JUNG HANA

Jung Hana  Zinger  2nd February 1990  District Seven  Axe

... Birth name: Jung Hana
..Nickname: Zinger
... Birth date: 2nd February 1990
..District: Seven
... Weapon of choice: Axe - having grown up in District Seven,
it is no surprise that Zinger's chosen weapon and the one she
is strongest in is the axe. Although Zinger can comfortably
swing around a large axe in her hands, she would prefer
a throwing axe as she would consider herself quicker and
more agile with such a weapon.

Description

..Strengths:
>> agility  ♥  with her small height and flexibility, Zinger is fast on her feet.
Having climbed trees all her childhood, strength in her muscles - especially her
legs - has made her a fast runner and being small has provided her with the
fortunate ability to be able to squeeze into small places.

>> climbing  ♥ being brought up in district seven has it's advantages. If
there was any place that Zinger played at as a child, it was in the trees. As well
as building her ability to climb, even in the most difficult of places - for Zinger would challenge herself to climb taller and trickier trees as she grew older - climbing trees has boosted her agility and her flexibility.

>> quick thinking  ♥ being a quick thinker was a trait Zinger's father was known as and she has inherited it from him. Despite appearing to be a little ditzy at first, Zinger is really quite intelligent and she nurtured this in her father's secret library - which was a cupboard filled with books upon books upon books. Having this bright mind and fast thinking allows her to be able to come up with ideas quickly, especially for survival, even if they sound ludicrous.

... Weaknesses:
>> strength ♥  despite being able to weild a heavy weapon like an axe, Zinger isn't the strongest tribute around. Although tree climbing built up her muscles in her legs, her arms are far less strong in substance. She can pick up an axe and throw it at someone but that doesn't mean she's necessarily fast at it. Her lack of physical strength hinders her in battle and leaves her weak against any face to face enemies.

>> stamina ♥ no matter how hard she may try, Zinger's stamina is a hinderance for her and it is hard for her to continue fighting or training without constant breaks. She has an energetic personality but when it comes to rigorous physical movement and contact, her energy runs out quickly. It is simply something that she has never grown out of, despite any amount of training.

>> fears ♥ her fear of the dark and her claustraphobia developed from her childhood. Having two older brothers who was a part of her growing up and, no matter how much she may have admired them, they got on her nerves constantly. At the age of eight, her brothers decided to play a game with her which ultimately resulted in her being locked in their father's small store house in the dark. The only thing that calmed her fears was the relaxing sent of mossy wood logs that reminded her of her Father. After that experience, she has never been comfortable with small spaces or the dark.

... Personality: Zinger is bubbly and lively and always has a bright smile on her face. She doesn't stop moving until she's out of breath - which happens often because of her low stamina - but this doesn't stop her. Having a bright outlook on life has always been a priority for her. There is no doubt about her optimism.
She's a bit of a dork but this doesn't mean she's not intelligent. In fact, her quick thinking is something she is really proud of as it is something she knows she inherited from her father.

If there is anyone that can brighten your day,
it is Jung Hana.

... Background: Zinger had a cheerful childhood and she adored her father to pieces. He was a kind man with endearing smile creases at the sides of his eyes and an intelligent word on his lips. She grew up with both her parents and two older brothers that would constantly but that she still loved and admired.

Being the youngest of three siblings, she was always watching when her father would teach her brothers how to cut down trees - she would always be hiding up in the branches above them, watching with admiration and jealously at how her brothers got to learn how to wield an axe from her beloved father.

One of Zinger's most cherished memories is when, one early morning, when the dew was still on the grass and the sun was barely rising, her father woke her up with a gentle smile and took her outside. He told her how he had seen her from the tops of the trees, watching when he taught her brothers to chop down the trees and, even though her mother wouldn't approve, he would teach her as well, in secret. Zinger was so happy when she found out and she was so eager to learn.

Ultimately, her brothers started work quite young alongside their father to earn money for the family.

Inside her family home, there was a secret library of old books that belonged to her father. Zinger relished that small cupboard-room and spent half of her time there and half of her time outside, in the trees.

However, one morning, Zinger was awoken with a loud bang and a series of shouting voices. Peacekeepers had been given word to send a raid into their house after hearing word of him harbouring books and documents that spoke about the rebellion before the Hunger Games began, of district 13, and of the dictatoring nature of the country they lived in. Zinger's father was branded a traitor and all documents he had hoarded were taken away and destroyed. He was ultimately captured and arrested, and to this day, Zinger still does not know where he is.

Was he executed? Or did he become an avox? She doesn't know. But the small, ancient book - one which was falling apart - entitled Utopia by Sir Thomas Moore that Zinger had hidden in her room when the raiders came, and the relaxing smell of mossy, wet wood keeps her father's memory close to her heart.
