Miyavi knows very little about his childhood, only flashes of blood and tears and terrifying darkness. His doctors concluded he was locked up in a basement for years, suffering much abuse--physical, ual, and emotional. During that time he retreated into his own world, and met his only friend-- Kai

The doctors say Kai isn't real, but I don't believe them. I see him everyday. He's everywhere, he's even my doctors. How funny is that? He's my doctor and he's telling me he doesn't exist. I'm the one who gave him the name Kai--it's cute isn't it?-- his real name is Yutaka. He gave me the name Miyavi. I love Kai so much--oh hey, is that you Kai?

When he sees you, he's not seeing you. He sees Kai, the made up character from his head. He works as a busker, but he was and is very easy to take advantege of. Just ask him for money, , whatever, and he'll happily do it for his "Taka." He's very very energetic, and if you don't keep an eye on him he'll be gone in the blink of an eye. Despite his cheery attitude, if you press an issue, such as Kai not being real, and he'll get dark real quick, to the point of being suicidal.
