@chanhee yukhei almost jumped in surprise when he heard chanhee. oh, he thought he'd already gone by now especially since some dashing fellow invited him to the company party and it was a friday night for gods' sake! plus! he was not around when he turned to look at him— oh... right, he was on the other end of their office now. after the one too many incidents of them being caught talking (or gossiping) like teenagers, their boss decided it was best to separate their desks far from one another. he liked having them both around since chanhee was very talented in his craft and yukhei was an outrageous hardworker; but, having them both together in one place? well, the work's bound to die.

calming his heart down with a few regulated breaths, yukhei unintentionally glared at chanhee for surprising him before responding, "you can go ahead and eat. just buy me some chicken and beer while you're at it. unfortunately, i have to wrap this up tonight so.. yeah, i'll eat at home."

@yukhei ₂ deep down inside the slightly fairer looking young male has buried the most passionate interest toward the idea of working for animation, whilst throughout the entire year upon his entrance for the dearest company he had an interview with. chanhee had never been so grateful in life when his first interview were successfully approved with his tolerable attitude during the conversation targeted on his biggest dream to be involved in such an amazing opportunity. it went boosting his spirit as soon as he heard his best friend since childhood, yukhei, decided to surprise him about signing up for the same company and they were able to stick together.

a wide beam spread across his brightened face, barely noticeable of his fine lines and dark circles thanking his knowledge about simple concealing products and their function to cover up his flaws. woken up well, chanhee had gone too occupied in the depth of his new chaptered designation as his gaze fixated on the screen for the whole working hours that he had takeaways through recess time.

the day has gradually swapped for the night to approach the city, started the bustling lights from each buildings and chanhee has already finished the last piece of his duty till he stretched up his limbs against the swivel chair with a relieved hum. then he turned to look at his closest contact inside of the almost emptied office space, "i'm going to buy us dinner, what would you like to have?" he asked, despite the tiring shift yet he still managed to pull off a joyfully filled soft smile.

@chanhee his long digits recklessly punches on the keyboard as he struggles to correct the animation of his project. damn! he should've seen this coming— the universe conspired against him all the time; but, no, he had to open his trap earlier and spout nonsense like he could send this thing in before the clock even strikes twelve midnight. things really never go right, not for him, not in this lifetime. a heavy sigh, almost a groan, then slips past his lips as he roughly brings his palms over his face. , he should just turn in his resignation tomorrow; maybe then, he could at least save face before the meeting.

honestly, graphic design was never his first choice. he always adored the technical aspects of mathematics over the oozing creativity of arts, but since he met chanhee, his childhood friend-slash-best friend, he somewhat turned over a new leaf and began practicing design. right, right, it was stupid. he chose chanhee over his passion. but in yukhei's eyes, there was never a choice to begin with. chanhee will always be his priority. he liked him— correction, loves him— for reasons he can list on a thousand page book with a microscopic font size and reasons even he cannot fathom. okay, maybe that's not totally the case because it might be for some medical conditions too like he can't breathe whenever the male's not to be seen for a long while, literally; but that's a topic for another day.

after all, chanhee's right beside him... or so he supposes.

oh right, it's past seven pm. he would've arrived back home by now or wasted at the company party already. whatever the case was, it seems like he will just have to go through this ordeals all alone. hopefully, chanhee leaves him some dinner to go by later /if/ he even finishes for the night lest the night finishes him.
