Description
BACKGROUND
Yerim, or Yeri, was raised without a father. The man, a detective for the Seoul police was killed for becoming involved in a large political scandal and to keep his mouth shut he was murdered. His killer was only found after Yeri was born and already a year old, and was soon prosecuted. Yeri only learned all this at the age of 15, when her mother thought she was old enough to know why her father wasn't there.
When Yeri was 5 her mother began taking them on vacations to the U.S., at the time Yeri didn't know but her mother was actually going for her job, overseeing overseas business transactions and relations. On her ninth birthday, Yeri officially moved to the U.S., her mother having gotten a secure job in the American company.
Yeri seemed to flourish in the U.S. She made friends with ease, learned English quickly and very soon became 'Americanized' . She grew up well and beautiful, exceeding in school and living a leisurely life. She was a cheerleader in High school, an honor roll student and finished in class as one of the top ten students. Over the years she spent many summers in Australia with her mother and would often visit her home in Seoul on school breaks. Her mother became successful, quickly going up from secretary status to CEO and took care of her daughter, never forgetting her no matter how much work she had.
In the summer before her senior year, her mother had supported her going to a good school in the U.S. and Yeri had her heart set on Stanford. However, halfway through her Senior year, her mother started to become weary and weak, Yeri thought it was simply due to too much stress from work, but her mother requested that she go back to their home country and that she attend Seoul University. Yeri had fought with her at first not understanding why she suddenly changed her mind. She understood later however when her mother collapsed suddenly in the middle of their home. She had brain cancer. Her mother wanted her to go back to Korea, where her mom had many friends that were like family and would care for her if she ever needed anything.
Yeri recently moved back to Seoul at the age of 18, a month after her mother died. She inherited everything, becoming a millionaire over night. After resolving issues with transferring her mother back to Korea so she could let her rest next to her father like she knew she would have wanted, she finally returned to Seoul. She was accepted into the university, got an apartment and found a job. Her goal was to own her own money instead of relying on what her mother left her. She's taking classes to become a heart doctor as well as get a degree in business. Her mother's company in the U.S., now hers, was left to be ran by a trusted friend of her mother's and she would return when she was prepared if she so wished, being the rightful heir.

WHO SHE IS
After her mother died, Yerim had never felt so alone. She cries often when she's alone and her behavior has changed from what it used to be. She's become more reckless, less positive and optimistic, though she still tries to be, however she seems to be making mistakes constantly. She misses affection and having someone around her who loved her unconditionally. She still smiles and her happiness is genuine, but she's still lonely.
Many nights, she spends her time reading comic books and watching dramas. She loves romance dramas and supernatural beings, her favorites are the vampire and the grim reaper. When she doesn't feel like sitting around, she goes swimming or if she's having a bad day, she goes dancing to lose herself.
She can come off as rude occasionally having forgotten proper Korean manners from being in the U.S. for so long. Even though she's only been in Korea for a few weeks, she'll still admit that she already misses the U.S.
