His teeth ached.

It was similar to the days when he had first been turned, hungry and afraid, his undead body's way of signaling a need to feed. Only this time it was not so much a /need/ as it was a /want/ - compulsive, obsessive, entirely unnecessary and yet, something he cannot control. And that was the kicker, wasn't it? The loss of control that is both familiar and not. Ever since he was reborn Dohyun has strived to remain in control, because those initial years of feeling lost, failing to suppress his instincts and urges... Never again did he want to return to those. But here he was.

Here /they/ are.

The vampire was only half-aware of his actions as he reached out and placed two fingers over the human's pulse point. Felt and heard the beating of the young man's heart, pumping precious blood throughout his body. The ache in his teeth worsened, most prominent near his fangs. Dohyun was sure that he must make quite the sight right now. Dull red eyes, unfocused until his gaze too turns to the man's neck. He felt himself almost swaying forward, and his hand slipped from the smooth column of that fragile, human throat to the back of the man's head.

This is not a new arrangement. Sometimes Dohyun feels as if he's been craving him, the boy with the divine taste, Felix, for his whole life. The addiction has sunk its barbs into him, rendering him to near useless capacity when faced with the overwhelming hunger. It is an indulgent and wanton thing, always demanding more, and it is only with his centuries of self-control that Dohyun doesn't just snap and drain the human dry. Because he needs it, the lifeblood flowing through those veins, and that means ensuring Felix stays alive.

There was a delay in his mind, in the moments between crowding into the human's personal space, and pressing lips to his jugular, feeling the thundering of Felix's pulse against his mouth. Everything is a haze in that moment, his bloodlust - because that's what it was, not merely hunger - clouding anything else. And then, unable to take much more of the torture of his own making, Dohyun dragged his fangs over warm skin and bit down.
