the encounter with the dementors at the quidditch match really affected mal. he relapsed into bad habits (like smoking, and staying up all night), and prefers wearing darker clothes lately. he frequently wears fake piercing on his face (lips, eyebrow, nose), wears all of his ear piercings (plus his tongue one), and puts darker makeup on sometimes. because of the busy term, he cannot see his (boy)friends as often, so he is gloomy. his winter blues will not last!

mal's parakeet pierre absolutely hates being photographed, and the only pictures mal ever got of him are blurry, with the obligatory hand bite (hence why he never shares pictures of him on social media).

eleazar was taught a small handful of spells in greek by his older sister, but hardly if ever uses them outside of their home.

despite the sheer number of subjects eleazar is taking (some of which shouldn't even be offered to him considering his being a second-year), he does not and has never used a time-turner to get to all of his lessons. he instead strategically plans his class schedules and picks which class(es) to skip in favour of others each week, seeks out the professor for the class(es) he plans to skip in advance to inform them of his plans and retrieves the necessary homework / assignments / material that would be covered for that specific lesson beforehand. unsurprisingly some of the professors do not take too kindly to his questionable practice, but he does his best to maintain his usually-stellar grades anyway so they don't really have much reason to actually complain about him.
