was this the brightest idea? no. did he wake up today thinking he would end up in a library that didn't belong to his people? not at all. yet here he was, standing in front of the double glass doors of the local library that was settled deep within a town that he knew nothing about. octavian knew he had no business being there; he was, after all, a thalassan, and thalassans didn't belong above water. however, his longing to find a book that he had not yet touched continued to itch at him until he finally gained the courage to venture out into a forbidden land.

darting his tongue out, he swiped the pink muscle across his lower lip, his fingers curling around the edges of his grey, over sized hoodie before he lifted a hand and wrapped the long digits around the silver handle of one of the doors. slowly, he tugged it open, allowing the warm, crystal lights from inside the building to caress his face before he took a few steps into the large area, allowing the glass door to swing shut behind him in a gentle 'click'. with wide, light blue eyes filled with a child like amazement, octavian turned his head slowly in order to take in his surroundings, each direction leading to a row of sheleves lined with various books. in all his life, the young thalassan had never seen so many books in a single place. of course, they had libraries beneath the water, but they never held an abundance of selections, leaving octavian to reread many books more than twice. once he came back to his senses, shaking his head gently in order to break himself out of the slight daze that he was previously stuck in, the thalassan found himself scurrying off towards the fiction section of the library, a glee full smile painting his lips as he was all too excited to dig through the various paperbacks and hardcovers.
