, I lied. I'm so excited. I'm gonna be 13 years old. 1. 3. That'll make me, like... the fourth oldest person here. ...Which I already was.

Never mind.

Training hurts. A lot.

I'm 13 years old, basically one of the adults now. I didn't get any presents though. Mr.Tucker is probably just waiting for Christmas or something.

Mr.Tucker is the best! He got my 3DS working again somehow. And Jayden  sorry, Jada, drew a picture of me. Honestly, it's not how I pictured Christmas, but I guess it's ok.

Back Story:

Growing up was pretty easy for Jacob. He got everything he ever asked for; if he wanted a Wii, then he'd get a Wii. If he wanted a phone, or the album of his favourite band, Scarecrow Boat, then he'd get that too. It helped that his mother owned a huge company, and they were pretty rich. He had all of the friends he could ever ask for (if they really were his friends, Jacob was never sure of whether they were just his friends for the money or because they actually liked him) and his life with his mother and his sister were pretty much perfect. He never fully understood the meaning of the phrase, "money can't buy you happiness", that is, until the zombie apocalypse began.

He was at some sort of gala with his sister and mother, but wasn't really paying attention to what was happening. Jacob would just play his 3DS during boring things like this, and this time, he was playing Mario Kart 7. Then he heard screaming, and ignored it, thinking it was just some drunk person. There was always one of those at events like these. But then more and more people started screaming, and he looked around, seeing people beginning to get worried. Jacob got up from his seat to look for his mother, but saw something much worse instead. There was a woman laying on the floor, with blood pouring everywhere. It wasn't his mother, but it was one of her friends. He stepped closer, to reach out and see what was wrong, but pulled back his hand when he saw the zombie. An actual real life zombie. It was eating out her stomach. He stood there, paralyzed with fear, until a man pushed him out of the way and told him to run towards the doors on the other side of the room.

But that didn't get him to leave too quickly. "Mom? Mom?! Anna?!" he called out, but nobody answered. There was too much noise, and he was being pushed closer and closer to the doors, people urging him to get out. Eventually, he followed them, hoping that he'd be able to use his phone to call his mother later. But as soon as he reached outside, he remembered that he didn't bring his phone with him. Great.

He walked with the group he was with for a few more days. Jacob considered using a bus to get back home, but no buses were running, and according to a man who was leading them, money was "obsolete" now, whatever that meant. They were running out of food now, and people were starting to get hungry. And then Jacob saw the Costco. He still isn't sure of whether that was the best or the worst thing to happen to him in life.

Jacob alerted his group of the Costco, and they walked towards it, only to be met with another group of people when they reached it. A man, his name was Raymond, said that he owned the Costco, and was willing to let Jacob's group in, seeing as there was only six people. At the time, Jacob thought Raymond was the best thing to happen to them. Now, he wouldn't be so quick to say that.

The bandits provided them with food, water, shelter, and clothes, but it was nothing like what Jacob used to have. He wished he could go back to living that life. He still didn't even know where his mother and sister were.

After a few weeks, Jacob began to notice something weird. During training sessions (he and Jada were trained on how to kill Walkers - or humans, if necessary. He tried to be friends with her, but he had the feeling she didn't really like him.), Raymond would pull out one of the adults he travelled to the Costco with, and go out into the field. After a few minutes, only Raymond would return, telling Jacob that the other person decided to "leave" their group. Jacob didn't catch on until he was the only one from his group left.

He thought he would be the next one to die, but surprisingly, he wasn't. Raymond, Eden, and Annette kept training him, but he noticed that their methods were a bit... extreme. Honestly, Jacob didn't really want to be aligned with these people, because they were a bit scary(considering they had probably murdered all of the people in his group), but as long as he could eventually learn how to kill a Walker on his own, and find his mother and his sister. They promised him they would do that, so he's holding them to that promise.
