 It’s a University au intermixed with a Harry Potter au, and since it’s an original idea, it is realized that the folklore tied to Filotimo is something to be learned and adapted to as we go along, together. New houses, different ages, university setting, a new schooling system, etc. We ask that all normal, mundane rp rules are abided by. No facechasing or ooc drama, , ia, etc etc. For your application, all you need to provide is your background. Consider this a writing sample for it should be more than five sentences. If you would like to add an element to your character that isn’t provided and you are familiar with the Harry Potter world and it’s boundaries, you may do so. Such as having them be an Animagi, or a werewolf. We encourage creative and character freedom here, as long as it abides by a normal ethical and moral code while coinciding with the limits of the Harry Potter World.

In a remote village on ibiza, filotimo is hidden on the craggy mount, shielded against the muggle eye. a new wizarding school is up and coming, serving a rather deviated sect of the world ’s witches and wizards. It is a time of racially charged motives and actions, both in and out of the magical realm. Any child who carries even a drop of muggle blood would not be permitted to attend any other wizarding schools without heavy persecution from the founding families or current attendees. Instead, a powerful witch arose from her Phoenix ashes, breaking away from the persecution of her people, to establish a safe haven where children of muggle-born and half-blood ancestry could train to be not just as powerful—but more powerful than their persecutors. This wizarding school—which goes by the name of “Filotimo School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” was established far before the first wizarding war.

Filotimo has four houses of which students are sorted into via the house Horned Serpent, who has served as a guardian since its conception. The houses consist of : Strixtalon, Bristlebane, Moonember, and Everoak. In attribute to it’s homeland, each house’s representative is of Ancient Greek lore descent. They’re Chimera, Pegasus, Hypocampus, and and Ophiotaurus respectively. To learn more about the houses, click here.



At Filotimo, students undertake a rigorous curriculum centered around concentrated use of power and the importance of defensive offense. The curriculum supports a twelve year program with it’s sister-school Nepenthe. Nepenthe is the beginner’s school, where the tradition remains that students start at the age of twelve, and once they complete their sixth year around their eighteenth birthday, they move on to Filotimo to pursue their higher education for an additional six years.

There are four main areas of study that students can choose to focus on directly when they reach Filotimo; Potions, Divination, Transfiguration, and Charms. The password is Triwizard. Additionally, students may choose to focus on one minor in tandem with their major. Minors include : Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Flying, Arithmancy, Ancient Runes, and the History of Magic.
Filotimo also offers specialized tracks for those who know what kind of careers they’re interested in. As of currently, there are seven tracks: Teaching, Dragonologist, Auror, Mediwizard, Curse-Breaker, Potioneer, and Wandmaker. To learn more about the curriculum and career tracks, click here.
