Addiction : a confidant with benefits kind of thing, could blossom into more. Their relationship is complicated. Maybe they were introduced while he was still with / getting over his first love. They were reintroduced later by a friend who thought a foreign girl on his arm would be like a feather in his cap at events, and she stuck around.
