Lifetimes ago, Earth became uninhabitable and humans were forced to venture into uncharted space. To serve as a waypoint between their colonies, they created the space station Teccypso which orbits somewhere between Mars and Jupiter. For centuries, it has been a strategic point for trade and has become a melting pot of alien races and beliefs. Of course, floating on the equivalent of a metal can with vastly different people isn't exactly paradise. Racial tensions, socioeconomic disparity, opposing factions, and the reality that you are just one disaster away from the deadly vacuum of space can complicate things. But like a star's light, shining great distances even after it has burned out, we endure.
event horizon /əˈvent,ēˈvent həˈrīzən/ The invisible boundary around a black hole past which nothing can escape the gravitational pull - not even light.
Event Horizon is a sci-fi AU roleplay that is set in the far future, on a space station inhabited by multiple different aliens and humans. We are aiming for a self-paced, plot driven vibe and there will occasionally be plot centric events which everyone is welcome to participate in that may change the course of the roleplay's story!

this is a mature rp. you must be 20+ OOC to join. Your faceclaims and characters must also be 20+.

All ethnicities and orientations will be accepted, since it obviously doesn't make sense to limit things with there being legit aliens involved.
activity rules
001
inactivity is 2 weeks. we aim to be relatively self paced. there is a data log room which may be used for journal entries or oneshots while waiting for partners to reply or to help boost muse.

you will receive a warning in PM for inactivity. that way everyone can keep their walls nice and pretty.

must have a profile picture and a basic profile up within 48 hours of acceptance.

once your first two weeks are up, you may have your character consider dating and request a personal room. if you've gotten this far, the word you're looking for is nebula.

a hiatus is three weeks. You may PM the admin to request one. you will receive a message from the admin when your hiatus is up and you must reply within 24 hours or you will be removed from the roleplay. this is to prevent character hogging.

THREE CHARACTER LIMIT. you may request a second immediately, but a third will need a total of 300 points collectively.

MAKE SURE TO VIEW THE TAKEN FACECLAIMS ROOM BEFORE YOU RESERVE. THIS ROLEPLAY USES FACECLAIMS, MEANING YOU are encouraged TO COME UP WITH A DIFFERENT NAME FOR YOUR CHARACTER, but we will not force you to. if you need help with coming up with a name, there are many fantasy scifi name generators you can find on the internet.

There are premade alien race skeletons which you will find here that writers can choose from, but you are also welcome to create your own unique ones. just send a description in with your application.

pregnancy is allowed for any race and gender. partners must group message an admin for approval. however, we do not allow playable kid characters.

since this is a mature RP, I'M NOT HERE TO POLICE YOUR mature content. keep it in mature rated rooms or in private. BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER PLAYERS AND UNDERSTAND THAT THEY MIGHT NOT BE COMFORTABLE WITH CERTAIN CONTENT. EXTREME PLOTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE AGREED UPON BY BOTH PARTIES. trigger warners on posts are a courtesy, but not an expectation.
