@✦ Ten Looking up at the boy speaking to him Kris waved his hand towards the kitchen as a reply other then that he didn’t do much. Only after a long silence long enough to make it seam like he wouldn’t answer at all did he open his mouth. “You aren’t a cop. Why are you at the crime scene? Are you the killer?” The first sentence was a clear statement implying that the knew that the other wasn’t a cop but just someone that came to the crime scene for the gore. The rest was unrelated to anything the boy had said but seeing his interest in the pictured he couldn’t help but wonder.

He had found the pictures at the back entrance through the kitchen so in a way he had already replied the others question so without further interested in continuing the conversation he once more buried his head in the pictures turning the phone around trying to make heads and tails out of it. At first, he thought it was just some prank someone pulled but now that it had caught the eyes of someone else, he was sure it was something important.

Legs up on the table balancing the chair on its two back legs he was starring at the pictures again before waving over on if the lab techs working. “Have they found anything at all that could point to multiple killer?” He asked still acting and looking like he totally belonged here and as if he was a cop like everyone else on the scene.

Years of practice and following his dad around had given him this cop aura. But back to his question. It actually made sense seeing the pictures and the rest of the crime scene. There had nothing been found at the body it was ripped apart as if someone went wild on it. While this drawings and other things were meticulously organized and arranged pointing to an organized well controlled killer. While the body was suggesting someone uncontrolled and chaotic.

Still his question received a negative answer as the cops had no clues to more than one killer. “Then has there been anything found at the body?” He asked again. By his calculations to make this all one killer there had to be some clue on the body something he wasn’t sure what but there had to be some kind of clue there. With again a negative answer from the tech he nodded. “Thank you.”

It didn’t take him long to realizes what this meant something had to be there and if something had to be there but wasn’t then the only logical explanation was someone else took it of course the first person coming to his mind was the boy that asked for the origin of the pictures. With a low hum he got up and walked towards the kitchen guessing that the boy probably went in this direction to look for the origin of the pictures Kris had.

(So sorry Angel I had a slump in muse and needed a few days to recharge but now I’m back and I promise faster replies again~)

@✦ Kris Ten was so occupied by the note in his hand that he hadn’t noticed how long he was just squatting there, a hand on his chin as his eyes roamed across the phrases over and over. The message was some sort of clue or riddle, that much the male was certain, though of what meaning was the ultimate question as he tried to read between the lines. As big of a book lover he was, the metaphor and rhyme-like letter was too much for his brain to wrap around and comprehend, so he just heaved a sigh and held onto the paper slip for now.

“What are you doing in here?”

Ten jerked in surprise at the voice, quickly standing up and facing the man at the door — a forensic scientist whose brows were furrowed in confusion and disapproval. “Are you an investigator?”

“Yes,” was Ten’s immediate response, walking past the man and out of the room. “I was just done checking. You may proceed with your work.”

He could feel the man staring after him, though relaxed when no further enquiries were thrown as the person just went back to work, footsteps echoing into the room he was once in. He quickly made his way downstairs, unbothered to check the other rooms on the first floor since there were already other forensics inside them slaving away. He nodded in acknowledgement to a few passing investigators, though they didn’t take notice of him and just continued upwards, not realising that Ten was an odd ball among them and wasn’t supposed to be on this crime scene.

Ten made his way into the living room where he spotted a man sitting at a table swiping at his phone. He looked so natural and in his element, as if he was supposed to be there, and he thought briefly that the other could be another fellow investigator. He hadn’t seen the man while entering the house and passing by the others though, figuring it could be either because the man was some place else or he wasn’t paying good enough attention.

Either way, Ten didn’t allow his mind to wander too far. He had come here for what he needed- well, most of it, at least. He didn’t think there would be any more clues to be found, and so decided on taking his leave for now.

Ten passed by the male at the living table, briefly glancing at the phone he was holding. And that was when his legs froze, eyes fixated on the pictures shown on the screen. Now don’t those images look familiar to him?

Diagrams of Star of David and other magic circles, accompanied by a few brief shots of ingredients and tools used for Dark Arts. The pictures were mostly focused on the drawings, but the male had caught a bit of other items into the frame, confirming Ten’s suspicion on what they could possibly mean. This was no normal murder case — something bigger was going on.

“Where did you take these?” Ten asked without thinking, looking down at the seated man as he pointed to the pictures. “I want to see them for myself.”

@✦ Ten It was just too depressing and honestly it wasn’t even the corpse that was giving the felling he really couldn’t care less about that it was the damn place. Who would make a whole house out of such dark colours? Black wood dark stone and even the light was one of those barren looking lightbulbs that emitted only an ominous shine. If he didn’t know better, he would have bet that he had seen the exact lightbulb being used in some horror movie as a prob. This was definitely not a place he would chose to be but here he was. A body had dropped in Malum and though it wasn’t something new or suspicions this one had still some how hit his Mystery radar with a bright red.

With crossed arms and a slight frown, he was staring at the lightbulb before suddenly turning away with a growl. Yup it was the exact same type he had seen in the horror movie. And now that, that question had an answer attention on the victim. He called himself to order taking a closer look at the bloody rest of what probably once looked human. It was difficult to guess there were pieces missing parts that looked like they didn’t even belong there were laying around and everything was soaked in blood. Even the carpet he was standing on was squishing out blood with every step. Aside from that there was nothing to learn from the body so on to the next room.

Kris treated the whole thing like one of those puzzle games where you had to go through rooms and find clues and since room one held no clue, he soon moved to room two. It was chaos the chairs and tables fallen over everything in the place broken and nothing there that could give any hint at least not right away and since he didn’t have a lot of time he moved on again.

Finally, the next room or more like the back door from the kitchen to the garden held some answers. He quickly took out his phone taking as many pictures as he could from different angles to get everything and not miss anything of the strange patterns and diagrams drawn on the door and veranda in front of it. This was probably voodoo or other dark magic of some kind but he wasn’t versed in magic so he had no freaking idea what these were.

“If only someone knew dark magic.” Talking to himself he was sitting at the living room table ignoring the people around him. It clearly spoke for the Malum police that he could just sit there in the middle of a murder scene without being interrupted or even asked was he was doing here. In his heart he quietly pulled his imaginary head to them before going back to the symbols he had found.

@✦ Kris The residents crowding the front door made it slightly difficult for Ten to slip inside the house, though he still managed in the end with his slick agility and natural slimness. There were already a few forensics gliding to and fro collecting evidences while local investigators prowled the wooden tiles to find possible clues. Hushed whispers carried through the tense air as worried inhabitants grew skittish about this saddening occurrence which happened in their old village, wondering aloud about the why and what of the situation.

Ten made sure to stay out of the way of professionals working as he manoeuvred around the tiny cottage, silence tracing his steps as he brought himself further into the building. Chaos ensued with every corner he turned, as if a massive brawl had broken out as victim fought against the attacker, survival instincts rousing an animalistic behaviour which turned tables onto their sides and knocked vases to the ground in shattered pieces. Unfortunately, the end results of the battle was clear to all — if the workers in the living room was any proof to go by on the final turns of events amidst this havoc.

Planks creaked beneath his feet as Ten ascended the stairs to the first floor, taking in the sight of overturned nightstands and barely hanging paintings on the wall, lights flickering as the bulb stayed untwisted in its lamp. Iron hit his nostril before his eyes even found the source, feet instantly carrying him towards the smell, entering the only room with the door ajar. Instead of a corpse however, all he was greeted with was crimson, splatters on wall and drag marks on the ground, signs of a body being moved.

Ten didn’t leave the room however, his attention caught by a folded piece of paper lying out of the blue in the middle of the wreckage, white sheet a stark contrast to the dark wood and bloody mess. Carefully stepping forward, he picked up the paper tentatively, reading the note written inside, brows furrowing in confusion at the message. His eyes scanned the passage multiple times, but his mind could still not wrap around the meaning of such vague message, lips parting as he cussed out softly. “What on Earth is this?”

‘In the old old green of day and night the raven fall where you ever see the light.
Hair as red as the sun on the brightening of day
With a deep, deep feeling of the darkest today.’
