If asked about his past Kouyou would answer straight-forward by saying it's 'uninteresting' and 'typical'. He's not the type to say where he came from besides the depths of Tokyo but he doesn't say anything about his parents or childhood simply because it remains to be a secret to anyone that he knows, a way of keeping a distance from people who wish to know everything about him. Rumors are that his parents were artists and that is why he's a body painter and or artist himself but none of the rumors have been confirmed. Being the secret type Kouyou doesn't share any of his past stories besides the little things you hear when he talked about his birth place, Japan.

Kouyou has his positive and negative traits as anyone else. His negative traits happen to be many including being aloof, not quite friendly or forthcoming; cool and distant. Kouyou is also blunt and straight-forward when he expresses himself, instead of using courteous words and humble phrases he speaks what comes to his mind without thinking about it, simply a habit he hasn't dropped since he was a young teen. The body painter loses muse quite often when it comes down to his interests, moving from thing to thing and sometimes people or friends. The problem lies with the fact that the only thing that keeps Kouyou merely passionate is something that he's passionate about such as body art, simply art in general. Kouyou has a simple mind and most importantly he's aware of what he knows and what he doesn't however his temper is rather large and he hates to be criticized, corrected and talked back to. Those who are lucky enough to know Kouyou know that his feet speak louder than his voice.
