⋰ armoury

armoury.
the armoury provides both weaponry and protection to the demigods of camp halfblood. when first entering the camp, each demigod is directed here to find the weapon that best suits them(the process is simple, you will know in your heart what your weapon feels like).

afterwards, it is the place where you can buff and polish your weapon, make a secondary one and practise with other styles. you can find the children of hephaestus here working away on new armour and weapon prototypes.

@p. seonghwa Dove frowned rubbing the back of her neck at the mention of her cabin mates "Well uh..." she gulped and looked away "I'm kind if solo in my cabin. I mean" she shrugged "my mother hasnt claimed anyone else so.... I dont have cabin mates"

She sighed and moved to the window once again to try and see if there was something they could do.

(Its ok. Sorry mine was shorter. I just am having a hard time thinking today but I dont wanna leave it cause I will end up forgetting so I hope its ok. If you need me to try again I will on another day. Sorry again)

@c. dove [] argh this is short, i had a bit of a blank, sorry! let me know if you want me to re-write!

“No, I’m fine.” He replied after a few tense moments, his posture unclenching ever so slightly as he breathed in the musty air. “I just hate it when like this happens. It’s annoying as hell” Seonghwa muttered, moving back to his original box and sitting back down, leaning against a column. Now that his initial freak out was over, he felt a little more at ease(ooc: lol at ease = ateez, i’m a genius) though he tapped his fingers against his arm to provide some sort of distraction from the situation.

Seonghwa snorted, giving Dove a dry amused look as he responded to her comment “I tend to skip dinner most days. Me not being there won’t be anything new”

“it’s up to your cabin mates, I guess”
c. dove 3 years ago
@p. seonghwa Dove didnt let his snapping phase her. In fact for once she was glad she was a councillor. It gave her the ability to remain calm while Seonghwa freaked out.
Instead of joining him in his little meltdown Dove sat and waited calmly.
When he did settle a little she asked carefully "Do you need more space? I can move some of the armor stands back a bit and tidy up the boxes to one side." She was testing if it was claustrophobia or simply hates being locked in. Which she completely understood. She wasnt particularly bouncing with joy.
"I know being stuck in here is not good but others will know we're missing. Specially at dinner at least one person will have to notice you're not there." She said trying to be positive. She was the shadow girl. Most people didnt know when she was there so they wouldnt know if she wasnt.
p. seonghwa [A] 3 years ago
@c. dove “If i had an idea, I’d have done it by now” Seonghwa snapped, stepping back from the door, running his hands through his hair outta frustration. ing hell. He hated being in enclosed spaces. It wasn’t claustrophobia but a few moments in his history of being trapped in locked rooms had left a less than stellar impact on him over the years. “Sorry, this is.. nerve wracking.” He muttered, bringing his hand to his mouth to chew on his nail. There wasn’t even an alternative way out of this place; the only door was to prevent anybody from sneaking in and stealing weapons that weren’t meant to be used.

What were they supposed to do? Sit and wait? That was probably going to be the most likely option. The issue with that was that nobody would even think that they were missing until hours from now when it was dinner time and(at least for him), the head counsellors would check off their respective siblings. “Gods this is the worst..”
c. dove 3 years ago
@p. seonghwa (Thats grand I probably would have done the same :) )

Dove noticed him cleaning up and getting ready to go. She just smiled as she was almost done anyway and she knew enough about him to know he'd feel awkward saying goodbye. She had just finished the last arrow and was putting them away when she heard him "What?" She rubbed her hands off on her jeans as she moved to the door. It wasnt that she didnt believe him, it was more she couldnt believe it actually happened. Looking out she saw them too and frowned "Damn" she chewed her lip as she tried to see if it was simply locked or if the Romans had also blocked the door. It did open out after all.
"Damn. I cant see the outside of the door from here" she grummbled. The window was placed in a good location for seeing the camp, but a poor location for seeing the door of the armoury. Looking to Seonghwa she said softly "Any ideas?"
p. seonghwa [A] 3 years ago
@c. dove [] ended up skipping to them finding out they’re locked inside!

Seonghwa exhaled a sigh when Dove did not respond, tension easing out of his body all at once. They continued to work in silence, which he was grateful for, until just under an hour later, he was setting aside his final chest-late onto the armour rack and Dove was polishing the last few arrowheads. Admittedly he ended up being relieved that she’d been here to help out because there’d been more work than he’d expected but right now, he just wanted to get away and hole himself up in his room. Not sensing any reason to stay, Seonghwa washed his hands clean off grit in a basin and made his way to the door. Should he say goodbye? no, there was no need. Seonghwa pulled on the door lightly but paused when it didn’t budge, frowning down as he tried again with more force. Nothing. “You’ve got to be kidding me..” He muttered, looking out the grime covered window and oh— He caught a glimpse of some purple shirts stepping away from the door and laughing as they left. “Oh for s sake!” Seonghwa cursed, not bothering to keep his voice down. “Those Roman s locked us in”

( anyone can reply <3 if you want! )

jiwoo shuffled into the armoury, though she'd been here a while, it was still really weird being around all these people. She'd been so busy fixing other people's clothing or helping others that she hadn't actually worried about protecting herself. She knew nothing about who she was or who her own godly mother was, but she seemed so at home in this camp, full of her fellow demigods. Looking around quietly, she scanned her eyes over the walls of weapons, none of them really screamed at her and begged for her attention until her eyes landed on one specific weapon. It seemed to call her name, moving forward, she grabbed it, running her hand over the black colored metal of the crossbow. "Wow." She whispered, pointing it at a wall, it felt so normal, like she'd known all her life how to hold this weapon. Putting it down again, she smiled. "Yes, you're definitely the one. "
c. dove 3 years ago
@p. seonghwa Dove noticed his discomfort so she decided to instead simply nod and hum her agreement as she went back to scrubbing. Unlike most of her fellow campers Dove wasnt put out by the arrival of the Romans. She was more intrigued. Her curiosity bubbling underneath the surface. She wanted to know them, to know what it is like for them. See what they have thats the same and whats different and learn from them. However, her fellow campers were opposed to getting to know the Romans and so Dove felt that she would have to remain in the shadows. If she made nice with the 'enemy' maybe her comrades would think she betrayed them and that would crush her completely.
p. seonghwa [A] 3 years ago
@c. dove Seonghwa caught the scrubber, the back of his neck burning from the interaction. He could still feel his heart pounding and that nauseous swirling in his stomach didn’t pass as quickly as he’d like. “What?” He replied, glancing over at Dove as she spoke to him. Hwa blinked, a little frown line appearing between his brows. , he shoulda known his speaking would have started a conversation. “I guess. Those.. Romans.. Are a ruthless bunch. To put it lightly” Seonghwa didn’t bother to hide the distaste from his tone. He, like many others, did not enjoy the newcomers presence. He disliked everybody but them.. Gods, they made him feel angrier then he’d ever felt before.
c. dove 3 years ago
@p. seonghwa (No problem)

Dove hadnt been paying much attention to her comrade, she knew Seonghwa liked his solitude so she wouldnt force chit chat on him. Being lost in thought as she calmly continued to clean the plate in her arm. When he spoke it surprised her, she was only glad he cleared his throat first otherwise he would have frightened her. "Hm?" She looked around her for another scrubber and spotted the one at her foot "Oh. Yeah sure" she picked up the scrubber and lightly tossed it over "there's a lot more to clean tonight huh?" She said casually
p. seonghwa [A] 3 years ago
@c. dove [] no need to apologise! i'm probably gonna be posting the same length too to be able to keep on top of things!

Surprisingly enough, cleaning after a combat match was one of Seonghwas favourite things to do. Mainly because it allowed him to get away from others before they got too.. touchy, and he could be alone; generally he would always request to be the one to clean the dirty armour by himself but today had been particularly brutal, the romans had proven to be formidable enemies and both sides suffered more wounds than usual. It resulted in the decision to have another person help out with cleaning. Seonghwa hadn't been too happy, to say the least, but at least the girl(who he thinks might be named Dove? he always remember her for being named after his technically grandmas favourite animal) wasn't the worst option. Seonghwa tossed out his steel scrub after it became too dirty to continue, looking around his immediate area for another one. . Ok, there was one by Doves feet that hadn't been opened yet. Hwa swallowed, subtly scratching his leg, clearing his throat before he spoke "Pass me that scrubber?"
c. dove 3 years ago
@p. seonghwa It had been a tough training session, everyone had fought hard and now it was time to clean up for dinner. It was dove's turn to put away the weapons and armour, making sure everything in the armoury was clean and put away neatly. Everything needed to be battle ready and easy access incase they were ever attacked. Of course some of the demigod's had their own special weapons or armour and they kept that in their own cabins, but there was always the general stuff which lived here in the armoury.
Dove wasn't alone in the clean up however, Seonghwa had also been assigned to clean up today.
Sighing Dove sat down with a bucket of hot water and a cloth to scrub blood off a few chest plates that lay on the floor next to her. Everything had to be clean and while most campers remembered to clean it themselves, there were always a few who would forget or get distracted by celebration of a victory if the training involved some sort of competition.

@s. seungwan [sorry for this late reply orz]

“I believe it’s called respect, Miss--?”
‘ah , what was her name again?’

Shaking his head as to not dwell much on the forgotten name, he took a leisure walk around the armory to retrieve a gray and blue colored box, in the human world it’d look like a normal utility box but in their world, it was a box comprised of different tweaking tools gifted by different Gods although not directly to him… he had to travel across a couple of countries to get them from their original whereabouts, there’s one from Athena, one from Hermes, another from Haepestus and the list just goes on. “you clearly got that impression embedded on my mind, forever” he mumbled unsure if the other person heard him or not, he once heard about a privilege demigod and by how this woman in front of him declared a short peak of his personality, maybe it was her.

Holding the big box, Jaehyun went back to his station and dropped the object against the rustic-wooden table. He gave the other an exhausted look before reaching out to take the weapon from her and although quite stubborn at the moment, he followed obediently at where she pointed at, afterward, taking the piece of paper from her grasp to examine it himself. “duh, of course, I can. The real question is, will I?” he smirked cockily, he was just teasing – testing how far the patience of Apollo’s daughter goes. “kidding aside… do you want to just be as they are or want me to put other stuff? Like, maybe glitter? Paint? Poison?”

@k. seulgi She sighed as the other threw her knife to the target but it didn't reached the center, but she's learning. Joohyun throws a smile at her but it is not enough for the other to be proud of. She stood up from the trunk, "You're learning, but you need a little bit more focus, do it again." She told the other. "It may take time, but I spend five years to perfected the way of throwing it." Joohyun opened up to her and when the other was going to throw a knife again, she interfered quickly.

"Ah ah-- I told you, your throw is a bit weird." She told her with a smile before looking at her while fixing her body make an almost-perfect-throw. She can see that her eyes were full of mystery, yet she is not yet claimed. Joohyun should be the first one to see her getting claimed if that happened. After she fixed her posture on throwing, she stepped back and smiles, "Now clear your mind again and focus on the target." She told her with a proud smile.
k. seulgi 3 years ago
@b. joohyun “If only it were that easy..” Seulgi muttered more to herself than the other. Her eyes watched Joohyun throw the knife with ease. At the state she was in, Seulgi felt as though it would be impossible to have a steady hand to control the knife. But Joohyun wanted her to try so she’d do her best. “Hm...okay..” she sighed out, taking a deep breath as she reached to her thigh holster, pulling out another blade.

With a fierce glare, Seulgi eyed the target—the other knife in particular. Her goal was to mimic the perfect hit. Another deep breath was taken in, then released before Seulgi brought the knife up and behind her head; getting the momentum to send it flying to her target. A subtle ‘whoosh’ could be heard as the blade flew and the ‘thunk’ of it hitting the target drew a slight groan from her lips. “Well...that was better than before I guess.” Seulgi said, turning to look at Joohyun. Her knife hadn’t hit the center, it landed on the outer ring surrounding the middle two of the target—and that was pure luck. It was clear her mind still wandered as she stood there, arms crossed in irritation.
b. joohyun 3 years ago
@k. seulgi She chuckled a bit at her response before getting her other knife, "Then clear your mind, the best focus is to put aside all you have been thinking right now." Then she quickly throws her knife to the throwing range and hits exactly at the bullseye before looking back at her. Showing how the right throw looks pretty hard but Joohyun had been in a camp for longer than she could remember, "See? It takes practice. You can always count on me when you need any assistance." Then she sat on a fallen trunk then gestured her to give it a try. "Go on, clear your mind at this very moment and only focus is on the point right there." She pointed the shooting range where she throws her knife in the center.

Knife throwing is harder than any range weapons, they have the right precision and angle to make a hit. It might take a while to perfected the way to throw with it, but Joohyun took five years to perfect her knife throwing and made her own way of it. She can only do it when it is necessary. She looked at Seulgi, watching her getting her knife again and was about to throw the knife.
k. seulgi 3 years ago
@b. joohyun Once finished with her sharpening Seulgi let out a deep sigh. Lately her mind had been jumbled with confusion and questions. She knew that if she didn’t stop herself that she would fall into a pit of despair. Yes, she had a handle on her emotions but if not careful then she could still slip up. Allowing herself to get worked up over the uncontrollable was a sure fire way to her breaking. With that in mind, she tried her best to focus on honing her skills. She started practicing her throw on nearby targets. It was clear her head wasn’t in it because with each flick of silver, the knives thrown became more sloppy.

The voice of a female talking to her gave her a bit of a jump. Her eyes watched the others blade intercept her own before turning to face her. Joohyun has been the first she met at camp, since she was currently residing in Hermes cabin. She had been around a lot and Seulgi still hesitated with sharing too much, but found it somewhat comforting to see a constant familiar face.
“I’m not exactly in the right mindset.” She said with a slight shrug of her shoulder. How could she perfect her throw when there was so much on her mind. “It’s hard to focus with all the change lately.” Her voice trailed of, giving the short yet true response to her camp mate.
b. joohyun 3 years ago
@k. seulgi It has been a few weeks since new unclaimed had been overrun their cabin, she couldn't keep it still as though she is the toughest head counselor of the Hermes cabin. Most of the unclaimed are getting along with her and the other Hermes kids but one is standing out to be the loner, the unclaimed named Seulgi. Chiron discussed more about her when another briefing with the head counselors had been done, she is a trouble child-- what he means that she had been experiencing mental breakdowns and hysteria which only rare of the demigods experiencing. Since Joohyun had to take responsibility of any of the unclaimed, she had to keep track of them, especially her. She went to the armoury to talk with the weapon bearer, ordering her custom-made knives for a target practice, she saw the girl walking to the secluded part of the armory which is where some demigods wanted the harder mode of knife throwing.

She buckled up her two knife holsters to both of her thighs before heading towards the direction where the unclaimed went and she had been throwing a knife before Joohyun leaning against the trunk, seeing her moves on throwing the knives. It was a bit slow which she crunches her nose before getting her non-pointy knife from her holster and throws it to the direction of her knife before it intercepts the other. "Your throw was a bit weird." She told the other before walking closer to her and smiles.

@b. joohyun The armory always seemed to be buzzing with commotion. Demigods ran around eagerly prepping for battle or learning a new skill. Everyone seemed to know their place. This was intimidating, but not a foreign feeling for Seulgi. Adjusting to camp half-blood came naturally to her. In a way, it mimicked her life on the outside world. The people surrounding her knew their place; while she watched from the outside. Being unclaimed wasn’t uncommon at the camp, but Seulgi wasn’t a social butterfly. It seemed as though no one was particularly interested in getting to know her. And she made no efforts to join the ever growing ‘family.’ She heard whispers about her uninviting demeanor and thought it would be best to keep to herself. So as the camp carried on with their lives she still struggled to start her own.

Seulgi sat in a more secluded area of the armory, her focus directed to the task before her. The one thing she had found a love for was training. Being unclaimed didn’t mean she had to be powerless. Sure she had no defining abilities, but what she lacked in mystical power she made up for in physical strength. As she sharpened her mini bo-kri set, her thoughts drifted to the past few weeks. Uprooting her life and moving to the camp had been a blessing, but she was advised to dig into her past to see if anything stood out. Anything at all that would help in figuring out her deity; but she came up blank every time. This was frustrating to say the least, so Seulgi sat there in deep thought. Her weapons being modified as she dug deeper into her memories for clues.

@s. seungwan It was far from his best interest to help out.. anyone really, but what he ought to accomplish is to make sure every single weapon functions smoothly, every upgrade are installed with state of the art parts- even their godly parents would be jealous of the power a single object could hold. And maybe it wasn't the best idea to actually bicker with an apollo kid, this one in front of him is a good example as to why; they're usually cheery and optimistic, too persistent if he was to ask and those traits are just... exhausting for him. What a lazy and unsuspenseful bum, one might think.

"huh?" Jaehyun secured the safety pin and gave the umbrella a couple of twirls and quick inspection before handing it over to the latter "uhm, what do you mean needles? you have to be more specific because I'm finding this object ridiculous enough" he mumbled the last part in hopes that his snide comment didn't reach her ears.
s. sebastian 3 years ago
@s. seungwan It was tough enough to hold his pride back and tame the boastfulness that's threatening to come out but he is reminded of a thing that someone told him not long ago "people don't like douchebags, hold your horse and keep it cool", thanks to his father he has a brain that could grasp a bit of advice as awful as that, but hey, he has yet to see if it does actually help.

Swallowing thickly, he bitterly took the object from the other's hand and just by the faint brushing of their thumbs he immediately caught a quick glimpse of her background, well, more like a brief flash of light which revealed her heritage... "apollo" he mumbled to himself, quickly shaking his head as soon as the light vanished; it's something that doesn't usually happen, only on certain people that he meets, what could it possibly mean?

Jaehyun shut his eyes momentarily, letting out an exasperated sigh of annoyance, he made sure to compose himself and not fight with a "girl" anymore. "look, if you're gonna tell me how to do my job then maybe you should get out of this place and find yourself a b e t t e r one, okay?" it took a great amount of strength for him to deliver that in the calmest way possible. "anyway..." he continued as he disabled the handle of the umbrella, "you see this thing?" he pointed at a spiral spring with wirings wrapped around it and pushed it a few times "so most of the function of your umbrella relies on this thing because it /is/ the safety pin of this... weapon of yours, if I take this out then your umbrella is just gonna be an ordinary shield from the sun"
s. sebastian 3 years ago
@s. seungwan 'oh no, that's a look I'm fairly familiar with'
Jaehyun thought to himself as he takes a step back to watch the female in front of her let out her "sass" or so what he knew it's called from his sister. He has never really into a fight with his big sister, Anzh, but their other half-sibling, Yibo, the earth would part, the sea would howl and the sky would cry every time they'd bicker. And Jae had familiarized himself with his sister's expression especially when she's about to go down on her opponent- just the thought of it sends a shiver down his spine. Not someone he'd wanna displeased.

As Jaehyun was about to speak, the last statement of the woman in front of him was enough to make him gasp in an exaggerated manner, eyes widening soon after while he brings a hand up, attempting to point at the latter but decides not to 'that's gonna cause me my precious hours on a longer fight'. "excuse you but I AM the only one who's knowledgable and /skilled/ around here" he explained kinda butthurt, nevertheless, he took this opportunity to take another inspecting glance at the so-called weapon which is protectively clutched by this person in front of him.

"Fine, how about you give me that weapon of yours so I could show you my point?" he spoke in a firm voice, a hand extended to take the umbrella from the other.

() Random Starter for whoever wants to reply.

The Party God's daughter was told to go to the armory where she would receive her weapon. Her father had slipped her a note, giving her a hint as to what the weapon might've been, though when Pamela set her eyes on it when she got to the armory, she fell in love with it. It was a golden champagne bottle. Everyone else either had avant-garde weapons or standard weapons like swords and spears but her father as goofy as he was gave her a weapon that she saw as a true weapon. Pam smiled as she gazed at it. She was so enthralled with it that she didn't hear footsteps behind her.
s. sebastian 3 years ago
@s. seungwan finishing the notes and sketches he has been working on since he got in the armory, Jaehyun then gently laid down his pencil and pushed it aside to make way for... /a what now?/ the self-proclaimed expert on weapon gazed back up at the latter who referred to the umbrella as her "weapon". He reciprocated the lady's beam with a low chortle of disbelief and a faint shaking of his head "uhm, did you just say that /t h a t/ thing is- is a gun of some sort?" a brow rose, face continuing to make a subtle mocking expression. 'this girl must be mad' he thought to himself.

pulling his own weapon from the table, he disassembled it into two separate double-edged axes, twisting the screw that forms it into a long double-ended spear and somewhat presented it in front of the woman "now miss, this is a weapon, that thing is a joke" the seemingly older of the two stood up and carefully twirled the ax on each arm, taking a step back from the other person not wanting to cause an accident. "I'd give it 7 for disguise but..." he places his weapons back on the table and peered at the umbrella "...maintenance wise, I'm not so sure"
s. sebastian 3 years ago
@s. seungwan "huh" with languid eyes, he looked around the room, he swears he had just heard his name being called out; but like a comedic scene in a cartoon, the two of them went in circles- not really being able to see each other despite how small the room was. "weird" he lowly spoke to himself before returning to the station he had been working on. seriously scribbling down on his note, he took notice of the umbrella once more. Jae just couldn't get rid of the curiosity and bewilderment as to why this object was around in a weapons room.

as he was about to inspect it, he swiftly turned his head when he felt a presence with him inside the cabin, "uhmm yeah, you need something?" he looked up at the woman, she looks familiar, her presence emitted something that's close to home but he just couldn't point as to what it was.
s. sebastian 3 years ago
@s. seungwan If there was something that piqued Jaehyun's interest other than arts and the constant need to be alone, it was this place, the things inside of it, and how each of them can be assembled, improved, upgraded and gain knowledge from. It's as if he transforms into some kind of a weapon geek, he knows the advantages and disadvantages of each apparatus, very quick to think of a way to improve them to be more efficient and just loves learning about them. it's a path not really aligned with being the son of hades but there's just something that interests him when the topic is weapon.

One can notice how organize and clean the armory is, Jae has spent an hour or so making sure everything is neatly arranged and clean for future practices and quests. But he was focused on his own celestial weapon, meticulously polishing it whilst taking random notes on his tablet which seemed to be some sort of measurements and design, he absentmindedly placed it on top of an umbrella. he found it really odd as to why there's something like that kept inside the armory.
