@wonho “That’s—“

Jeongguk struggled to find the words.

“That’s terrible, Hoseok” He finally said, despair creeping into his voice. What had he expected? Certainly not a situation that terrible; Jeongguk was well aware of the horror stories revolving around anaesthesia and never waking up again, it was one of the many reasons why he hated visiting hospitals. “I’m sorry” For what though? Jeongguk still felt guilty even though he had nothing to do with Auntie and her situation.

And on top of all that, his job had gone from being a simple PA to some sort of espionage mission? Just what the was happening?

“This is a little above my pay grade, Hoseok” He said as the elevator doors dinged open and they stepped out— anxiety crept in, his fingers itched to rub against something tactile and alive— “I, I can try but I don’t know what you expect me to find.” Jeongguk followed Hoseok through the company lobby to where a sleek black car waited patiently for them out the front of the building.

@big dave (magnum dong) Hoseok laughed when he heard Jeongguk's agitated tone "Are you questioning your boss's actions right now? Tsk, Mr Jeon, make sure to keep that attitude in check. I can handle it since I know what you're like but others don't and it may very well get you in trouble while working at the company" he loved one using Jeongguk for once, he felt smug about it to say the least.

He glanced over at the male, deciding it was time to tell him about his mother. His poor, poor mother who had gone into surgery for something very small and then something had gone wrong. His mother slipped into a coma, a deep coma and she'd been like that for almost a year now. Her brain still was functioning but she wasn't waking up and the doctors couldn't figure out why.

"The flowers are for my mother, but the fruit is for the nurses and doctors who take care of her. My mother wouldn't be able to eat it anyways, she's in a coma. She's been in a coma for about a year. She went to the hospital to have a benign mass removed from her liver and then she just didn't wake up" he turned his head and looked at the wall of the elevator while trying to blink back his tears "This company belongs to her, she was the one who made it what it is today. I'm only making sure the company continues to do well until she wakes up but there's a board meeting coming up. The shareholders are getting restless and I think they're trying to figure out a way to take the company from my mother and I. I need your help, listen to the gossip spread around this place, especially in the cafe downstairs. Find out what the shareholders have planned and what they are going to use against me. Please Jeongguk, there arent many people I can trust in this company, I need you"

@wonho [] oh, too easy! My bad ahah I focused on the wrong thing akfjnaelngfk I mentioned in symbiosis that my replies will be kinda short but this one especially so since I couldn’t think of what to add between him being in the office and them going to the elevator

“Yes, sir, of course.”

Jeongguk opened up his tablet to order a driver to be waiting for them by the time they were out of the elevator. When he was done and looked up, he jumped at seeing Hoseok no longer in front of what. “What-“ He turned and saw Hoseok already at the elevator “What the -“ Jeongguk hissed, shoving his tablet into his pocket and running to grab the fruit.

ing- so much for being patient.

Jeongguk, very annoyed but his expression hidden by the copious fruit bundle, hurried to the elevator; somehow managing not too fall flat on his face but also getting there in time to hear the ding of the doors opening.

“You couldn’t have waited like one minute?” He hissed quietly, holding the precariously balanced fruits. They were alone, thankfully, so Jeongguk only had to worry about dropping everything onto either Hoseok or the floor. He felt an odd tension coming from Hoseok now that he was standing in such close quarters with him, a tension that made him swallow thickly; suddenly feeling the same nerves he’d felt during their interview “So what did you want to tell me?”

@wonho [] hi hi! Sorry not a reply but I’m just letting you know that I’ll be replying to our threads tomorrow!
wonho 3 years ago
@big dave (magnum dong) [] As far as I know her name's never been mentioned. I think most of the MX members called her Mom or Mother. Oh yeah JK would definitely know Hoseok's mother from their college days. Oh don't worry about the meeting, the main focus for this reply is the hospital part.

Hoseok tilted his head and watched Jeongguk's expression closely, smiling wider when the younger male accepted the gift with slightly reddened ears. Cute.

His eyes widened, Jeongguk called his mother Auntie for the first time in such a long time. He looked away from the other and tried to blink back his tears, he really thought he could hold it together. He closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths before turning back to his ex-lover, giving a sad smile and nodding. "Yes, she is but I know she'll get though it because she's incredibly strong willed. You know how she is"

He hadn't meant to bring up their past relationship so soon but the phone call he'd gotten while Jeeonguk was gone, it changed that. His mother's heart rate had dropped and the doctors had to resuscitate her for the second time this week. He realized in that fleeting moment that life was too precious to waste. He'd hoped Jeongguk would tell him the truth of their sudden breakup but all he got was a lie, that he wasn't gay. "That's your reason for breaking up with me? We dated for four years and you think I'd believe an excuse like that" he said in disbelief "I don't know what you're trying to hide from me but lying to my face hurts Guk. I didn't think you could be so cruel until now" he turned around in his chair and faced the window.
"Coward" he muttered under his breath as the younger excused himself to leave the room. ing coward. "ing cowa-" tears sprung to his eyes and slowly cascaded over his lashes, trailing down his face. He let out shaky breaths and tried to control his breathing as he had a panic attack. After about five to ten minutes he was able to calm himself down and use a mirror to clean himself up like he hadn't cried in the first place. The only way someone would know is by the slight pink tink around his eyes, but no one would notice something like that unless they looked really close at him.

For the new few hours Hoseok focused on his work, contacted potential new business partners as well as take care of any personal emails he'd needed to. He heard a knock on his office door, telling them to come in, Jeongguk came in along with flowers and a fruit basket "Thank you. If it's not too much to ask, will you come with me to the hospital? I know you have filing to do but it can wait. I'll need your help while I'm there, I'll explain in the elevator" he gave no room for an answer as he stood up from his desk, picked up the bouquet and walked out of his office, heading towards the elevators, he'd just pray that Jeongguk was behind him while holding a fruit basket.

@wonho [] I low-key don’t know if it’s ever been said what Hoseoks mums name irl is, I tried searching but couldn’t find anything so I just assigned her as auntie cause I figured JK would know her from their college days + wasn’t sure if you wanted a ‘meeting’ or not so I wrote the dinner between Hoseok and Mr Jung as if it were happening that night but if you wanted a few days IC, just pretend that JK said it had been booked for later that week!

He had stepped into the twilight zone. Jeongguk was sure of it.

What the had happened to the pretentious prick in the last hour that he’d been gone? Jeongguk accepted the gift with a questioning look, opening the box and promptly blanching at the gift. .. That looked like actual silk. No doubt the tie itself was expensive, probably more expensive than his entire outfit. He accepted the gift with a quiet thanks, the tips of his ears red when Hoseok gave him a charming smile.

. It’d been a while since he’d last seen a smile like that, one that made him blush and look away like a nervous school girl.

“Auntie is sick?” He muttered to himself, frowning slightly. Jeongguk hadn’t been particularly close to his parents during high school and especially during college. Hoseoks mother had been a sort of.. emotional stand in. For a while. She’d treated Guk like he’d always wanted to be treated so he held a soft spot in his heart for her, even after all these years.

Jeongguk felt cold, gripping his iPad so tight that his knuckles turned white. Hoseok didn’t give any indication that he heard the question, thankfully, continuing on with the rest of his orders until.. Oh god. Why. Why. Why was he so obsessed with their past relationship? Emphasis on the word /past/.

Jeongguk hesitated to answer, the thought of threatening to involve Human Resources over asking such a personal question flashing through his mind but Hoseok had been actually kind of decent the past 20 minutes and Jeongguk was not about to ruin that. “Because I’m not gay.” Jeongguk said smoothly, avoiding meeting Hoseoks eyes. Nervous habit had him rubbing his fingers together, Jeongguk shifting slightly so that Hoseok wouldn’t catch the movement.

Liar, liar, Jeon Jeongguk. He’ll see right though you.

“My apologies if that isn’t a satisfactory answer for you.” He said stiffly, eyes darting . Jeongguk swallowed. Hoseok was certainly intense. “If you’ll excuse me” He left no time for Hoseok to respond, heading straight for the door and directly to his little desk off just to the side of Hoseoks large ceiling to floor glass wall.

Jeongguk buried his head in his hands, breathes coming out short and panicked as he tried to calm his pounding heart. He wasn’t lying. He wasn’t lying. ‘I’m not gay, I don’t like men, I. Am. Not. Gay.’ Jeongguk chanted to himself mentally, mouthing the words silently. He stayed in that position until he didn’t feel like he was so close to falling into a panic attack, calmly exhaling as he straightened up, acting as if he almost just hadn’t had a breakdown in the middle of the office. On his first day. ing hell. ‘Get it together, man’ He thought furiously, jaw tightening.

After looking for Parks number in the company directory, Jeongguk called him and rescheduled the meeting between him and Hoseok for the next day, apologising when the older man scolded him for it.

The rest of his afternoon went smoothly, booking a room at Hoseoks specified restaurant was as easy as pie once he mentioned the company name and secretary Lee turned out to be a rather pleasant man to work with, his demeanour rather charming. By 3:20 pm, a large floral bouquet and fruit hamper arrived on Jeongguks desk for Hoseok to take to his mother.

“Sir?” Jeongguk pushed his way into the office with gifts under arm. “Pass on my wishes to your mother,” He said, placing the baskets onto a decorative side table “I have some filing to do until you come back for your dinner with Jung otherwise I can order a driver for you now and pick you up from the hospital directly.”

@big dave (magnum dong) Hoseok kept himself busy while going over proposals that were re-submitted after being denied by him. Sometimes it took multiple tries before the proposal was just right and sometimes they never passed at all. He'd sent Jeongguk to deal with Mr Shin, since he and Hoseok didn't see eye to eye, he'd hoped his ex lover would get chewed out a little bit before returning without the signature. So when Jeongguk returned almost an hour later, he didn't even spare a glance, that was until the other told him he'd gotten the signature,

His head shot up and he stared at his ex-lover in disbelief, you've got to ing kidding me. This little charmed Mr Shin, how the did he manage that. He checked over the documents just to make sure there was actually Shin's signature and sure enough, signed in black in was Victor Shin. "Yeah, unfortunately Victor's always been that way especially since he was up for vice president of the company and I gave it to someone else since I had proof he was taking credit for projects that weren't his own" he took off his glasses, folded then and then set them on his desk, gently massaging the bridge of his nose.

He looked at Jeongguk with a half smile "Congratulations, you've passed the test. You're now a full time employee of WH Incorporated" he took out a blue velvet rectangular box, sliding across the table, inside the box there was a cream colored tie along with a tie pin. "Consider this my welcome gift to you since I know you'd rather not have a company dinner with me there" he leaned back in his chair and listened to Jeongguk list off the details of his schedule.

Thank you for doing that, I must have been out of it when I scheduled that appointment. Guess that's why I shouldn't do the scheduling myself" he laughed, his eyes turning into crescents, it was rather boyish than manly, more like how he was when he was younger. "All of those meetings sound fine, just remind me that morning about the video call, please. As for Mr Jung, have a room booked at that new Chinese restaurant that just opened up in downtown Seoul" he said and then returned to focusing on the proposals and files he needed
to look through before the company board meeting that was scheduled in a week.

He lifted his head back up when he heard Jeongguk's question "Yes, that's exactly why I warned you that I work late. Sometimes my business partners enjoy drinking and it's rude to refuse them. You won't have to do anything besides drive me home after those meetings and sometimes the regular ones as well. I'll give you overtime and a bonus every week since you'll probably have to deal with me being intoxicated at least once a week. Also I need you to cancel and reschedule my 3:30 with Mr Park, I need to go visit my mother. Buy some flowers and a basket of fruit so I can take that to her. Oh right, I should mention she's in the hospital. So this isn't a home visit or anything like that. I take work very seriously but I also know how import family is. Well you should know that since we were together at one point"

Hoseok sighed and took a breath "Secretary Lee has a few things he needs help with, so please make sure to help him but one more thing before you go" he slowly stood up so that he was eye level with his ex lover, nothing like his usual composure. He was calm and had a soft gaze in his eyes "Why did you break up with me? And please don't lie. I just want closure, that's all"

@wonho “Yes, sir”

Jeongguk bowed towards Hoseok, the perfect picture of calm serenity, a placid smile stretched across his lips as he plucked the aforementioned contracts from Hoseoks desk. Man.. Could paper slice through a mans throat? Jeongguk wondered as he left the office, snickering at the idea that he could get away with murdering Lee Hoseok. “Deserves a whack on the head at the very least..” He muttered, heading towards the elevators.

“Mr. Lee would like me to hand these over to your floor’s chief, can you please direct me to his office? Thank you.” Getting those proposals signed was like trying to extract answers from a mute; it seemed that Jeongguk was not the only with a problem with Hoseok seeing as the old mans face soured at the mere mention of ‘Mr. Lee’ (I feel you man, he mentally agreed). Honestly, if it wasn’t going to affect him, Jeongguk would have been all to happy to let Shim around and take his time but Jeongguk had a horrible gut feeling that if he didn’t get this done, he’d be well and truly screwed.

And that meant bye bye fancy apartment. Bye bye fancy car he had on loan. Bye bye modelesque girlfriend.

45 minutes later and Jeongguk was walking out a satisfied man, signed documents in hand and a smug smirk on his face. Tch. Men like Shin were all the same.

His phone rang as soon as he stepped into the elevator. He sighed, answering with a chipper voice.

“Good morning, this is Mr. Lee’s office. Mhm. Mhm. Of course, I’ll take a look over his timetable asap. Thank you.”

Hanging up from a five minute conversation and Jeongguk was met with a notification that 2 messages had been left for him; both of them regarding meetings either that day or later in the week. Jeez, just how important was Hoseok? Another look at his schedule on his tablet showed meeting after appointment after meeting, it was insane. ‘He must be a pretty hard worker..’ Jeongguk thought, tapping through each box for more details; he could sympathise, as much as he didn’t want too, no matter who you were, it was hard to be in charge of such a large office and Jeongguk already suspected that Hoseok worked late.

The elevator doors opened to the office and Jeongguk squeezed past some office workers. He dreaded heading back into Hoseoks office, sweat forming on the nape of his neck from nervousness.

Grey rock. Grey rock. Give. Him. Nothing.

Hoseok didn’t even look up when Jeongguk knocked and entered; something that annoyed him greatly; was he not even worth a glance?

“Shim signed, finally.” Jeongguk sighed, placing the documents on the table “My apologies for taking so long, he was rather insistent about putting it off until I had words with him.” He folded his arms across his chest, letting Hoseok flip through the documents.

This was going surprisingly well. The constant phone calls and running around, while a little more specialised, was not that different from his previous job; it seemed the biggest difference was his (sobs) salary cut. But Jeongguk was always a bit of a control freak, running into problems were his strength as he had ways of pushing through to get what he wanted done. People like Shim, for all the power that they held, just needed to have the right buttons pushes and they’d come crumbling faster than a glass house having rocks thrown at it.

“I also noticed that you had two clashing appointments this afternoon so I’ve rescheduled your afternoon call with Mr Im for 4:15 rather than 4:00 pm; he also requested a video call over a phone but I advised that that was up to your discretion. I am emailing you the update now so you have the reminder on your desktop.” Jeongguk tapped a few buttons on his tablet, sending the new changes to Hoseoks schedule; the corresponding computer making a little ding when it received his email. “You’ve also been asked to meet with Director Jung sometime this week, so I will go over your schedule now to see what times best suit the two of you.”

Jeongguk paused before asking a question that’d been on his mind since the elevator ride down.

“Um.. Sir, I wasn’t told but am I supposed to be attending your meetings with you?”
wonho 3 years ago
@big dave (magnum dong) Hoseok continued to sign the proposals he'd needed to and then glanced up every now and then to sneak a peek at his ex. From the way Jeongguk's fingers trembled and how fast he'd been turning the pages, he had a feeling Jeongguk hadn't read the contract at all because he just wanted this meeting to be over with. Hoseok was okay with that since this was only their first meeting, next time he wouldn't tolerate such behavior.

He chuckled lowly as Jeongguk tossed the contract on his desk and then said he'd see himself out. Hoseok waited until Jeongguk had left the office before he spoke his thoughts out loud "Jeon Jeongguk, you should have read the contract, you really should have" he smirked and ran his fingers over Jeongguk's signature. "Soon you'll be back where you belong, right here by my side"
-----
Monday morning came, the day that Jeongguk would begin working for him. He was up earlier than usual and took his time while picking out his work attire, he finally settled on a dark grey almost black suit along with a maroon tie. It was a professional look but still made him look handsome. A smile grew on his face as he checked himself out in the mirror. He'd show Jeongguk just what he was missing out on, he couldn't wait to see Jeongguk's face.

When Hoseok arrived earlier than usual he stayed in his car and waited until it was time to go in. He wasn't just twiddling with his thumbs, no he was going through the files he'd received about Jeongguk's girlfriend, she was his weak link. If Hoseok could figure out a way to persuade her to break up with Jeongguk, then he could be Jeongguk's shoulder to cry on and ultimately bring them closer and lead them to rekindle their love for each other. The sound of the alarm on his phone going off broke the silence, he shut off the alarm and then tossed the files into the backseat before getting out of his car and heading inside.

Hoseok took the elevator from the parking garage all the way up to the seventeenth floor, greeting his secretary before going into his office and getting to work. He looked over some papers that he'd needed to do for awhile, it was regarding a partnership with another company but the stakes weren't worth it so he called and asked to meet up to negotiate the contract to which the company accepted. Good, at least he'd taken care of that. He slipped on the glasses he'd use when looking at his computer, making sure to send quick email to his secretary regarding the contract with Company K and the appointment that was set for later in the week.

He was back to going over more paperwork when he heard a knock on his door, he's here. Hoseok fixed the glasses and then continued to read over the papers in front of him as Jeongguk walked across the room and laid a cup of coffee on his desk before stepping back. So this was how he was going to act, okay fine. "I need you to go to the 5th floor and deliver these proposals to the chief there, make sure he looks over and signs it before bringing it back to me. If you can't get his signature then I'll know you're incapable of being my assistant. Do I make myself clear?" Hoseok asked in a stern voice with his brows furrowed "What are you still doing here? Mr Jeon, go do your job" he said and leaned his head on his hands, he was already enjoying this far too much. He finally took a sip of his coffee and got back to work, today was going to be a good day.
big dave [A] 3 years ago
@l. hoseok His face was probably bright red. He just knew it.

His cheeks burnt hot even as Hoseok sat down to let Jeongguk look over his employment contracts. It was strange, to say the least. It was such a switch from before, having his ex’s undivided attention on him to suddenly act as if Jeongguk didn’t exist? He swallowed thickly, a hard lump forming in this throat. With trembling fingers, Jeongguk reached out and grabbed the paperwork quickly, flicking through the pages; reading but not really absorbing any of the information in front of him, he felt like he was being watched even though every time he chanced a look up, Hoseok was seemingly busy with his own work.

“Everything is fine.” He said simply, gesturing for a pen from Hoseok. He signed the contract quickly, tossing the paperwork back to his new(yuck) boss before standing up. “I’ll, um, I’ll see myself out.” Jeongguk muttered, eyes flicking to Hoseoks as he bowed. Jeongguk didn’t wait around for any kind of reply from the other man, hightailing it out of the office as fast as he could.

‘I hope there wasn’t any bull in there.. , what am I gonna do’

Jeongguk was suddenly glad it was a Friday, it meant he had an extra two days to mentally prepare himself for the absolute show this job was going to be. He wasn’t particularly religious but maybe he should make a short trip to his local church and pray for his sanity.

************ ************ ************ ************

Monday morning came way too soon.

Sooyoung was already out the door by the time Jeongguk had dragged himself out of bed and into the kitchen, taking the rest of her left over cold brew before going about the rest of his morning routine. It’d been a while since he’d stepped into an office and from what he’d saw on Friday, Hoseoks office seemed to be fairly lax with dress code; still, he’d been taught to maintain a certain level of professionalism always so he left that morning in navy blue slacks and a white button down.

The sense of dread in him only grew stronger as Jeongguk walked into the sleek office building. He couldn’t even have the elevator ride to pull himself together, it was so packed. ‘Ok, you got this, you just gotta be professional. This is temporary, you can look for another job while you’re here.’ He told himself, stepping out onto the 17th floor aka his personal hell floor. Knowing that he would be outta there soon was a sobering thought, one that he knew he’d have to hold onto to get him through the day.

But until that day came when he could wipe that smug expression of that s face with his resignation, Jeon Jeongguk was going to be the best damn assistant he could be.

The lady at reception flagged him down as he stepped into the office, holding out a tablet for him as well as a takeaway coffee cup; she had a kind look to her and her voice was friendly as she spoke to him “Jeon, I have Mr. Lee’s schedule for you; from this afternoon, everything will be emailed to you personally including his daily rituals like (she gestured the coffee). This is for today but remember to be 15 minutes early so you can bring him his morning coffee. He likes the cafe on the 5th floor.” Jeongguk thanked the woman profusely, taking the tablet and drink from her.

Jeongguk’s nerves intensified as he entered Hoseoks office— of course the older man was there— and placed the coffee cup on his desk before taking a few steps back, putting a safe distance between himself and Hoseok.

“Good morning, sir, I have your schedule for today with me, did you need me to do anything for you before I get started?”

@big dave (magnum dong) [] Awesome! Also I'd like to point out, I cringed so hard while writing this. I wanted to punch my character.

"The thing is, I'm not like the other potential employers. They don't have history with you. I do"
Hoseok smiled wicked and continued, "Those potențial employers you speak of, they don't know you like I do. They dont know the things, that I know. They don't know your secrets and desires, but I do" he said with a tone of finality

"Look at you, you've gotten even more handsome. I don't blame that girl for snatching you up, but she should know that she can't win against me. No one can win against me, not when I'm fighting for what's rightfully mine" He looked down at Jeongguk, a confident grin apparent on his face. Many thoughts ran through Hoseok's head, for instance, he was thinking of the best way to make Jeongguk his, the best way to make Jeongguk fall for him again. He'd think of something, he always had ideas, and when he put his mind to it he could a lot more than make someone fall for him.

Hoseok's grin was gone in an instant replaced by a frown. He looked down at Jeongguk's hands, and rolled his eyes as he moved away. He'd back off, for now at least but once Jeongguk was his assistant, that was a different story. He sat down in the chair across from his ex, changing his demeanor to that of a professional. Hoseok slid a folder containing an employee contract across the table along with a pen. "All the details for the job are in there, you can read it over and ask me any questions you have"
He said as he got up from the chair and walked back over to his desk to continue looking over proposals that needed approval.

@l. hoseok [] ok sweet; I think the straight version is good too!
“I’m not being formal, if I spoke like this to any other potential employer I’d be blacklisted so fast I’d get whiplash. “ Jeongguk snapped, hating how his shoulders curled in as if to protect himself when Hoseok spoke to him. He watched, muscles tensed, as Hoseok came around from his side of the desk; crowding into Jeongguks personal space.

“What the fu-!” He jumped slightly, his ears burning when his (*shudders*) future bosses came around him. Jesus was he in a drama or something? Clearly Hoseok had some unresolved issues with him but Jeongguk wasn’t the same weak-willed 21 year old he used to be; the Hoseok pulled didn’t fly with him anymore.

“Speaking of employers-“ Jeongguk pressed his palm against Hoseoks chest, pushing the older man away firmly and held him at arms length, frowning up at the older man “If you don’t get your hands off of me, I’ll be going straight to the police for assault. I don’t care if it costs me a ty assistants job. I get that you have personal feelings involved but it’s been years. I hope you aren’t like this with other employees” Jeongguk his lips nervously, withdrawing his hand to clasp it in his lap; hiding his mild tremor. , he really didn’t expect Hoseok to scare him this much.

He shouldn’t be surprised though, Hoseok had always had a certain.. lets say ‘quality’ about him that had made Jeongguk uneasy even as a young adult. The problem was that Hoseok was also very dynamic and confident; it was hard to stay away.

Steeling his resolve, Jeongguk continued on “If you can remain professional, then I’d like to discuss my salary and company perks with you.”
wonho 3 years ago
@big dave (magnum dong) [] I think either one works for the plot since Hoseok will do anything to get Jeongguk back. So let's say he's "straight" and denying his uality. I think it will definitely spice up the plot and make Hoseok jealous and pissed off.

"No need to be so formal Jeongguk, after all, we do have quite a bit of history together, don't we?" Hoseok smirked and sat down, intently watching Jeongguk's body language. He was uncomfortable for sure, but Hoseok could care less. He wanted to make Jeongguk feel everything he felt when he was dumped without warning. He was going to make his ex lover suffer and beg.

"Look at me when you're talking to me Jeongguk" He ordered sharply having enough of Jeongguk's gaze being on anything but him. He clicked his tongue as a warning not to anger him. His eyes narrowed when he heard the other mention that he'd needed this job to save his relationship with his girlfriend. Hoseok would have to get rid of her somehow..maybe he could send some explicit photos of him and Jeongguk in bed, he still had plenty of photos he could use.

"Don't assume things Jeon, you have an excellent resume. I'm not going to let our past history cloud my judgment when it comes to hiring someone. Given the ?" his jaws clenched in annoyance "Our relationship wasn't just that happened between us. So if I ever hear you say that again, you'll regret it. Do you understand?" he sat back in his chair "As for that girlfriend of yours, you'll be too busy with work to even see her. I have a very busy schedule and I usually come into the office early and leave extremely late"

Hoseok stood up and crossed the room, pinning Jeongguk to his chair but slamming his hands on both armrests "I don't plan on letting you go anytime soon, so don't worry about finding another job"
big dave [A] 3 years ago
@l. hoseok [] I’m thinking that I’m gonna make Guk either biual or ‘straight’ and denying his uality; which one would you prefer? I’ve given him a girlfriend for sure cause I reckon it’d be a spicy side story esp for Hoseok to get jealous/angry over + he thinks Hoseok hates him for breaking up with him during college

Oh for s sake.

Jeongguk had to clench his teeth together to stop himself from cussing about his current situation. He didn’t ask for much, ya know? Life had handed him a ty hand when he’d lost his job due to bull reasons such as ‘budget cuts’(yeah right, he was the guy who practically kept that ty excuse of a law firm running) and all he wanted, all he asked, was for another management job in a law firm. Instead the only job he’d heard back from was a ty executive assistants position to an unknown CEO. Even though it wasn’t what he wanted, his girlfriend had hreatened to walk out on him if he didn’t get a job sooner(there was no later in her mind).

And to top it all off, he’s just walked into the office of the absolute last person he ever wanted too see.

Are.

You.

Kidding.

Lee Hoseok, in the flesh, in all his smug, arrogant, narcissistic glory, giving him a slimy smirk that had shivers running down Jeongguks spine. God he hated the way the older man leered at him, he knew he was visibly uncomfortable with how he lingered in the doorway(he was honestly wondering if it was too late to make a break for it- but.. ugh. Sooyoung would leave him.). The er was probably enjoying this; getting ready to toss him out on the street after how Jeongguk had ended things between them. Jeongguk swallowed thickly and walked forward, his shouders hunching as if hiding himself from Hoseoks gaze.

“Uh, yeah, hi.” He greeted back, hesitating to meet Hoseoks eyes. He instead looked around the office, annoyance rising in him at how successful his, ahem, college fling had become compared to him. The little . Jeongguk hated him. “Jesus Christ, um..” Jeongguk muttered, pinching his nose bridge, at least he knew he could be candid with Hoseok. There was no point in being polite, they both knew how things had ended between them and Hoseok knew that there were no positive feelings from Guks side of this interaction. “Listen, I know you’re probably just going to rip my resume and tell me to off given the that’s happened between us.. but I need this job. I’m falling behind on rent and my girlfriend is threatening to leave me.” Jeongguk forced out beween gritted teeth “Can you please give me a chance, at least until I find something else and I can get out of your hair once and for all.”

@big dave (magnum dong) Hoseok looked down at the resume that laid upon his desk, a contorted look upon his face as he looked at the face of his former lover. He hadn't seen Jeon Jeongguk since they broke up, it was as if he'd dropped off the face of the earth.

Hoseok heard his office phone alert him of a call from his receptionist, to which he asked "Is he here?"
"Yes sir"
"Send him in" Hoseok spoke into the phone before hanging up.

A second later, the door to his office opened and the expression Jeongguk made when his eyes met Hoseok's, It made him feel a deep satisfaction. He wanted to see how much control he had over Jeongguk and just by how uncomfortable his ex looked, he'd say it was still a lot.

"Jeongguk, it's a pleasure to see you again after so many years, please do sit so we can talk about your job at my company"

Hoseok's eyes traveled up and down Jeongguk's body, he'd grown taller and his face was more defined now not like how he was when they were in college together. His plan since receiving his ex's resume was to get Jeongguk to work alone with him as much as possible, he was going to revive their love no matter what, he wouldn't accept it any other way. And if Jeongguk fought him then he'd had to take things further, he was willing to do anything to have Jeongguk as his. Nothing and no one was going to stop him.
