@baby mochi ₂ [] its ok cause mine is short too! Gotta get back into it after the muse being low for so long ahaha

“You know.. My biggest problem at one was deciding which flavour ramen I wanted to eat during my 5th Naruto binge.” An ugly snort escaped from Guk as he shook his head. God, those kinds of issues felt as if they were from a lifetime ago; not a month and a half. They felt so trivial too, now that he had much bigger things to worry about like maintaining a falling apart homestead in the middle of snowy season.

“That probably isn’t helpful” Jeongguk paused as he pondered what to say next to avoid offending Jimin. He had this vibe that his pink-haired companion was of the emotional sort and that was the absolute last thing that he wanted to do. “But I want you to know that your problem, whatever it might be, is still a problem. You’re entitled to feel however you want.” He finally said, reaching out to place a comforting hand on Jimins arm; hs touch didn’t linger but he retained a soft expression, hoping that he could convince Jimin that what he was feeling was perfectly ok.

“It’s ok if you don’t want to talk, I realise I’m probably one of the last people you wanna talk to given, um, our less than awesome circumtances..”

Jeongguk eyed the café table for a moment before standing up, adjusting his shirt as he looked down at Jimin. This place, great as it was, was definitely way too stuffy and if Jimin would let him, Guk had a great idea. Well.. An average idea but it was still an idea(he didn’t have many of those).

“But maybe you could do with a distraction? I was gonna try explore the mountain range behind the farm this afternoon. Did you want to come with? It might help having somebody who knows the area”

@big dave (magnum dong) (I'm so sorry babe that this is short I was typing this at 4 am and yeaahhh xD I just wanted to jump into thir interaction asap ;-; )

As Jimin was wallowing in his worries about his fight with his mother and his potential future in the town he picked at the apple pie with his fork and played with his food, was he usually like this every year? Maybe if he really thought about it, though the year would be ending soon and another year to him would be wasted away because he felt he wasn’t productive enough this year. He always felt like he could do more, put out more, help out more but at the end of the year he’d sit in his chair in his room and think ‘What did I do this year?’ and be depressed about it for weeks.

As he was sitting there, he heard a familiar voice and looked up, before he could even give the okay the farmer was sitting directly beside him instead of across from him, this was a particular detail to him. The farmer would rather sit beside him, he didn’t know why but that warmed his heart a little bit.

“S-Sure...” He muttered moreso to himself even though it was directed towards the other, he continued to pick at his food for a bit until he was asked some questions.

“Smokey huh?” He asked tilting his head a bit in thought, wondering how his cat would interact with a stray. She was generally a sweetheart, probably groom him clean and play with him. The thought made him smile a bit.

“She’s fine... She hasn’t went adventuring since that day a few weeks ago and when I left, she was sleeping lazily under the sunlight.” He smiled fondly thinking of her before setting his fork down and stares out the window.

Jimin pauses for a moment and looks back at him before looking at Dirk who was behind the counter then back at Jungkook. He runs a hand through his hair a bit and looks down.

“I don’t know how to talk about it, feels like a first world problem really... its no big deal.” He mumbled however being reminded of it made him sink back into those thoughts of just how utterly useless he might be and unconsciously pushes the slice of pie away again.

@baby mochi ₂ Today was most definitely a slack off kind of day.

It’d been a solid 2-3 weeks since he’d moved to the country side and each day had been filled with back-breaking work. The fruits of his labour weren’t as generous as he’d hoped though, he’d been laughed at by Vesta when he’d asked her why his strawberries weren’t growing and it seemed nobody had decided it important enough to tell a new farmer that crops were seasonal. Of course he couldn’t grow strawberries in Winter, nothing could grow.

He’d been angry that he’d wasted Jimins gift that he’d stormed off and chopped down perhaps the one thing he shouldn’t have; the fruit tree in the middle of his land. Oops. Either way, he’d been dealt a nasty hand at life recently and he felt like he needed a break.

And what better way to start off a lazy day then a nice cup of joe from the best(and only) cafe in town?

The door tinkled lightly as he walked in and almost as if he had a spider sense, Jeongguk glanced over at a one Jimin, who returned his glance with a decidedly neutrally displeased expression.

Oh dear, what had caused him to be in such a sour mood?

Joan gave him one of those beaming smiles that only old people managed to pull off to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside, Dirk offered his own little smile, already moving to the coffee machine. “Mornin’, what can I get you, farm boy?”

Jeongguk snorted at the jab, looking up at the cafe menu even though he knew he’d end up just getting his usual.

“Good morning, um, could I just grab a coffee?”

Dirk nodded and got to work to making the order. Joan mumbled about cakes burning in the back of the cafe and hurried off, her skirt swishing around her ankles. It was quiet that morning, only Jimin and an older couple that Guk didn’t recognise occupying the space. He found himself staring at the back of Jimins head, recognising that slumped posture and untouched dessert for what it was; sadness.

“Why’s he looking so gloomy?” Jeongguk kept his voice to a hush, leaning his weight on the counter. What did Jimin have to feel sad about anyways? In the least rude way possible but.. the guy was the unofficial prince of the town, he was adored and surely got everything he wanted. Dirk shrugged, pushing the cup of coffee across the counter. “It’s every year, we don’t really know why and nobody seems to get him outta his head until the end of the season”

Jeongguk hummed as he lifted his cup to his lips. “Great as always, thanks, man” He said, stepping away from the counter. There was plenty of room for him to sit but he made a bee-line for the boy he pined over instead.

“Jimin? Can I join you?”

Jeongguk sat down on the ottoman besides his pink haired companion, placing his teacup on the lace doily decorating the little coffee table. He only really thought that perhaps he should’ve waited for some kind of confirmation before making his place when Jimin gave him a levelled stare. His ears burned shamefully.

“You can tell me to buzz off if you’d prefer but you look kinda like you needed some company. Even if it’s just mine.”

A few second passed, no answer came though it could have been Jimin wanting to think of a polite way to tell Guk to off but he rolled with it anyway.

“So.. How is your cat? I, uh, I managed to find a little stray kitten the other day and he reminded me of yours. I called him Smokey cause he’s this dark grey colour, I was thinking that maybe I could introduce him to yours.” Jeongguk smiled at the mention of his new companion; he’d fit right in with the german shepherd that Takakura had gifted him with not even a few hours beforehand. The two animals certainly made a difference on his not so little farm.

“So Dirk said you’d been a little off recently, did you want to talk about it?”

@big dave It had been a few days since the incident, jimin wasn’t an absolute mess anymore. He went right back to normal helping his parents with their activities around town and making plans to work on the future event that was going on, it was a special event where people outside of town would come and set up shop at night, selling things you wouldn’t find in town and you get to make your own lantern and watch it flight off into the night and if all is successful the fireworks display goes off. It was only of Jimins favorite times, aside from the spooky event in fall, he definitely couldn’t wait to get all the candy in the world because everyone was so generous around that time. Though that was quite the understatement. Everyone in town was generous, even him even if he didn’t want to admit it.

It was early afternoon and JImin made his way to the cafe, today he was alone. No cat, no Lanna or Vaughn just him. He was sitting alone, his chin on his hands that rested atop the table.

“Here you go, sonny.” Jimin sits up and takes the plate of apple pie from Joan, the owner of the cafe. It was a quaint little spot that he really didn’t mind, he loved it here especially when Joan would give him generous (see?) helpings of slices to different sweets he’d order and personally deliver it herself even when she had Mirian and Dirk there.

“Thank you, Joan.” He smiled but it didn’t last long, he stared at the plate for a while before cutting into it and takes a bite with his fork. He then pushes it back as if he was done and rests his head back on the table. He was going through something, a lot on his mind about things that weren’t really things to worry about but they still bothered him.

Joan made her way back to the youngins’ and frowns, she couldn’t ignore Jimins behavior whatsoever.

“Dirk, do you have any idea whats going on with Jimin?” Joan asked pouring coffee into a mug and sits on the stool. Dirk who was behind the counter, tossed the rag he used to clean that very counter top over his shoulder and looks at the pink haired boy who looked like he had a ton on his mind.

“Honestly, doesn’t he get like this every year? Its always this time of year too. You’d think the kid whose got everything wouldn’t look like he’s got the world on his shoulders.” Miriam however whacked the back of his head and shakes her head.

“Remember, thats the son of the mayor, he might end up eventually becoming mayor one day too. Maybe he’s just…. stuck?” Miriam shrugged, Joan continued to frown and watches the boy.

However Jimin was more stuck on an argument he had with his mother earlier, whenever he fought with his mother he always felt down and genuinely wondered if he was just a waste of space. He sighs softly, his eyes shifting to the door as he heard the familiar ding and looks over meeting eyes with a certain farmer that returned his cat. He’d offer him a polite smile but right now he couldn’t even muster it.

“Oh poor dear, so down.” Joan tsk’d before pointing Dirk to the new customer.

@baby mochi ₂ Was this really love? Jeongguk hadn’t felt this dazed since he’d gotten that concussion back in high school. He was completely entranced with how pretty his lips looked when he spoke though his words fell on deaf ears(otherwise Guk would have protested with being accused of stealing a cat). “Sure..” Jeongguk said watched Jimins retreating form, he knew he looked like an idiot considering he could hear the snickering from the two standing a little ways down the road.

As soon as Jimin disappeared into his house, Jeongguk rushed over to the fountain. He experienced mild culture shock with how reflective the water was, fountains were rare enough in the city, much less as clean as this one. God, he looked like a right hick with his plaid shirt; at least his hair was semi decent, if a little greasy from sweat. He ran his fingers through his cowlick, brushing it away from his forehead until he got it as good as he could but wait— was that a pimple on his nose? “Jeez, of all the times..”

“You look fine!”

Jeongguk glanced up at the blonde girl who had her fingers shaped like a heart towards him. He ducked his head, blushing bright red as Jimin came back out sans cat but with a few small packets.

“O-oh, um, thank you” Jeongguk took the small packets with a pause. He hadn’t expected to receive a gif for doing something anybody would do. This seemed to be a town-wide habit, Jeongguk had noticed whenever he helped out, he’d receive some sort of small compensation usually in the form of seeds or fruit preserves.

While Jeongguk wasn’t exactly flush for cash but.. He couldn’t accept money like this but something told him that Jimin wouldn’t be the kind of person to take it back so easily.

“These are really nice, um, strawberries were on my to grow list” Why would Jimin care what he grew? “A-anyways, it’s alright, uh, I hope I see you around?” Jeongguk watched Jimin walk away to blondie and cowboy, the two glancing back at him as their conversation resumed. He stared down at the seeds in his hands.

Jeongguk hadn’t been planning on starting crops just yet, he’d wanted to keep doing odd jobs around town to raise money to renovate his ranch. Part of him knew not planting any crops was because he wanted to put off actually committing to his new role for a little while longer but now he actually had a reason; somebody to impress. Could a boy like Jimin, who so clearly had nothing to do with the manual labour life, be impressed by Jeongguk the dirty farm boy?

Speaking of his farm, it was probably time to head back. Weeds grew crazy fast on the fields, at least five new bushels seemingly popping up each morning.

It was just after midday by the time Jeongguk had walked back to his farm and gotten to work. A couple hours, one sandwich break and another hour of filling up his rusted watering can later and he was the proud owner of 18 new plots filled with seeds.

He felt quite satisfied with himself. Even though his shirt was drenched in sweat and his muscles were gonna ache like a in the morning, Guk had to admit that planting these crops was actually quite fun.

There were some packets of turnips and potatoes in his ranch but.. Jeongguk couldn’t stop thinking about pink hair and the sweet voice that paired with it(and perhaps the fact that Jimin had possibly the /bubbliest/ Jeongguk had seen in his life, wow). Takakura had told him the other morning that his days would be filled with nothing but work, work, work.

But if Jeongguk decided to spend the rest of the afternoon daydreaming about the beautiful boy from town.. Well, he could just tell Takakura that his hoe was broken.

@big dave Ever since Jimin was adopted by mayor Felix and Ina when he was a baby, he had the entire towns attention even to this day. Jimin’s good looks and pink hair and his strong personality made him the perfect candidate to follow in his fathers footsteps and become the next mayor… honestly Jimin wouldn’t mind being mayor. It kept you busy and on your toes, he didn’t need to be lazing about, however he didn’t know just how spoiled he was and he was going to find out relatively soon. Upon getting up he heard from his parents that a new resident of town would be coming in soon, it was too bad that his attention was towards something more important.

His best friend was missing.

Snowball, a sweet girl she was, would always go missing this time of the year. She liked to go hunting and would get herself roughed up and dirty from her adventures, Jimin wished he could go with her on her ventures but he really couldn’t, he was too busy helping out around town. This venture for Snowball was different, everyone was used to finding Snowball and returning her back to Jimin within a days time… she was missing for a few days and Jimin was an emotional wreck, crying for his beloved friend to return to him because he hadn’t had the strength to be strong without her, he felt weak without her.

It was Spring 3rd, the third day that she had been missing and Jimin was depressed, his heart was already black and cold enough as it is and now the only thing that even shed a light of kindness and love from Jimin is gone and no one knew if she was even alive, Mayor Felix was starting to panic now because Jimin would lock himself in his room after running errands and bury himself away in his room and do the only other thing that made him happy… painting. His paintings often sold a lot to people out of town but these last few days, he’s been painting mediocre work and was too depressed to even pick up the brush, now his mother was worried. So she did what mothers do best.

“Go outside!” She scolded folding her arms. “If you are so distraught over Snowball go find her yourself! I already contacted Lanna and Vaughn for you.” Jimin wanted to cry, he didn’t want to go outside and search for her in case he did find her somewhere in a ditch or something. She quickly drags him outside once she got the notice that his best friends were outside waiting for him. “Go! Go stretch your legs and get some fresh air!” Jimin flinches lightly, he felt bad for upsetting his mother, though its where he got his strong personality from.

“Don’t worry, Mochi! We’ll help you find him.” Mochi was a nickname only a select few were allowed to call him, only four people called him that: his parents, Lanna and Vaughn. They were the only people Jimin was genuinely kind to and loved. The entire day went by and they did not find Snowball whatsoever, Jimin was standing outside his house and had his head in his hands in frustration, they tried, they really did to look in every nook an cranny for his cat but to no avail, she was nowhere to be found.

“Don’t worry! at least you know she’s still alive somewhere, right Lanna?” Vaughn placed his hand on the others shoulder and frowns seeing Jimin so stressed over his cat, if it was up to him he would’ve bought a new cat for him from the ranch and called it a day but he knew Snowball meant more to him than some other cat. However Lanna’s attention was on something else, to which caught Vaughns attention.

“Jimin!” She whisper yelled,

“Behind you, its some man.” She whispered, waving her hand to him aggressively for him to turn around. Jimin blinks and turns around to face a tall, dark and handsome young man in a farmers getup from head to toe. What a shame, if he took better care of himself he might’ve actually been Jimins type. Though right now was not the time for that because once his pale gray eyes landed on the ball of white fluff resting lazily in the males arms with a happy grin and was purring Jimin couldn’t stop himself.

“Love.” Was the first thing to me out of the strangers mouth but Jimin couldn’t hear him over the sound of his beating heart in his ears. A whimper escaped his lips and his eyes started to well up as he watched his cat open and close her paws, something she did when she was happy and comfortable. Vaughn sighed in relief while Laney covered her lips with her hand realizing the situation faster than she should’ve.

“Come on, Lanna, let’s give these two some privacy.” Vaughn tugged on Lanna’s sleeve with a smirk and guides her back to town while Jungkook continued to make an absolute wreck of himself in front of a very uniquely looking emotional boy. Jimin took a deep breath and held his arms out for the cat.

“Give her to me!” He managed to say, and snags her carefully out of the males hand and holds her up.

“Why did you run away? What are these obnoxious adventures you go on that you disappear for days?!” He asked the cat as if she could really answer, Snowball was completely unbothered and only Jimins cheek. Jimin sniffles lightly and uses sleeve over his oversized hoodie to wipe teary wet face.

“What?” He asked giving the other an annoyed look, how could he tell him not to lose his cat? its not like he purposely lost the cat in the first place. Jimin snuggled and kissed his cat who only closed her eyes in bliss that her owner was so affectionate as usual even after her long ventures. He sighed softly, he didn’t have the energy to be a pompous prick to the new guy but best believe that they weren’t friends just because he found his beloved.

“The… farmer right?” He asked softly, he was still on high alert against this person, wondering if he had taken Snowball for something.

“What do you want? Money? Did you keep her and bring her back for that?” Jimin asked, not like it wasn’t true, he often rewarded people money to whoever found her.

“Wait here.” He said sternly, Jimin walks through the door of his home and sets her down on the couch and goes to grab a few things.

When he comes back he holds an envelope of money and two packs of spring seeds.

“Its not much but… thanks for bringing her back in any case.” Jimin folded his arms, since he wasn’t holding her he didn’t know what to do with his hands. Often fidgety when his hands were left without anything to do.

“I’m Jimin… good luck with the farm then.” He said taking a step back but pauses. "I don't... know what I would've done without her.... thank you."

@baby mochi ₂ [] i kept the location kind of vague and included characters from multiples games to keep it fairly open uwu 1/2

Moving was always an incredibly nerve wracking experience. After 22 years of unsteady living, Jeon Jeongguk was hoping this would be the last time he’d ever need to go through this process. With the rather recent death of his father(and last living relative), he felt uncertainty looming over him. Amir, a resident of the little farming community he was travelling too, was a close friend of Jeongguks fathers and he’d kindly offered to help with the move. Jeongguk found himself mildly regretting accepting as a few hours into the trip, Amir had not stopped making comments about Jeonghyun. Not that Jeongguk was particularly affected by the passing of his estranged father not did he oppose a good conversation, he just simply had too much on his mind.

He was moving to a new place, for a new career, to try ensure a legacy he wasn’t even sure he wanted for a family member he’d not spoken to in years. To say he was nervous would have been an understatement.

Admittedly he’d found a sense in liberation at the opportunity in moving away from the big city.

Guk’s best friend, Taehyung, was far more supportive about this decision than he’d be anticipating. He’d explained it was because Jeongguk had been in a rut for the last year, he’d hated seeing his best friend so aimless and depressed. Even though a lot of tears had been shed, Taehyung had gone through the trouble of putting together a new wardrobe(farmer chic, he called it), helping Jeongguk budget for the next few months while he worked, and some basic essentials like bedding, cookware and toiletries to save costs while he got started.

Of course he’d been dubious about Jeongguk, a city slicker, making it as a farmer(“Seriously? Why would you want to do that?” Taehyung had asked after Guk had revealed his desires) but when Jeongguk had held firm, he’d switched his attitude to that of a mother hen.

Honestly.. Jeongguk had his own doubts. The only way to find out if his fears were true was to confirm them himself.

Jeongguk sighed, leaning back against the seat. The truck rambled along the cobblestone road, the radio quietly blasting country music that made his eyes feel heavy. The sun wasn’t too high in the sky yet and the rolling countryside provided a calming scenic route; it was coming towards the end of winter so frost still lightly coated the soon to be evergreen landscape. He could feel himself growing tired.

Amir did say the trip would take a few hours so a nap wouldn’t be too bad.

*****

“—Gguk? Jeongguk?”

“Hm?” Jeongguk bolted awake, startled by Amirs voice.

“Mighty sorry, my boy, but our little cross country trip is at its end. We’re here.”

Jeongguk blinked sluggishly, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes to survey their surroundings. He felt his heart sink. .

“Oh god, are you serious?”

*****

A thin man in overalls and a straw brimmed hate by the name of Takakura had been waiting for Jeongguk and Amir at the farm with a kind smile on his face. He’d introduced himself as another one of Jeongguks fathers friend and his closest neighbour, living about 10 kilometres down the dusty road that they’d arrived on. Jeongguk vaguely remembered opening his eyes at one point when they passed the little ranch style cottage.

Amir helped Jeongguk unload the many suitcases he’d had before setting back off to town; Jeongguk had tipped the man generously for his help and promised to have a drink with him in a few weeks after getting settled. He was a nice man, if a bit chatty.

Takakura, on the other hand, was the complete opposite.

He was quite happy to show Jeongguk around the main area of the farm. Takakura had let Jeongguk know that things on the farm were upgradeable in time, that there were a few areas blocked off as final touches were still in progress. “A few welcome gifts from the town.. Your father had set aside some money for these surprises and we’ve loaned a bit of extra money to help finish them off..” He’d said when they’d paused beside a walkway leading off into one of the forests surrounding the farm. When they’d come back to Jeongguks new ranch, Takakura went and retrieved a basket from his truck.

“Now, I’m sure you’ve had a long day. I’ve gone ahead and made lunch for us as well as some dinner for you to have. Best to his the hay early, waking up early is the way to go here!”

*****

After Takakura had taught Jeongguk some of the basics of farming, he’d finally let his dismay show when the truck was out of sight.

One thing Jeongguk had seemed to carry over from his life in the city was a love for things being made easy. He was a lazy guy and the chaos in front of him.. Was daunting, to say the least. The fields were covered in weeds and fallen branches from dead trees that dotted the landscape, there was only one barn but the building was half collapsed, the watering pond was filled with much but worst of all, the ranch was in shambles.

He stared on, horrified, at the sheer amount of work he had to do. The most physical work he’d ever done before were his daily gym sessions but even he knew that this would be a feat in and of itself.

The work wasn’t going to do itself though, Jeongguk needed to get started asap if he wanted to make this a worthwhile experience. He spent the first week of his new career clearing out the fields, he’d come close to having a tree fall on him multiple times but the end result was totally worth it. By the time Spring 2nd rolled around, his veggie fields were cleaned, the fish pond was sparkling like glass under the spring sky and his ranch, while still disgusting and was in dire need of renovations, wasn’t a dust filled hole anymore. Jeongguk didn’t even want to go near the barn, that thing would have to go as soon as possible.

On Spring 3rd, Jeongguk made his first venture into town. He met Doug, the innkeeper, who suggested he check out the western part of town where all the shops were. Jeongguk found himself enamoured with the lush countryside setting, and the quaint charm of the town itself.

One of his friends, Abigail, had a a job back at a zoo in the city. While Abby had a flair for exotic wild life, Guk had always preferred livestock. He had been shocked to see the amount of wild animals running around the more lush pockets of town; rabbits, foxes, birds and butterflies everywhere. He had never seen anything like it before. One special occasion was that he’d witnessed was a (he soon learned from Takakura) harvest sprite coaxing a timber wolf out of the trees for some young children to pet.

“Is this real?” He’d said to himself quietly.

“No, sir” A young woman voice answered in a southern drawl “That right there is a genuine friendly wolf”

Jeongguk turned his attention to the voice, to find a pretty girl with a blonde braid and youthful exuberance about her. She were overalls over a yellow t shirt, he instantly recognised her as Ann; Doug the Innkeepers daughter. They’d met briefly when he’d been buying seeds from Vesta.
“It’s rude of me to stare, I’m sorry” Jeongguk apologised, clasping her hand in his for a handshake.

“Howdy.. John Cook? No, pardon me, Jeongguk! Papa’s been buggin’ me to get to know ya!” Ann smiled toothily, stepping up close to him. He spied a pale blush dusting her cheeks. “Papa didn’t mention you were a real looker!”

Jeongguk cleared his throat awkwardly, mumbling a quiet thanks at the compliment. He didn’t detest it but he was a bit of an awkward fellow in general and Anns forwardness(a trait that seemed to be shared with her father) was a new experience.

“So, has anyone given you the grand tour yet?” Ann asked.

“No, not yet.. I’m kind of just going with the flow and wandering around. I thought it’d be a good way to meet the residents.”

Ann nodded though she looked disappointed that Jeongguk hadn’t taken her hint. He’d seen through it straight away but he wasn’t particularly interested; not in her nor anybody else he’d met so far. “Oh- Ok, well, if ya ever need a hand, ya know where ta find me!” Ann masked her dismay with a smile, Jeongguk returning the favour before he said his farewells.

On his walk, Jeongguk passed by the post office where he met a man named Elliot behind the counter and a couple of girls named Sabrina and Elli. Sabrina was the local librarian, she was incredibly pretty with her long black hair and was asian like him, Elli on the other hand was more plain with her short brown hair but her eyes held an intelligence that came from being a nurse. Elliot was a semi-new resident, only having taken over the post office with his family three years ago, he was a red head and was on the quieter side. Their meeting was entirely pleasant(they’d even invited him out to dinner the upcoming weekend) and Jeongguk left feeling happy that he’d met some residents more his age.

Jeongguk had come to find that while the residents were diverse in their appearance and manner, there weren’t very many of them, the majority were also in their mid 30’s and up. Life here seemed to be based on communal friendship and tranquility, something that Jeongguk could get behind.

His next destination that afternoon had been to go to the local cafe for a mid afternoon cup of coffee but on his way, Jeongguk had been startled by a white streak coming towards him.

“Woah!”

Jeongguk stumbled back as a white cat full on tackled him, his arms automatically coming to close around the ball of fluff to save him from falling. “Er.. Well, hello there..” Jeongguk said, blinking down at the cat who wiggled in his arms. It was quite the change to have him purring and nuzzling Guk compared to his zoom down the road but, like, where had the cat come from? “I can’t even tell if you’re a boy or girl.. And Snowball doesn’t exactly help” He’d been hoping the pink and blue(of course) collar around the cats neck would lend him an idea but Snowball remained deceptively ambiguous.

“So where’d you come from, little thing? You run away from home?” Jeongguk smiled, smoothing down the cats fur. “Lets see if we can find your owner..” Guk headed in the direction the cat had come from, occasionally pausing to ask people passing by if they knew who owned the cat. On his fourth attempt, a girl called Laney(why were all the people his age unfairly attractive?) had giggled and pointed to a cluster of rich looking homes. “You’re looking for Jimin, you’ll find him around there!” Jeongguk thanked her for her help, tightening his grip on Snowball as he walked to the wealthy district of town.

The houses here were stunning; all at least two stories high, surrounded by private gardens blooming flowers the colours of rainbows. It was a far cry from his own run down farm. Eventually, he came upon a crossroads that featured a marble fountain in the middle. There was where he found a cluster of people; a blonde girl wearing a rather fancy green dress, a fellow who looked as if he’d walked straight out of a western and another boy with pink hair who was facing away from him.

The girl noticed his approach, her attention going straight to the cat in his arms. Her eyes widened as she tapped the pink haired boy on the shoulder, mouthing something Jeongguk couldn’t hear. He had the half beginnings of a smile on his face at having found Jimin but that all faded away when the pink haired boy turned around.

He was absolutely breathtaking.

Jeongguk stopped right in front of the pink haired boy, not hearing anything the other two observers said as he was distracted by the beauty in front of him. “Love..” Jeongguk stuttered, blushing bright red as cowboy and model gave him strange looks. Oh god, he looked like an absolute idiot. Fix it! Fix it! “Um… I have, uh, your, your cat..” He mumbled quietly, his voice cracking on the last consonant. Cowboy smirked slightly, tugging on the girls sleeve “Come on, Lanna, let’s give these two some privacy.”

Yes please.

No, wait, no! Don’t leave him alone! He was making a fool out of himself already!

Jeongguk shuffled awkwardly, glancing at his feet as he held out Snowball for Jimin to take. His heart was beating uncomfortably fast, and he might be sweating. Was he sweating? Yes, he was definitely sweating. “Um, don’t— don’t lose Snowball again.” Why would he say that!? He sounded like a complete jackass! “I mean! Sorry, sorry, I didn’t meant to sound like that, I just meant.. Uh.. You know what? Let me start over.” Jeongguk rushed through his apology, clearing his throat awkwardly(again) “I’m, uh ,Jeongguk. I’m n-new.”
