KOICHI. 23 | DURUS | CIVILIAN / TAROT CARD READER   

ABOUT. Space was all he knew and all he needed. Endlessly floating, the ship was home to many since its departure from earth, generations born into their own personal cage- and hideout. Koichi didn’t need more than that. Air to breathe and his loved ones, namely his parents, around. They were an odd couple from the start, his mom and dad. The father, a serious office worker. The mother involved with the occult. Accordingly, he was raised with both proven facts and a bond to the supernatural. Not always has this been a blessing. He used to get picked on for his girly hair color and ‘crazy’ mother, which earned him the fitting nickname ‘witch’ over time. While he hated it back then, he now sees it as more of a title to wear. Even though the times of child’s quarrels are long over, Koichi has not lost any of his way too big pride, and will put up a good (cat)fight if needed. Scratching and biting included.

Beside his mother’s rather eccentric appearance, he shares most of her interests, foremost in astrology. However, he believes her glass-looking to be a pile of crap and reads tarot cards instead. In a way, he continues her practice even after her mysterious death. But while he would love to own a small occult shop one day, Koichi wants to earn better money than that. His future is by far not set in stone, and for now, his father’s earnings have been enough to provide for them both. Card reading is his favourite thing to pass time and earn a bit of extra cash. He intends to settle soon enough, considering Home as an incredible option. At that point, he’d realized that his perfect life on the ship had left a gaping hole. Everything reminds him of a lost beloved.

Koichi doesn’t care about the quarrel between the four clans much, as long as it doesn’t concern him. In his eyes, the Acies are just a bunch of battle-hungry idiots, while he believes Coma to be too naïve for this world. The only ones he somewhat puts on par with Durus are the Dulcedo for the marvellous front they keep up.

Personality wise, he’s a rather obstinate. Vain, if not arrogant, he wouldn’t stand for anyone to see his bare face. If he wants something, he can be a bit of a diva. Koichi displays his moodiness most of the time, but he knows when to get his act together and has a soft spot for people he considers cute. He’s likely to act nice around them, and by far softer than his stupid pride allows him to show. Plus, he has the secret talent to create awkward situations for himself.
