@○ ⁞ shuhua y 。 Somehow he manages to walk past the scientific journal section and into the historical non-fiction aisle without making any noticeable noise, or so he hopes. He doesn't need his power to bring the crime fiction section into his sight — he just needs to walk approximately ten steps (he remembers finding the book somewhere around the closer end of the shelf) and sneak out before the library assistant could notice his presence.

He takes one huge step closer, silently thanking whoever decided that the library should have carpeted flooring as it masks his footsteps well. He is about to emerge from the historical non-fiction section when he hears a faint rolling noise approaching. He takes a step back to retreat back into his terrible hiding spot between two shelves. He peers into the gap between the books and sees the assistant from a distance. Wonwoo sighs in relief when he sees her with a pair of earphones on, serving as a double footsteps-proof material for him. He decides to wait until she passes the area, and while she does eventually arrive close to him, he grimaces when she stops at the aisle he was about to go to.

Her singing then breaks the silence in the library, and Wonwoo almost immediately recognizes the song. The lyrics were so close to flowing out of his mouth naturally, but he manages to restrain himself. However, he finds himself breaking his own silence with something equally stupid: "... is that The 1975?"

@○ ⁞ wonwoo j 。 Working part-time at the campus library was great – it's like hitting two (three) birds with one stone: it provides her a safe space for when she just needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of the campus; she gets to be near not only potential study materials, but the place is large enough to contain even classic literary pieces, so she isn't bound to get bored; the only times she's required to interact with people are when they come up to the front desk, or if they ask her something when she's out by the bookshelves. Truthfully, she could have been in the training grounds, doing more drills and getting coached on improving her techniques, but the hero in charge of the class had told her to go on a day-off. "Rest is also a part of training," he had said. Shuhua sighs – you can't exactly rest when you eventually have to save dozens of lives, right? So why were they telling her this now? "Make it make sense, please," she mutters to herself as she slumps back in her seat, having just finished checking out a bunch of mangas for another student.

The remainder of the day was spent with the same old routine, and before she realized it, closing time was upon her; the librarian had tossed the keys to the younger assistant earlier and wished her a good night before heading home. Yawning, she changes the library sign to 'CLOSED' and proceeds to wheel her cart amongst the tables, collecting books left unattended before heading towards the shelves; Shuhua pops her earbuds in and puts her playlist on maximum volume whilst she returns the books to their proper places, the music serving as pleasant accompaniment to her otherwise-quiet surroundings.

She's in the crime fiction aisle, singing along to The 1975 ("I can't stop sweating or control my feet / Got a twenty-stone monkey that I just can't beat") when she feels a person's presence – no, their apprehension, rather – nearing her. Shuhua tenses, but refrains from making it obvious and continues what she's doing; maybe she'll be able to subdue the person when they get close enough.

@○ ⁞ yixing z 。 Rolling his eyes, Junmyeon occupied himself with pulling out his textbook and laptop out of his bag to begin working on the homework that was assigned to him today. Sparing a glance at Yixing, he scoffed and leaned back in his chair, propping his feet up on the table with the computer in his lap with his textbook sitting on the arm of the chair. "Are you a diabetic now? That's new. Maybe you can go back in time mess around until you find a universe where you're not." He teased, running his fingertips along the keyboard, allowing himself to simply stare at Yixing as he typed--it was a habit for him to focus on something while typing so as to not think too much about his thoughts. Rather, he'd simply allow them to flow as he transcribed his train of thought for his academic notes.
Halting for a moment, he registered the inquiry, and his digits paused. Tilting his head to the side, he reached his hand out to take Yixing's, gently cupping his palm, allowing the warmth to radiate into his hand. "What if I want something a little quicker so we can watch a movie tonight? We can order some chicken and beer and lie in bed. Thoughts?" Pursing his lips, he shrugged his shoulders and grinned. "Felt like lighting something on fire, so I scratched that itch."

@○ ⁞ shuhua y 。 The library is vast, to say the least. Wonwoo isn’t an early riser, but it’s a free day so he makes today an exemption to take his time with the collection of books available. However minutes soon turn into hours, and the lights inside the hall eventually replace the sunlight passing through the windows. He closes the third book he read shut and turns his head towards the clock, only to startle himself. It’s twenty minutes past closing time. How no one has kicked him out yet is beyond him, but the book ended in a cliffhanger and he absolutely needs to start reading the sequel today.

He looks around and catches sight of a woman at the other end of the library. He uses his vision to zoom into her figure and immediately recognizes her as the library assistant. While he could easily avoid her if he wanted to make his exit, the crime fiction shelf is dangerously close to her. Forget getting a sequel — he would have to walk past her if he wanted to return the book he is currently holding. He curses himself internally and starts tiptoeing closer, hoping that she won’t kick him out too soon if she managed to notice him.

@○ ⁞ junmyeon k 。 At the touch to his side, Yixing made a small noise, half protest and half laughter, swatting at the other students hand. "Hey, maybe I'm so tired because my blood sugar is low. Don't judge.", he shot back almost immediately, stretching his arms above his head to work out the kinks in his spine that were pulling at his muscles with vicious tension. He bit back a snort at the package of fruit snacks Junmyeon offered him, his eyebrows shooting up. "I guess you're my mom friend now.", he mumbled, nonetheless taking the package from the older and carefully ripping it open along the seam, hyper aware of any loud noises it might cause. Then, at the feeling of warmth seeping into his side, Yixing gave the other a pointed look, shaking his head. "that was a joke, silly. I am capable of buying dinner for myself. And also! We do have a kitchen that can be used from time to time.", he pointed out, squirming and rubbing at the spot Junmyeon has just touched, humming. "if you warm me up right now, I'll just fall back asleep, honestly." giving Junmyeons feet a displeased look, the younger shrugged, kicking his chair back onto its hind legs. "Nothing exciting or I wouldn't have been well on my way to limbo. What took you so long anyway? Normally you're always on time. I could have worried, you know?"

@○ ⁞ nene 。 the intruder's steps are too loud, jeonghan thinks, as he suddenly stops in his tracks at the voice calling him out. it's dark, but not enough for him to be blind and unseeing. he purses his lips — this is unusual. students should be normally in their dorms right now, not... wandering around like he does. a thought then comes to his mind, and he almost smiles. instead of running away, he stays in his place, waiting for the girl to come near him. in the dark, he knows he resembles that of a ghost — bright hair, pale skin, white clothes — and he often uses it to drive people away at night.

but this girl seems brave enough to call out. one of his vectors moves away from him, approaching where he thinks the stranger is — and he opens the window by the corridor, letting the cold night breeze enter in a sharp movement. let's see how this lady can handle something of this sort, he thinks to himself, quite amused.

[] i hope this is fine o_O

@ᴀ ⁞ jeonghan y 。 nene overworks herself more often than not, usually within the comforts of the lab where she helps the teachers formulate new gears for each student. the girl likes experimenting, so much so that she doesn't notice how much time has passed by before she retired to bed. much like tonight. it's a little past 1am when she decides to leave the lab. the girl hasn't noticed how tired she was until she's halfway through her second flight of stairs towards her dorm room. nene decides to take a detour, then, rounding the corner to a darker corridor. she's passed by this area a couple of times that it doesn't scare her. however, tonight seems to be a little different. the girl stops in her tracks when she hears the sound of feet being dragged just far up ahead. "hello?" she tries to call out. no response. "uh, hello!!!"

@○ ⁞ yixing z 。 Sinking into the chair next to the male that was seemingly dozing off before his arrival, Junmyeon extended a hand outwards and poked his side, lulling him out of his drowsy state. "A snack? You are something else...." The elder teased, pulling his backpack onto his lap and rummaged through it, pulling out a pack of fruit snacks. Offering them out to the younger male, he grinned with a shrug of his shoulders. "This will have to do for now, but I'll get you some chicken for dinner, silly." He agreed, allowing his digits to linger, brushing along the male's ribs, warmth radiating out of his fingertips, as they always did with his abilities. After a fleeting moment, he pulled his hand away and leaned back in his seat, propping his feet up on the table. "It's Monday. Get it together." The elder teased, gathering his hands in his lap. "Anything exciting happen while I was running here?"

@○ ⁞ junmyeon k 。 Class had been dragging, even for him. It would have been easy to skip time, to escape the classroom in a matter of seconds, but Yixing's control had been waning for a couple of days already. He'd been too stressed, too sleepless and as a result of that hellishly tired, to be able to speed up an entire room. And now, sitting at his favorite table in the library, with the sun shining down on his back to warm him from the inside out, Yixing suddenly felt drowsy. The world swam into colors around the edges of his vision, like oil on water. The paper between his fingers was dry, almost calming in its stagnant nature and Yixing blinked down at the words, stifling a yawn. It felt like a fraction of a second, the moment his eyes fell closed and his fingers smoothed down the edge of the book, time slowing in his chest as he felt the familiar twinge of his power resonating with the sluggish state of his mind. It couldn't have been more, really, but it was enough for him to jostle when there was movement in front of him and Junmyeon appeared in his line of sight, slightly out of breath. "Are you?", Yixing smiled up at him sleepily, glancing down at his watch out of nothing but pure habit. The hands were not moving, like always. "You know I barely have any concept of time. Ironic." He kicked out a leg, pushing the chair opposite from him away from the table, gesturing at it with the hand he hadn't wedged between the pages of his book.
"Have you ate least brought me a snack?", he asked, sending the other student his sweetest of smiles. "You know? As an apology? Or is it your turn to buy fried chicken? Wait. What day is it again?"
○ ⁞ junmyeon k 。 3 years ago
@○ ⁞ yixing z 。 It was routine to meet in the library after class to try and finish up homework for the next day so as to not have to worry about it later, and it would free up their evenings for entertainment. Today, Junmyeon was running late, which was certainly out of character for him. Breathless, he burst into the room a bit louder than he had anticipated and silently apologized to the librarian as he sped back to the usual section, the table in the non-fiction section that had the comfiest chairs, and there was so little traffic back there because barely anyone reads non-fiction nowadays. Placing his books onto the table, he propped himself up by leaning against the oak table and released a sigh, lifting his eyes to meet the other's gaze. "Sorry I'm late..." He whispered, smiling to himself as he slowly sunk down into his chair.
