@n. yuta her brows do a wiggle and a wave as he looks at her with an incredulous look on his face. just before she could add on to her little sly speech, she's now resting on her back with him straddling her knees, his fingers at her side which easily made her twitch. a cat like growl leaves her lips and her hands fly to his wrists to stop him from doing any kind of damage. "you tickle me, and you're going to get a knee to the balls." she mutteres through her teeth before relaxing beneath him. then, she snaps her head to the side and closes her eyes with a small 'hmph', her bottom lip jutting out. "don't wanna."

@l. maggie his hand comes up to cover hers and he wears a grimace. slowly, his lips purse, and his expression morphs into one that undoubtedly asks, ‘oh really?’ maggie was the devil incarnate, he swears, because she knew just how to stir up trouble. “you’re saying i should stop partying? your hard habit could use a little reigning in too, MISSY.” he holds her wrist at his chest and presses her back into the bed as he rises: rolling them over. his hands immediately fly to her sides as he straddles her knees. his fingers press into her sides and yuta sits tall, grinning, “say it— say i need to party less again and let’s see what i do to you.” he dangles the threat of tickling her.

@n. yuta there's a certain mischievous glint that washes up on her features. the corner of her voluptuous lips lifting upwards in a very playful smirk. carefully, she pushes herself up, her hand pressed against the center of his chest while her long hair falls over her shoulders and dangles over him like a blanket. "/you/ should probably take it easy. i don't think i could ever just take a break from partying. it's my thing, and definitely a habit to break." she spoke as she laid back down, only to prop her head against her palm, elbow propped up on the pillow.

@l. maggie yuta fell silent as he was tugged deep into thought. memories from the night before escaped him like a dream he had blinked away, and he grasped at slivers of ephemeral sensations. “huh,” he decides at last that trying to remember the night before was futile. his other hand ruffled through his hair before settling under his head and he tugged his lips this way and that as he weighed the pros and cons. his liver could use a break. he mutters reluctantly, deciding ultimately, “yeah... we should huh? i dont recall bad grades, or any reason to go as hard as i did... jesus.”

@n. yuta "yeah, just cigs. nothing crazy, nothing wild. god, and you would just snatch a lit up one right out of my hand too." she mumbled, turning onto her side to face the other with tired eyes. her stomach was aching all day, and felt so dry from the alcohol the night before that she had water bottles lined up on her night stand beside her bed. her hand comes up to rest upon his stomach, thinking he was probably feeling the same too. in a circular motion, she rubbed his stomach, keeping her eyes on his features while exhaling softly. "we really need to cut down on the partying."
n. yuta 4 years ago
@l. maggie “cigs?” his head whips to her, genuinely wondering why the hell he wasn’t in the hospital for alcohol poisoning. if he was that ed up, he wasn’t thinking about the smell at that point—and he had the worst reactions to cigs. no wonder, he thinks, reasoning away the lingering nausea rising up at the back of his throat. naturally, his arm slotted under her head and extended out across the pillows as he stared up at the ceiling. “mags... you sure i was smoking? like, cigs? not a joint—” just thinking about it had his stomach churninf.
l. maggie 4 years ago
@n. yuta she shifts over as soon as she's instructed to; a soft snort escaping her nose as she tosses her phone onto the table with a gentle thud. "you were super ed up. i was at the party all by myself and then i came outside and you were holding a whole bottle of whiskey all to yourself, selfish bastard." she remembered as she looked over and laid down beside him, naturally resting her head upon his shoulder. "you did take my cigarettes every time i would light one up. we were so ed last night."
n. yuta 4 years ago
@l. maggie the scary realization of how abso-ing-lutely drunk he was last night dawns on him for the third time that day. “i have no clue,” his head hangs, toeing off his shoes, before shuffling over. the day was spent in a fog, blurry with a throb in his head (and his side? what the went down last night—) and slow as molasses. “did i smoke anything?” he grumbles, lifting up the corner of her blanket and slipping in. “move over, loser.”

@n. yuta Maggie wasn't done with unpacking for the most part. In fact, she didn't really bring much from her own home to bring. Maybe a pillow, her laptop, her blanket, a make-up bag, a few clothes and that was it. She mostly spent most of her time at home anyways, staying in an apartment was just a cover for her own . Thankfully, she found an apartment with a roommate to share the expense. It would be evenly distributed, so there was no worry about cost, then again, she was barely gonna live there anyways. Hearing the door open, she assumed it would be her roommate, but was faced with Yuta instead. Immediately, almost automatically, her cheeks puff up before sitting up on her bed, crossing her legs while her hands cradled her phone. "I didn't mean to -- geez. You weren't the only one who was faced and ed up last night and this morning." she mumbled softly, reaching over to grab her pillow and hug it against her body. Maggie's face was bare and white, completely free of make-up. Rarely did she ever leave her abode without having make up on; and if she did, well, she'd be nonexistent the entire day. "Speaking of which, you drank a ton. How do you feel?"

@l. maggie doors were a barrier meant to be broken down, but he knew she had just moved into a previously occupied apartment, and had a roommate. that was the ONE thing keeping him from breaking down her door as he slipped into the, thankfully unlocked apartment. (yuta prayed he wouldn't get clocked by her roommate--he heard the roommate was a tall dude with no s to give.) he had an idea for which room was maggie's, having helped her move in just a week prior and he slips into her room.

"hoe-- you left me on read? what's that all about?" he mutters, closing the door behind him and making himself at home in her room.
l. hayi 4 years ago
@w. yukhei "if you thought that way then i'm sure it's quite some trouble," hayi muttered in amusement, the rim of the mug bridging to the crook beneath her lower lip. she raised it to her lips again for a bigger sip, attentive to yukhei's words as he took to the issue of burning the midnight oil. he seemed a little stiff, though it could just be her mind making up things with how drained she was. to be polite she mirrored his laughs, though they quickly became soft, genuine ones. "you have equations, while i have words," she shot back, an attempt to make herself seem more relatable. "journalism major, by the way." hayi spun the chair slightly and placed the cup on her desk, ensuring its position was secure before turning back to her roommate. yukhei did really seem to be a pleasant person, through the late night lethargy and headaches from school. and even when he spoke, his low and kindly manner of speech came together with the peace of midnight. not to mention his comfort with the floating silences between them, which was something she appreciated. she gave a nod in reply to his inquiry, eyes flickering to her work on the screen. she reached over to grab a mint off the dish on the desk, offering it on her small palm, a fair trade for the warm cup of tea he had given. "have this. it's just a few assignments and personal work. i hope yours is going better than mine."
w. yukhei 4 years ago
@l. hayi yukhei was elated to see the offering being taken with neither hesitation nor haste. his palms and finger tips quaked slightly at the air, still not relieved of the latent tension that doused them from his late night work with a pencil. he dropped his fallible hands and forearms to his sides before sticking them in the loosened crevices of his night-bottom pockets. concurrently to a slight shake of the head, he took was seemed to be an inviting spot on the bed for him to sit on, "it's no trouble, really. sure, i did notice it enough to come here and give you some tea. but the body isn't immune to this sort of thing." he was glad to have seen her puckered lips be so generous toward the tea, unknown to if it would really be the sort of forthcoming remedy she needed. yukhei returned every inching curve of a smile back towards hayi, hands still tightly packed into his pockets as the contours of his knuckles visibly seeped through the fabric of his bottoms. he creased his nose slightly at her poised inquiry, cadence now seemingly a bit more refined, "uh... yes actually. i was just doing some math. lots of it. that's just sort of the price being an accounting major comes with." his subsequent chuckles were low, muzzled at its loudest; most likely, it was to match the calm disposition the atmosphere took inside of the room, silence taking its fervent forefront in the ambiance without little deviance from its occupants to ruin it. but yukhei never saw the invalidity of the quiet and calm. his voice returned the same question, mellowed and hushed to be heard within the female's proximity, "how about your work? you seem like you're pretty occupied already."
l. hayi 4 years ago
@w. yukhei hayi didn't know what she was expecting when she let yukhei come in when he asked. maybe he would check in for just a quick moment and then leave, she thought. so it came as a surprise when she heard the soft clinking and realized he had brought with him some tea, offering it to her when she had not asked. not directly at least. but now that he was here, she decided it was an opportunity to know the kind of person she was staying with. she lifted her head to make eye contact as courtesy, soon noticing how much she had to crane her neck to even glance at his shoulders. "oh i see," she mumbled raspily, hands coming up to grip both the mug and dish while her head dipped down slightly. "thank you, you're very kind." in contrast to her words she eyed the hot drink cautiously for a moment and tucked the mask under her chin. she offered a curt smile towards him before her lips made a small pucker to sip from the ceramic mug. "sorry for bothering you, i get a lot of throat issues during this time. i don't have the best body constitution, but i'll keep it down." hayi explained, voice seemingly smoother from the gentle tea. she lowered her knees and crossed her legs instead as she nudged her head towards her bed for yukhei to sit if he wanted. at any other time she would not have given such an invitation, but her mind was slowly shutting down and the welcoming beverage had softened her up. her fingers tightened slightly around the mug. "are you... doing your work too?"

@l. hayi yukhei's ears could only be attentive to hearing for the go-ahead to proceed, turning the knob of the door in a gentle manner. the ray of light spilled into the common area as the door opened; the young male closed it shut behind him. the mug of tea laid comfortably atop a small dish with a small circular duvet the base of the mug could fit into. while he eyes took note of the mask which adorned the lower half of his roommate's face, ear to ear, he could only drag his feet along the carpeted interior; the friction of the fibers of his socks and the material of the flooring hummed lowly as yukhei inched his way closer towards her, the ceramic mug and dish clicking out of his fidgety hands as it was offered over to hayi. "sorry if i'm inconveniencing you, but i could hear you coughing all night and i just wanted to see if this would help in any way," the steam rose fondly above the brim of the mug, the gradient of intangible heat all the more apparent each time the mug shifted even the slightest, "usually i make this for myself at this hour, but i have too many of those tea bags anyway. i was eventually going to share them with you." his lips pursed together, contouring to create a thin line. "are you feeling alright?"
l. hayi 4 years ago
@w. yukhei hayi could feel her ears prick at the sound of footsteps shifting around the adjacent room, almost tearing up as she began coughing even harder. began burning as a result of the irritation, but the option to stop was nowhere in sight. with every heave her shoulders shuddered, and she leaned back into her barely cushioned chair desperately. her rounded eyes narrowed as the treading seemed to stop for a moment, before the knocking of the wooden door trembled into her eardrums. she was undeniably caught by surprise as her roommate's baritone voice sweetly and so gently traveled through the barrier between them. "s-sure, come in," her normally monotone voice was a mix of wheezy and feeble. hurriedly she pulls the hood even tighter around her face and curls up on the seat, preparing for the entrance of the other. only then does hayi remember the mask tucked into the large central pocket laying across the stomach, and she whips it out to swiftly hook it around her small ears, her eyes kept downward onto the floor. the scent of the cotton spread over the bottom half of her face calmed her slightly. for a moment she could muster a deep breath, pulling her knees closer towards her chest protectively.

@l. hayi yukhei was always fond of trying to spin his pencil around his slender digits whenever assignments got too cumbersome. small distractions detoured his sensibilities from the mundane sheets of white he was assigned to gloss over. with small intervals to rest, his wrist still wasn't quite used to the strain in which written numbers put on it. he alternated between which forearm would be reliant on the weight of his head, droopy over his desk. a sizable yawn exercised the muscles of his cheeks, which had only conformed to the tentative expressions of ongoing focus before then. his roommate's room was adjacent to his, and to his left was the shared wall which separated their rooms. at intermittent times, he would hear coughs of varying amplitudes - soft and prolonging, sometimes an uncanny hybrid of both. yukhei was both surprised and concerned that she'd also been sharing the same night owl hours as he was. he let his pencil roll onto the desk as he set it down, his legs extending to stand up straight, exiting the confines of his room. the days he permits himself to strenuous work that spills into the late night are few and far between, but even on such days, he seeks to extend his vigor by drinking tea. he's gotten so curiously accustomed to the teapot that he'd be able to be within its proximity before it begins to elicit its audible whistle. he makes a cup, steeping the bag for the appropriate amount before another cough stifled the solemn silence, muffled by the closed door to her room. the strips of light which outlined the door were radiant. yukhei then takes his strides toward her door, tapping three knocks on the polished wood which echoed favorably, "hello? is it okay if i maybe come in for a second?"
l. hayi 4 years ago
@w. yukhei "here we go again," hayi muttered to herself as she took in a deep breath, settling onto the chair of her new bedroom. she had just returned after a precise 20-minute night walk as a means to cool off. seeing as the lights of the neighboring room were visible over the door gaps, she assumed the other was still awake and took the presence as a silent source of energy. this would have to make do till she managed to get out of university. her roommate seemed harmless enough, furthermore mentioned that he was more of the quiet type, the biggest reason she was willing to join up with him. her fingers traced upward her cheeks to pause at her temples, gently moving in circles as she braced herself to begin her assignments. none of which were mountainous tasks by any means, but the years had brought the idea into hayi's mind that perfection execution was the only way to ever get by. with a soft clearing of , she tugged the string of her black cotton hoodie, leaving an opening only around her eyes and nose. the weather was uncomfortably warm, but the hoodie oddly enough made her feel better. soon her digits began floating over the computer keys, churning out word after word and stopping only to review the previously written paragraph. "no, that's not right-" her mousy murmurs get cut off by a hefty cough. then another. a grimace quickly took form on her face as her lips pulled thin to stifle the nth cough fit of the day. water did little to help, made her choke in fact. without any remedy in sight, she rolled back away from the desk to cup a small palm to , finding it too distracting to continue working.
