hell's point
hell's point
they say this little area in the forest is the entry point to hell, which is why it's given the name "hell's point". if people are brave enough to wander towards this place at night, they often choose to stargaze due to the perfect view of the starry night sky. it's funny how this is the legendary entryway to the underworld as told in the myths yet it's also the most beautiful spot within the city borders.

@kim jongin ♜ Leviathan's breath hitched in at the other's answer. He talked as if he knew her well — too well, she supposed, and the ache on the back of her head didn't stop. It throbbed to a rhythmic beat, as though it was trying to coax her into asking; into giving in to her curiosity that she had long stepped on, deep within the back of her mind. She had all the rights in the world to ask, to know more about a past that she was aware had been sealed off, but there was a part of her that stopped her from opening every time she thought of it, and she couldn't exactly determine what /that/ was.

(Was it fear of the unknown? Or was it sonething else?

Nonsense, she would claim. She was Leviathan. She was /never/ afraid.)

"Is that so," she decided to say instead. "I see. That makes sense." She couldn't pry more than that.

Her cheery smile morphed into one of amusement, the way the demon's eyes closed in what seemed to be a light pleasure not lost on her. It was quite satisfying to know that she had this effect, even if it was due to the sensitivity of his wings. She blinked in slight surprise, when he pulled her closer, her chest pressed to his, and while normally, she would have already backed away from their distance — or lack thereof — but his body was a familiarity, and she found a weird sense of comfort (was that the word? She wasn't sure) in his warmth. Her hand trailed from his wing down to his waist, and she leaned much of her weight against him. With their closeness, she could see his features more clearly.

His candescent eyes bore into hers, and she couldn't find it in herself to look away. It felt as though his gaze held her in place — she couldn't resist.

"A long life could be too boring sometimes," she said, regaining a bit of her composure, as nonchalantly as she could while her breathing started to slow down. Deep and slow. "Humans could be quite good at entertainment — if you pick the right ones, that is."

She could feel his breath mixing with her own, and as she felt him move his finger along her jawline, her lips parted, in anticipation for something she wasn't even aware she wanted. What was it that drew her so closely to him? Was it a past that she still refused to accept? Or was it something else that she continued to deny? It was — it was galling, having to feel the same confusion humans would, but that irritation quickly got swept into the back of her mind when he spoke.

"I would love to," she found herself saying, almost a whisper, and a corner of her lips moved up, "but this doesn't seem to be the place for it, don't you think?"

@park sooyoung ♜ It was the when Lucifuge confirmed she had no memories of him. Something within him went aflame, like a match does to the wick of a candle. Rage swelled in him, but it wasn't directed towards Leviathan. More so at the cause of her loss of memories. Heaven had always felt what they did was the best for everyone. This world would be destroyed, anyways, and humans were even helping the downfall of it. He would've gladly helped her in retrieving them, but he couldn't if she didn't want to, no matter how hurtful it was for her to see him as a stranger.

He couldn't see her hands grazing against his horns, but the tactile sense was all there. His breaths same out slightly heavier with her firm grip on them, studying her features as she spoke. "No, serpents don't have horns. You have never had them," he said quietly, the pouring water from the sky almost drowning out his words.

She was too curious, he thought. Lucifuge wouldn't say it out loud, but he was relieved that it was with him that she could satiate her curiosity. The thought of it being with another didn't settle well on him, especially with the bond they shared like no other. It was when his back hit the trunk of the tree behind did the tiniest of a smirk begin to tug at the corner of his lips.

Her dark hair clung to the sides of her face, slightly drenched from the rain that managed to slip between the cracks of the branches above. The scales seemed to glow under the flashes of lightning that would taint the dark sky. He was captivated, and even more so when she smiled so purely.

"Have they now? And how would they know that?" He asked, eyes slanted upon the curious touches on his wings. A shiver ran up his spine, orbs disappearing under his eyelids briefly before he fluttered them open again. A hand went to wrap around her wrist, the one that spread on his torso, and he pulled her forward until he could feel the heat from her body against his own.

Watching a stray droplet run down her cheekbone until it held onto her jawline, the demon brought a hand to her jaw, dragging a fingertip along the bone until he wiped the droplet off. He glanced back at her eyes, trying to gauge her reaction. "I'm always interested in experiments. Why don't you do just that and test their theory on me?" He spoke lowly.

@kim jongin ♜ Every answer Lucifuge had given her had been giving the implications that — no, it wasn't even simply implied. Leviathan knew, with a pounding heart, that she and the demon had truly met even before she opened her eyes to some human cult. And from what she was hearing... the two of them had been rather close — closer than most demons out there, and her eyes narrowed at the possibility of it. She couldn't picture it vividly in her mind, and something at the back of her head ached, a dull throb, and an eye twitched in response. She had the option to ask him about it, granted that he'd share their stories together, but she — couldn't.

She decided to ignore it then, letting her eyes flutter close for a brief moment before she met his gaze once more, pupils clearer.

"Not really," she said, a response to him talking about cutting horns off. Her finger slid up in a smooth, fluid movement, revelling at the exterior of the horns. "I was wondering how they'd felt. I don't think I've ever had horns," she continued on, before she let her hand move to her forehead, lightly tapping on it. With a tilt of her head slightly to the side, she said, "Serpents don't have horns, do they?"

Of course, most of her words were based on the assumption that she was, indeed, a serpent, one that took on the forms of what the humans believed to be great serpent, demon of Envy, Leviathan. She, so far, had never been able to transform back into her real form, which might have been the reason why her current appearance was much more incomplete than the others. The scales, her clear eyes that stayed even when she was in human form. It was a constant reminder, that she would never blend with them — and she loathed the idea of once thinking that she could, someday, be human as well.

She pushed those feelings down, her curiosity getting the better hold of her emotions.

Ignoring the rain (which, in Leviathan's opinion, simply complimented the other demon's look more, the beads of liquid adorning his skin and hair glinting with the faint light that the sky provided), her lips curled up into a smile, one that was pleasant and almost innocent-like. Her hand reached out for his chest, and pushed him gently until his back touched the rather thin tree behind him, his massive dragon wings seemed as though they were waiting for her touch —

— and what else could she do if the demon himself had given her the word?

Her hand trailed fron his chest, making way to his back with feathery touches, as she leaned into him, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. One hand went to his torso as well, fingers spread onto the wet fabric of his clothes, and her moving hand fell upon the rough surface of his wings, touch light and gentle. When she spoke, her voice was cheery and teasing, "people have told me before that I'm quite good with my hands. Shall we put that to test now?"

@park sooyoung ♜ A sudden realization dawned on him ─ if they had gained their true manifestations back, would it mean their complete abilities had also returned? He didn't want to be hopeful though, not when he couldn't feel the buzzing of magick in his ears or the aura that had been stripped from him before reaching Belgate. The void was still tangible within him, so it couldn't be that his powers had returned to him. Glancing down at his hands, his irises followed the scales that adorned the human skin he had prior to the event and the serrated nails that prolonged to at least a few inches.

It was a bit surprising to see Leviathan suddenly inching closer. He was well aware of the proximity that was much smaller between them. It made the dull burning on his imprint flare up once again, but it didn't hurt him at all. Perhaps, it brought him memories only. Ones that he didn't know were still tucked away at the back of his head until now.

"Oh, I have seen them up close, dear Leviathan. Maybe so many times that I have lost count," he answered, eyes narrowed in concentration as he tried to memorize every color merged into the pellucid orbs. He could see everything in them ─ the Heavens, Hell, the world. . .they were all in her eyes. Eventually he realized she was captivated by the new additions to his body, though he knew she had seen them plenty of times before her slumber. Did she not remember those centuries ago? It brought him slight discomfort at the thought that she didn't remember him. He chose not to dwell on those notions.

He inhaled quietly as her fingers danced along the surface of his horns. It had been a while since anyone had been allowed to touch them. He watched her curiously, noting the awestruck look that had become fixated on her features. "I suppose they would be heavy if I wasn't so used to them by now. Why? Are you, perhaps, going to cut my horns?" He teased, a slight smirk growing at the corner of his mouth. "It would hurt, I believe, but they'll regrow if cut off."

The more she asked questions, the more Lucifuge began to doubt whether she had her memories. The demon he knew had known the answers to these questions, yet now, it seemed they had forgotten.

"I thought you would know considering the many times you have touched them," he drawled before taking a step closer to her, looming over her smaller figure. "If you're so curious though, maybe you should touch them again."

@kim jongin ♜ Her attention quickly went back to her fellow demon, and her eyes glinted with unmasked curiosity as her eyebrows slightly rose up. Both demons and angels alike possessed wings, but Leviathan was one of the few exceptions to this trait. Instead of wings, of a winged creature as her true form, she had easily deduced that she was a serpent. There were quite a lot of stories she'd seen written about her, all of which she didn't know whether they were true or not — but since it was the mortals who'd written those books and not one who she would suppose, knew her personally, it was probably was not.

(Although, she wouldn't deny. The creativity of all these humans were rather amusing.)

"Your eyes," the man had breathed out. She wondered how she looked at the other demon right then. She'd been told, quite often, that her eyes were her most prominent feature, a trait of hers that symbolized who Leviathan was. They were different from the fully colored eyes of her fellow demons, or the golden irises the angels held. Hers were clear, a mixture of every hue, every shade of the world around her reflected in her irises like a kaleidoscope.

She decided to a little bit, and a corner of her lips curled up as her expression became one of amusement. "What about my eyes, Lucifuge? Have you never seen my eyes up close before?" she asked, taking a few steps closer to the lad, though her gaze fell upon his massive wings and the tail that hung from his behind. Suddenly, she was filled with the urge to touch it, though she wasn't sure whether the lad would allow her. As much as she liked to do things her way most of the time, she'd rather not fight with a fellow demon when they both couldn't fight in their fullest power — of course, what fun would there be in a fight that was too obviously one-sided?

She reached her hand out, however, and her fingertips lightly touched upon his horns. She tilted her head to the side, a look of slight awe on her face as her lips parted, drawling her hum. "How does it feel like to have horns? Are they heavy? Would it hurt if they were cut?" she asked, beginning to make small motions against them, before she leaned to the side, looking at his wings this time, and letting her eyes fall onto his tail.

Strange as it might be with her age, her loss of memories had left her with quite a lot of questions, it seemed. And she wasn't afraid to chase those answers — after all, knowledge was a useful weapon against powerful opponents.

"Say, are your wings as sensitive as an angel's? Is your tail the same?"

@park sooyoung ♜ When the pair managed to find shelter under the shade the tree provided, he couldn't help the scoff of distaste that slipped from his lips. The feeling of clothes sticking to his skin inked him a little more than it should. Staring at the droplets littered around his hands, Lucifuge narrowed eyes. There were scales materializing on his skin, vermilion shining over what used to be skin. Pressure seemed to building from his head and down to his back, and he couldn't help but clench his jaw because of it. It was moments until the compression subsided, his ears only conscious of rain pelting down on earth. It couldn't be─

But it was. Wings almost larger than half of his human form were nestled in resting position behind him, dark veins running running if he spread them out under the light. A long tail that reached mid-calf swung downwards, its thick and prolonged size embellished in scarlet scales and spikes the color of gold protruding from it. Reaching out a hand, he felt the familiar horns extending from beneath his fair-colored hair, brows furrowed in together at the revelation. "Why am I in this form?" He muttered.

His head snapped towards Leviathan, exhaling out a breath. Her own scales decorated the skin visible to his eyes, and when lightning flashed up in the sky, her scales gleamed a beguiling glow. When he stared at her in the eyes, opening his mouth to question the strange occurrence, the words seemed to come to a halt. If her eyes had been anymore alluring than before, they were even more so now. Scales that were like the color of the sea outlined her lower eyes and eyelashes curled over them like a shade.

"Your eyes," he breathed out. In that moment, Lucifuge wanted to be the only one to gaze at her eyes as long as he desired. Though, he knew not a single being deserved to look into such beauty. Not even he did.

"Whatever it is they're doing, it won't be long until Lucifer responds," he replied, eyes flickering down to the ground. He could already feel the tiniest of tremors vibrating beneath the earth, expectantly glancing once more to the sky. But why at this moment was this happening? He didn't think he'd be able to see his true form so soon, not here in Belgate. They had been able to hide their identities from the mortals for this long, but now it would be impossible to do.

The demon felt his wings shudder briefly and he was sure the back of his shirt was damaged by the addition of forelimbs sprouting from his back. "I don't think we have a choice. Unless we are able to shift back," he suggested, albeit he didn't believe it would be of any help.

@kim jongin ♜ Leviathan could only raise her eyebrow at the male's statement. "I'll have you know I've always enjoyed your company," were his words, and she could only instantly remember a few moments — few brief moments — where the two of them had talked. It was more of her trying to ignore the other, casually excusing herself whenever he got near, for the sole reason that she... couldn't understand whatever it was that caused her to feel... strange. What made this night different? She wasn't sure — perhaps she decided that she didn't mind his presence anymore. However, before she could even say a word of her thoughts, she felt the drop of water on her skin, until it became a downright downpour, soaking her completely.

She watched with slight interest as the other cursed under his breath, and her eyes flicked upwards, looking at the dark clouds. Such an event didn't bother her — water had been her element for as long as she was concerned, but truly, she didn't appreciate having her clothes wet. "Who knows? The Heavens are unpredictable — it's what makes them too irritating," she replied, pushing herself up from the ground. She then grabbed the other's arm, calm despite the storm, and dragged him toward the trees, where at least the rain was weaker.

The sky wasn't as clear as she had wanted already, but then a storm suddenly came in — it was quite strange. She glanced up at the sky, tilting her head. Clear eyes narrowed at it. What were they thinking?

Deciding that she could worry about it another time, she shook her head softly to herself, before she turned her attention back to the lad. Her eyes slightly widened in surprise, as the other's appearance significantly changed. Three horns adorned his head, long horns with one protruding upwards and the rest spread toward both sides. Dragon scales arrayed his skin, reminding her of his true form, though she couldn't remember a clear view of what it look like. She had an inkling she knew—would recognize how it felt under her fingertips.

But what rang to her mind was his pair of eyes — a bright golden that rivaled even that of the sun's. Something throbbed in her chest, a dull ache, and she couldn't help the change in her expressions as she tried to understand what it was.

Something s through her skin, and she looked down at her arms, realization dawning on her as she saw scales spreading from her shoulders, fading into her hands, in an elegant line that made her look even more out-of-wordly. She touched her face as well, fingers lightly tapping on her cheeks, and she could feel the scales fading as it went outwards.

Her eyes narrowed. Her hand went to her ears, and she found out that they had morphed into a longer, sharper shape, similar to fins.

"Did the Heavens do this?" she asked, gaze turning back to her companion. "If so..." Then what were they planning? If it was the rain that had brought this, then it would be safe to assume that all demons — and perhaps even the angels as well — had their human disguises broken. This wasn't her true form, she was aware of that (though she had no recollection of what she looked like in her full glory — but that was a story for another time). She huffed as she let out an exasperated sigh. "So are we supposed to parade around town in these forms?"

@park sooyoung ♜ Her sudden laughter, a beautiful symphony to his ears, brought his eyes to fixate themselves on her once again. Without any hesitance, Lucifuge neared the other, settling down on the earth as his fingers brushed against the blades of grass. It was different. So much so from the Underworld. Such beauty was wasted on a world that would one day be no more. It was a reminder everything was temporary here. "I hope you don't my presence near you. It was getting tiring to stand." He tilted his head back, arms leaned back as he blew out air. A grin twitched at the corner of his lips, nodding his head. "It would be quite easy. They're so simple-minded. It wouldn't take long to rile them. Perhaps that could be one thing I don't hate about them. Mortals are not shy when it comes to wrath."

From his periphery vision, he could see her outstretched hand, fingers dancing along the expanse of the sky. "Maybe so. Not even we deserve to caress them," he agreed quietly, lost in the sea of the celestial bodies. They were safe up there, far from hands that would only steal the vulnerable beauty they possessed.

"It's strange. It's as if they're watching themselves." The sound of her shifting around caught his ear, chuckling lowly at the words that followed. "I don't mind. I'll have you know I've always enjoyed your company." As soon as the words left his mouth, clouds began to form rapidly. The stars slowly disappeared from their eyes as if they had never been there. Without them, it had become darker, though that wasn't a bother for him. What did irk him was the realization that Heaven seemed to have a scheme they were carrying out.

"Just what are they doing?" He asked, glowering at the clouds. "Trying to shower the damned city in Holy water?"

Not long after having said that did the clouds begin to cry. It was like an onslaught, droplets raining down so heavily that it seemed like Heaven wanted to send them back down to the Fallen World. He brought an arm up to shield his face, turning to place a hand on Leviathan's arm before shouting through the roaring storm. "We should move under the trees!"

@kim jongin ♜ She couldn't help the quick laugh that came out of her lips, and she let herself fall back once again, her back kissing the ground with a soft thud as her locks spread around her, framing her porcelain face. The moon shined upon her being, its light giving her skin a diaphanous glow, and she couldn't understand how a smile so easily found its way to her lips, but her lips curled upwards, almost gentle, though when she opened her eyes, there was a hint of cruelty at the mention of humans. "They never learn, do they?" Surely, they could provide the demons another source of entertainment, rather than their endless stupidity that she was quickly getting tired of. "Say, don't you think it'll be fun putting countries at wars?"

Because then, there would be screams, endless deaths and unnecessary bloodshed — too much chaos for their little mortal bodies to handle, but not enough to satiate her thirst for more. The world was too small, far, far too tiny and she felt as though it would be easy to hold it in her hands, crush it with her fingers. It wouldn't take much to ruin an already broken world — all it needed was one more push, one more trigger. It only needed more gentle coaxing, and the humans would ruin themselves on their own.

She lifted an arm up, hand outstretched towards the sky as she aligned her finger tip along a star within her eyesight. "That would be truly nice," she said. "Though if we were truly able to hold the stars, then it would have lost its beauty, wouldn't it?" She closed her hand into a fist, and her attention moved toward it. There were things in life that were much more beautiful if it was untouched; untainted by hands dyed in crimson, painted with sin. To her, that was the stars. She let her fist down, unclenching it as it touched her chest.

"Moving images... on some box..." Her eyes narrowed as she thought of what it could be, but no name came to mind for such an object. She'd seen it around cities, yet she had yet to actually learn of what it was. "Humans invent such strange things. Too bad they're destroying the very world they live in because of 'progress,'" she continued on, shrugging her shoulders before she moved herself over, rolling onto her stomach, one hand supporting her head up as her chin rested on her palm. "I do hope you don't mind my company then. I got here first, after all," she said, gaze focused on the demon by the tree.

@park sooyoung ♜ She was unlike many he knew, which was why he had always felt so drawn to her. The dull ache on his neck signified that much. Their eyes met briefly as he kept his features placid, and if it weren't for him raising his eyes to study the stars, he might have lost himself in her translucent orbs for a moment. Lucifuge remembered when he had first seen them, although it had been thousands of years since. The taste of the salt on his lips and the roaring sea crashing on the colossal rocks. His mouth had twitched into a smile upon seeing her eyes, the colors of the sea, the sky, and Earth reflecting off of them.

'Your eyes carry the entire universe in them, my dear,' he remembered telling her once. A smile so saccharine had been her response as tendrils of her dark hair blew in the current of air.

A scoff sounded from his throat. "Humans do not deserve such beauty. They have always had low standards." Leaning his face against the trunk of the tree, he let his eyes drift from one star to another, pupils drawing imagined lines until they formed a constellation. "I would've been most delighted if we would be able to bring the stars into our hands. They appear so small and charming from here, but so drastically different from up close, hm?" He pondered, glancing at the sitting figure.

For Leviathan, he would dare bring a star.

His hand wrapped around his neck subconsciously, fingers brushing over the swollen curves of the red dragon imprint. He closed his eyes momentarily, basking in the gentle intonation as she spoke. "I would agree. It was feeling too predictable. There's no enjoyment in that." Flitting open his eyes, once again their gazes met and he twitched an eyebrow. "I decided I was in need of some time to myself. It was starting to feel suffocating with his strange ways of entertainment. They watch these moving images on some box. It was boring me back to Hell."

@kim jongin ♜ The soft whisper of her name wasn't lost on her, and her eyes focused on the demon's face, gauging his expressions. Though it wasn't out of her expectations, the fact that she was unable to see beneath that well-worn mask was still rather disappointing. There were very few demons and angels that she couldn't read like the back of her hand, which was quite a hassle, but still entertaining enough in its own right. Perhaps this was simply her looking for things to rid herself of the boredom that immortality had bestowed her with, for having lived a life as long as her own... One could be driven to madness with how boring and unsightly the world truly was. Unfortunately for her, she was bound to this earth, whether she chose to forcibly enter the heavens or wreck havoc in hell.

Lucifuge Rofocale was one of these small entertaining bits, Leviathan had decided right there and then. She knew very little about the male demon, as she didn't find the need to learn more about the latter (even she herself knew almost nothing about herself, although she wasn't exactly actively looking for a past she didn't think was important to her). She breathed softly at his answer, a low sound quickly resonating within . She moved her gaze from his figure up to the sky, eyes aimlessly darting from one star to another.

"It is, isn't it?" she agreed. "Humans are too foolish not to appreciate such beauty — though that's exactly what makes their souls more delectable, I suppose." It was easy to tell where each constellation was, to distinguish which soul went to which star — she wasn't exactly sure how she'd known of this. Sometimes she could hear — the songs of the living, the anthems of the dead. They would whisper on her ears, tell her of tales of mortals and immortals alike. As time passed by, they became her company. They were quite the diverting fellows, the souls of the deceased. They were much, much easier to tolerate than these fools for a human, angels, and even demons.

No matter where she went, she couldn't find the solace her being seemed to seek.

At his question, her eyelids fluttered close, and she shrugged her shoulders in a graceful movement. "There's no particular reason, honestly." She opened her eyes again, this time they were fixated on the grass beneath her feet, the tips of it dancing around her slender fingers as she reached out to touch them. "The idea of those mortals doesn't seem too appetizing at the moment. I'd rather not see even a single one of them for tonight. They're getting quite boring — even their screams don't do much to amuse me!" she said, before she let out an exasperated sigh. She then looked at him with a slight turn of her head. "Shouldn't you be by your human's side? You've been assigned to one, haven't you?"

@park sooyoung ♜ Curiosity rose within him as his eyes drifted from the stars painting the otherwise plain sky, and then down to her, who seemed so serene in the time being that it felt almost cruel to shatter the silence into the shards of reality. As he felt from when he was at the entrance of Hell's Point, the ambience surrounding the demoness was extremely powerful and had he not been as experienced in masking what he truly felt, his resolve would've crumbled upon meeting someone so great.

And as soft was the lilt in the way she spoke, the delicate thrumming of his heart ─ he supposed he'd have to get used to the organ that mortals treasured so dearly ─ quickened the slightest. Though he was befuddled at the change in pattern, he did not show it. Not until she turned to look at him with eyes like crystals. Eyes that promised everything that Lucifuge had held onto so tightly. There was an ache somewhere in him. He didn't know where. Just that it was present, overpowering the dulling burn of his mark. "Leviathan. . ." he whispered, more to himself than to her.

He knew she had awoken from the slumber she had been forced into. He had felt it and it was the only invigorating moment he could remember. Unfortunately it seemed as if fate had kept them separated until tonight that is. "I came to see what all the fuss about this part of the city was. Now I can understand. It is quite remarkable," he responded.

/Do you remember me?/

He wanted to ask. She knew his name, but her words did little to soothe the unsaid questions arising. Perhaps he was being impatient. How could he not? The one who he truly felt a connection with, one who he thought he'd lost, was right there. Instead, he directed his thoughts elsewhere. "May I know why the striking Leviathan is out here? I would've thought you'd be feasting on some mortal by now," he snickered, leaning a shoulder against the trunk of a tree.

@kim jongin ♜ Leviathan had felt the intruder's presence before she'd even heard him speak. Water was her element — her being thrived in the waters, as she was, as they all called her, the guardian of the abyss, yet she had discovered that she too, was one with the earth, and felt every life and every death that transpired each second as time went by. Every demon had a specific aura, one that made them easily distinguishable. This one, she knew, was powerful; felt almost as old as time, but not quite. It felt as though magical energy had spiked up in the air just with his arrival, suffocating those who were too weak to stand in his presence — like a dragon in the skies, wings stretched in his full glory and might.

She knew whose this was.

"The stars are beautiful, are they not?"

Her eyes fluttered open, irises twinkling as the luminance of the moon and the bright stars reflected in her clear pupils. A light expresion fell upon her face, and she tilted her head upwards so she could have a clearer view of the nightsky. "Yes," she answered in a soft voice, though she was certain that the demon would hear it all the same. She slowly leaned back, turned her head to look at the other, the corners of her lips curled into what felt like a hint of a smile. "What business does the great Lucifuge have with me?" she asked, pulling a leg to her chest.

As she let her eyes linger on the demon's figure, eyes landing on the crimson mark by his neck, her gaze moved up to meet his eyes and —

— she inhaled sharply, a strange feeling falling upon her being as she couldn't avert her eyes from the other's. She could feel it again — whatever this was. This was different from the demon's presence — it was an underlying... connection? A thread that felt that almost connected her to the man. It was... /disorienting/ — felt a little too much as something she had no control of. It was then that she was able to move her gaze away, turned back to the nightsky as one hand went to her chest, clutched the fabric of her clothes. What was this feeling? She couldn't say she liked it. Then again, the first time she'd felt this was with him as well. She glanced at the man through the corners of her eyes. What was with him then? Why did she feel like this only ever around him?

She clicked her tongue softly. She hated the feeling of someone having control over her, no matter what form.

@park sooyoung ♜ Usually it was pitch black within the city of Belgate when nighttime took control over the day. This time, he was entering Hell's Point and it was not a lie when many said it was the most beautiful place in the whole city. Stars littered the expanse of the darkened sky and if he bothered to observe them longer, he might have been able to name the constellations. The bitter cold felt like fingers wrapping around his exposed skin; it was unfamiliar compared to the warmth of the Hellfire from the Fallen World, but not entirely unwelcome.

When he had received permission from Lucifer to venture along with his fellow demons among the mortals and the angels, he did not expect the human world to have something as beautiful as Hell's Point. They were undeserving of it, especially if it really was true that it would lead to the underworld. What had they done to be granted with the prosperity of basking in beauty? They did not devote themselves to Lucifer like the demons had. Instead many of them sleeked refuge from God, making it a habit to visit churches and pray. It would be useless because succumbing to the wicked was always so much easier anyways.

The crunches of grass and pebbles could be heard under the sole of his shoes as he walked further into the darkness that was like home. A hiss reaches his ears among the otherwise still night. Instinctively, he reached for the mark wrapped around the side of his neck, feeling the crevices of the red dragon image burn against his fingertips. It had been a long time since he felt the burning sensation.

Perhaps thousands of years since he felt it.

Stretching his neck, he felt the presence of someone. There was no one who could make his mark simmer ─ and then it dawned on him. Within a second, he disappeared, leaving remnants of nothing behind as he teleported to the location that called to him. A lone figure came into his periphery and he turned to gaze at a seemingly female figure. Demon. Her presence was too powerful to be a mere mortal and too dark for an angel.

"The stars are beautiful, are they not?" He queried, deciding it was time to make himself known, though she probably knew already. His lips pulled upwards into something similar to a smile, choosing to ignore the way his mark throbbed.

@kim jongin ♜ The cold freeze held no effect as it kissed the exposed skin of the woman who sat in the center of the clearing, the trees standing tall and proud as they encircled around her. She almost seemed like a doll — unmoving, beautiful. Ethereal. Her beauty seemed more suited to someone from the heavens, gifted with wings crafted by the Lord Himself, but she was anything but a holy being. She was a demon, the great serpent — or so it was what she'd learned from the long life she'd led. The earliest she could remember was waking up to seeing a group of wretched humans surrounding her, clad in dark cloaks and held teary eyes. It was probably the first time she'd seen someone be so... /happy/ seeing her, yet she couldn't understand why then.

That was the reason why they'd ended up in her stomach.

She sat with her legs to her chest, an arm wrapped around them and the other placed above her knees, chin resting atop of it. There were very few things that she'd fancied in this ugly world, the very few things which she found beautiful amidst all the chaos. One of it was this starry sky, glinting with all the stars up high. Her pupils were a mirror — a kaleidoscope of different colors and shades as it reflected the world she saw. But this was simply one of the very few things that this ugly world could possibly offer her, one of the few things that could at least, help a little bit with her boredom. It /wasn't/ enough.

She wanted more — she knew she deserved more. She deserved all the luxuries this world had to offer, yet the angels decided to exist and be an absolute annoyance that she couldn't rid herself of even if she tried. At the thought, she let out a soft sigh, and she leaned back, letting go of her legs and she fell back to the grass, hair spread around her like a dark crown. Her legs slid forward, and her eyes fell close, as her form relaxed, her breathing even. Might as well just cherish this small peace and quiet she'd gotten to herself. Free of angels. Free of other demons. Free of humans too.
