@✶ › minghao。 junhui puffs out his cheeks, letting out a long, deep exhale before starting to move around the room. well, now that mingyu's left him alone to have some fun by himself, he can finally get to his first item in his agenda - looking for minghao... again. junhui's eyes dart from person to person, trying to find the costume he's seen in minghao's instagram post from earlier, when he realizes that he coincidentally chanced upon the snacks table. jun blinks. oh well, minghao can wait for a couple of minutes, right? maybe he can keep a lookout from here too...
@✷ › l. chan。 The thing about Mingyu talking with other people verbally when it’s not for his work is that he always wants to say a lot of things all at once, which happened when he acknowledged the other male’s answer to his question, “Ah! Then uh, welcome to clustella—ve…NO! Welcome to Stellavenace, and yeah cluster two…” He attempts to drown out the nervousness with a chuckle. “...welcome, welcome.” That failed, but at least the message he wanted to convey was there – Mingyu hopes. The writer only let out a squeaky, “Thanks, you too” at Dino’s compliment about his costume then proceeded to shift his weight from one foot to another trying to explain his attire choice. “Well, I—yeah, I travel a lot. That’s why I chose this…” Mingyu proceeds to awkwardly gesture from his head to his toe. “...costume. H-how about you? What’s the story behind that?”
@✷ › k. mingyu。 Bingo! The thousand watt smile that spreads across his lips could probably light up the entire room, eyes sparkling in genuine delight. “Mingyu! Cool, nice to meet you! Yeah, I’m also in cluster two, don’t know a soul though, I literally touched down a few days ago.” Chan remembers to not make handshakes awkward- somewhere in the back of his mind his mothers voice floats across like day-old lemonade- so he only squeezes the proffered hand in a quick, friendly fashion before letting go. “But now I know you, which is solid. By the way,” and here he stops somewhat dramatically to sweep an eye across Mingyu like the man was the meal that just arrived, “You look really good in this.” He internally thanks his brain-mouth filter to not say something that would expose his intelligence like calling him mind numbingly hot on the first go around. “But why pilot?”
@✷ › l. chan。 Unprepared was an understatement, Mingyu realized as a stranger had approached him not long after he separated himself from his company. He found himself blinking a couple more times than normal as if that would refresh his memory of who the person who had extended his hand towards the writer could be. It was futile – it was Halloween after all, more than half of the people in the venue looked /nothing/ like what could have been flashed during the introductory gala.
“I–uhh…” Mingyu was not sure if he should act in character, but either way, he would not know how to even if he attempted to sound more pilot-like. “...Mingyu. Hah, that’s me.” He disguises the action of wiping his sweaty palm as smoothing his coat before he accepts Dino’s—as he introduced himself—hand. “So uhm, are you also in cluster two…or?” He attempts to start a conversation.
@✷ › k. mingyu。 Chan picks this one as his first target because well, ok because he’s the most convenient in his current pathing through the crowded room BUT more importantly, because the person had the right look to pull off the extremely run of the mill looking uniform, and also because of everyone else around him, only this one looked like a lost puppy. Even though Chan does not identify himself as an opportunistic hunter, he’s just trying to make /friends/. Which he feels like he’d literally need to get in line for for some of the more confident personalities in the room. So it’s a beeline to Mingyu he goes, stopping somewhere around a vague personal space bubble, and sticks his gloved hand out like it’s supposed to mean something. “Hi! I’m Dino.”
As much as he wanted to stick with his roommate for the rest of the night—frankly because Junhui was the only reason he even bothered to attend – to prepare even, for such a big gathering—Mingyu’s aware that it would be suffocating for the other, so he bid him a temporary farewell, saying that if he comes across any trouble he was a text away. Mingyu brings himself wherever his nerves directed him and hopes for the best—unprepared for the worst.
@✸ › wonyoung。 jungwon opens the door to the party, slowly walking in costume clad thanks to wonyoung's shipment. as his eyes gaze over the crowd, observing the overall placements and mood of the location, he notices said girl on her phone. naturally, he decides to approach her first. "hey." he says, with a tiny wave to her gaze. "how do i look? is this what you were imagining?" he moves, maybe even spins, around a bit in his outfit which matches hers.
To say that Chan was excited for this party was an understatement. Having enrolled late, he had been beyond devastate to miss the beginning of the term where no doubt everyone was actively trying to get to know each other. He had already begun to foresee a miserable future, having to fit into his classes like the new /transfer/, but this? This was a lucky break. It was always easy to make new acquaintances at parties, and he could just barely keep himself from vibrating out of anticipation.
@✷ › c. yewon。 xiaoting strays from the crowd, despite her vast experiences with parties, though not once was a drunk cowboy the host. not feeling her most extroverted while donning a sleek ravenclaw uniform, she observed two other girls who seemed to share the same sentiments. “how come?” the inquiry rose in response to the woman speaking.
@✸ › wonyoung。 "ah! are they here yet?" she asks with a tilt of her head before shaking it, "no actually, it was kind of a spur of a moment decision to come! anywayyy, before your friend arrives- wanna grab some snacks and you could tell me how you've been recently?"
@✷ › c. miyeon。 she nods in response, returning the smile with a bright one of her own. "i did! i'm looking for my friend now, actually. are you with anyone?"
@✸ › wonyoung。 "ah! princess!" miyeon turns around towards the source of the familiar voice and strides over, "did you just arrive?" she says with a soft smile.
the villa was beginning to pour in with people, miyeon being among them. be it the drunk cowboy who was very into his role, or the jovial vibe all around — miyeon wasn't quite used to it all. but it seemed quite fun.
@✸ › y. jungwon。 still preoccupied with her phone, wonyoung momentarily scans the area for her companion upon being let in – "jungwon should be around here any minute now," she muses as she glances at her phone one more time. she greets a few people she recognizes on the way in, left hand flat on her corset as she eases her growling stomach whilst looking for her friend. "i wonder if they have anything to eat here."
perhaps a bit hesitant, yewon sets herself onto a seat away from the crowd with the two other girls she was with. "part of me feels like i'm gonna regret this so bad," she says to no one in particular.

it was halloween, or the day after, aka post-halloween. one of the few occasions where people of all clusters can emerge together in the weirdest, coolest (or tiest) costumes and have a complete disregard for silly curfews and rules. tonight, the event took place at villa lux, rusted gates open to all. jaehyun was appointed as the host and yet, the male already intoxicated as , greeting every other person with a cheerful yet slurred "howdy pardner!" in his woody costume.
