@jung wooseok  Minkyung didn't worry often. Normally, her subordinates were trustworthy enough for her to let them run off on their own during missions, knowing full well that they knew her ways like the back of their hands not to make an accidental mistake along the way. They were the people who had been through hell and back with her (of course, used only in the figurative manner), so she could at least relax around them. But Jung Wooseok hadn't been with her through those experiences — heck, the man could even barely protect himself, went ahead and got caught up in a gunfire that shouldn't have had involved him. It was the very reason why she'd decided to take in the homeless child back then, even if she knew that it meant exposing him to the more dangerous parts of the world.

If she were to be completely honest, there were times she regretted doing so. Being with her meant playing with danger — meant dancing with death, and the poor child had already been through so much. But she'd probably worry herself about the child she would have left to death by bleeding out, and she felt like that was just as equally mentally taxing.

But this day was one of those days, where she simply couldn't stay still underground, waiting until a fully safe Wooseok came barging through the metallic doors of their headquarters. She wondered if she should have let him bring a gun — actually, she did, didn't she? The question was: did he even know how to shoot a gun? She had never seen him fire one, him claiming that he had no need for it, and she had chided him for being stubborn in this kind of world they lived in. She bit her nail strongly, eyebrows furrowing in obvious worry.

"Captain! Don't worry about that brat — he'll be fine, that kid. He smart, ain't he?" one of her men commented from the side, and she glanced at him with a slight turn of her head. In his hand was a mop, and he along with a few others, was already starting to clean the restaurant. It was closing time; there wouldn't be many people coming around, however —

How-ing-ever.

Jung Wooseok still wasn't back.

She swore she would kill the younger man once he did.

She heard the door open, and her eyes lit up at the sound. When she turned around to look, she felt /horrified/. She quickly approached the lad, arms ready to catch him before he even touched the ground. The man felt rather heavy in her hands, but she'd carried heavier weights. She looked at the cleaning men near her, who had already stood by her side the moment she went down to her knees to hold Wooseok, and she gestured toward the door with a movement of her head. Two of them went out to scout, while the remaining ex-soldier began to clean the blood. She took out the rather large handkerchief she'd always brought with her (for emergencies, her father would have said), and wrapped it around Wooseok's torso.

"Don't you 'what's up' me, you brat," she hissed as she threw his arm around her shoulders, and she pushed the both of them up with much ease. "This is why I told you to learn how to use a gun. For someone so smart, I see you're still stupid enough to head into a lion's den without even a single weapon in your hands—" she paused in her words, before she moved her head so that she could glare at the other through the corners of her eyes, "—didn't I tell you to bring someone with you whenever you go out?"

She started walking toward the door next to the kitchen, kicking it open as it had been left unlocked, since they were still outside. The men inside immediately went up to their feet, and moved to have him fixed already. She would boast about how disciplined her men were, but there were more pressing matters at hand — like a bleeding like a mothering fountain Wooseok, perhaps. Heading into the small medic area they had (the underground was quite spacious — she had been lucky to find this when she did), she (quite roughly) placed the younger man down on the bed, not minding how bloody her attire had become. She was a little too used to having such color painted on her body, anyway.

"Don't tell me you're going to die from just this — I didn't save you from that gunfire just to have you die from a knife stab."

@kim minkyung Wooseok had absolutely no clue how he’d managed to get himself into this mess.

Except, he kind of did. After all, when one dabbles in illegal activities with an underground mafia gang, one should expect to get into all sorts of trouble. It had been trouble that had even gotten him into the chaos that was the Black Dragon, and he’d joined with the inkling suspicion that trouble would continue to follow him throughout the rest of his days.

He had been right, of course. And for once, Wooseok had wished he’d been wrong.

It was supposed to be a simple operation - so simple, he hadn’t needed anyone else to accompany him. He was just supposed to drop off a package of some drugs that had been smuggled from abroad, and that was that. It hadn’t even been a supposed to be a major operation, like some of the ones that he’d delivered before, so his guard had been down. And before he knew it, the package had disappeared, and Wooseok had no money to show for the drugs that had been taken.

What he did have to show instead, was a nasty cut in his side, deep enough to leave a rather shocking amount of blood trailing after him. Wooseok was used to seeing blood, sure - but not his own. He wasn’t sure if the light headedness was from the blood he was quickly losing, or from the sheer amount of it dripping from his wounded side.

He winced - Minkyung was going to kill him, if he didn’t die before seeing her. The familiar sight of the ramen restaurant sent a wave of relief down his weary body, his unstable steps quickening as he approached the familiar figure of his boss standing inside, just by the entrance of the establishment. He must have looked like a mess - wet from the rain and bleeding rather heavily (or maybe not that heavily - he’d never been stabbed before, after all), but despite the pain, the sight of her didn’t fail to bring a smile to his face.

He definitely looked like a mess - crazy, maybe. Not everyone smiled like a lunatic after being stabbed.

Wooseok entered the restaurant, the same, almost drunken smile on his face as he gazed down at Minkyung, his free hand giving her a half-hearted wave. Yep, she was going to kill him - he was getting blood and rain all over the floor. He pitied whoever would have to clean that up (although it would probably have to be him).

“What's up,” he greeted casually, before crashing to the ground with an exhausted groan and a pained wince.
