@♡ blinded_pandaᵐ "that's chef remy for you." a smile rested on his lips, comfortable. something about speaking with panda put him at ease. "you know, now that i think about it, cooking is kind of like magic, isn't it. i'm my own kind of superhero for sure." mouse knew his passion was in cooking and he often used his skills to volunteer some weeks to distribute food downtown to those in need. the term "hero" hadn't meant much until now when it came from someone he'd just met. he felt warm.

"you will be one of the FIRST people i invite, definitely. just make sure to come with a big apetite. you're not allowed to quit on me." the man laid there with the pillow snug beneath his chin as he soaked in panda's words thoughtfully, mapping out what kind of person he thought panda might be based on his answers. he nodded along, engraining it into his brain. "dishonesty is definitely a no for me. and who would dare to hurt nature or animals. this is our home to share. respect is a given. some of my icks are not washing your hands before doing anything that has to do with putting stuff in your mouth or when you come home from a long day. and maybe jumping into bed before showering? i'm kind of a neat freak. other than that... i guess someone who speaks for others instead of letting people speak for themselves (unless they really can't). people have their own voices and thoughts and no one can ever replace their voice. that goes for relationships as well. I want my partner to be able to voice their concerns to me and feel comfortable doing so. I can't read minds..."

"As for things i love in a person. passion. you can tell when people are in love with what their talking about or doing. and that helps me live vicariously through them. when they're happy, i'm happy. when they're smiling, i'm smiling, too. and i love someone who notices the smallest things about me and what makes me happy. when i feel like no one's noticed or paid any attention to it and suddenly their presenting it right in front of me? 100% simping. I will give that person the universe. how do you handle fights? like the nastiest and most brutal fights. do you drive away in honda? what would be a deal breaker for you?"

@♡ blinded_mouseᵐ The idea of Mouse being both a homebody and someone with such a passion for cooking resonated deeply with him. As someone who traveled a lot for work, he's always longing for more time at home. “I get that. Home is where I recharge, where I feel most myself. Letting someone into that space means they’re truly special.”

When Mouse laughed about the astronaut dream, he chuckled too. “No way, we both wanted to be astronauts? That’s hilarious. And yeah, heights can be a deal-breaker. Rollercoasters are one thing, but a rocket ship? I get it." He waved his hand off dismissively at the mere idea. He's never been too scared of heights, but a rocket ship was a whole different story. "Hey, cooking is its own kind of magic. Turning ingredients into something that brings joy to others? That’s a superpower. And a private chef? That’s amazing! I bet the family you work for feels pretty lucky." A smile finds it's way on his lips at the mere image of Mouse cooking up a warm meal.

“Opening your own restaurant sounds like an incredible next step. You’ve got the passion and the skill. I can see it happening. Don't forget to invite me when it does, I wouldn't mind getting a specially cooked meal by you." There was a clear grin heard in his voice as he smooths down his palms along his thighs. He shifted in his seat, pondering the next question. “As for my icks... hmm. I think one major turn-off for me is dishonesty. I value honesty and transparency so much. If I can’t trust someone, it’s hard for me to build any kind of connection. Another would be a lack of empathy. I need someone who can understand and share feelings, who’s kind and considerate. And I guess, someone who doesn’t respect nature or animals. Given my work, it’s a big part of who I am.” He leaned back, feeling the weight of his words. “What about you? What are some of your icks? And what’s one thing you absolutely love in a person?”

@♡ blinded_pandaᵐ “Right?” He was almost relieved that panda had felt the same way. Others would agree that mouse was a little on the dryer side since he preferred to stay home and when he did go out, he rarely had a sip of alcohol. “My home is my safe space. And me letting someone into my safe space and sharing these intimate and private moments with someone— they’d have to be someone really special to me for me to do so.”

“No way, an astronaut?” A laugh left him and he lifted his hands to wave away any misunderstandings. “I’m not laughing at you, but no freaken way? I wanted to be astronaut, too. But in high school I went on a rollercoaster for the first time… Yeah. Had no idea I was afraid of heights until that very moment. Never. Again. Imagine something as fast as a rocket ship and going as high as spice. I would literally die.” He cringed back at the simple thought of it before his smile returned, a small dimple finding home in his cheek. “That’s cool though. That you still get to do what you love and also make an impact on the world. I’m sure you’re doing great things, Panpan.”

He moved onto his back and tossed a pillow up into the air and caught it just to rinse and repeat the action as he pondered on the question. “Mmmm… well I’m definitely not an astronaut. I don’t like heights. My attention span tends to shift to whatever interests me at the moment. I wasn’t bad at anything, but I wasn’t great either. But one thing that I was always good at was cooking. And just the reactions and being able to share something I created myself with others— being able to make a dish that feels like home or a dish that makes people melt. I always found joy in even when I was younger. So now I’m a private chef. The family I work for loves everything I make, I get free meals and I’m doing what I love,” he finishes, hugging the pillow to his chest. “I’m thinking about opening my own restaurant soon.”

“Enough about me. Sorry for rambling. Mmm… What are some of the icks you have for people? What absolutely turns you off?”

@♡ blinded_mouseᵐ He listened intently, a soft smile playing on his lips as Mouse's words painted vivid images in his mind. He could almost see the two of them exploring different eateries, the thrill of new culinary discoveries intertwining with the simplicity of shared moments. The idea of comfort and adventure coexisting resonated deeply with him. “I love the sound of that,” he said, his voice filled with genuine enthusiasm. “Finding new food spots together sounds like an amazing adventure. And I totally get the comfort thing. There’s something really special about those quiet, intimate moments at home.”

He let Mouse’s question sink in, thinking back to his childhood dreams. “When I was a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut,” he confessed with a chuckle. “I was fascinated by space, the idea of exploring the unknown. It was the ultimate adventure to me. But, as I grew older, my interests shifted. Now, I work as a wildlife conservationist and photographer. It’s not outer space, but in a way, it’s its own kind of exploration. I get to travel to amazing places, capture the beauty of nature, and work on projects that make a difference.”

He paused, the memories bringing a sense of nostalgia. “I guess I found a different kind of adventure. And it’s something I’m passionate about. What about you, Mouse? Did your childhood dreams lead you to where you are now?” He leaned back, his fingers tracing patterns on the armrest, his mind filled with possibilities. This conversation felt different, more meaningful than the usual small talk. There was a depth to Mouse’s responses that drew him in, made him want to learn more, to see if their dreams and realities could align in this strange yet exhilarating setting.

@♡ blinded_pandaᵐ “I am definitely a big foodie at heart. If I’m sad. Food. If I’m happy. Food. Random date ideas? Travel distances to try new food,” he let out a small laugh after his small ramble. “So you like to cuddle, I see,” he replied back as he scribbled a few tiny notes into his journal. “Luckily that won’t be an issue here.”

“Trying new food. My type. Mh- haha, he chuckled as the other male contestant mentioned holding hands, a feeling of warmth spreading through his chest. “I think comfort and adventure can definitely coexist. It’s about finding the right balance, like you said.”

He thought about it for a moment longer before continuing. “Mmmm I guess I’m looking for someone who feels like home, but also encourages me to step out of my comfort zone? I’m a huge home body and when I’m not at work, I like cozying up in my own space. So late night cuddles and movie dates or just soaking up each other’s company is right up my alley. But also being able to do things spontaneous together is what I want also.”

He nodded along as he spoke before clearing his throat. “As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Is that what you’re doing now?”

@♡ blinded_mouseᵐ He leaned forward, his fingers brushing the smooth surface of the table in his pod. Mouse’s words echoed in his mind, and he couldn’t help but smile at the image of Gus Gus. A light-hearted laugh bubbled up, and he allowed himself to relax, his shoulders dropping as he settled into the moment.

“So you’re saying you’re a foodie with a big heart, huh?” he replied, his voice warm and playful. “I can get behind that. And no, I’m not from We Bare Bears, but you could say I have the same cuddly vibe.”

As Mouse’s questions settled in, he took a moment to consider his answers. He wasn’t used to this kind of openness, but something about the pod and Mouse’s easygoing nature made him want to share more than he usually would. “In my free time, I love exploring new places, trying out different foods – I guess we have that in common. There’s something special about discovering a hidden gem in the city or a new recipe that hits just right,” he started, feeling a small thrill at the thought of them sharing these experiences together.

“And holding your hand while we do it? I’d like that,” he added, a grin spreading across his face as he imagined the warmth of Mouse’s hand in his. “As for what I look for in a partner, I want someone who makes me feel seen, someone I can be my true self with. Comfort is important, but I think excitement is the spice that keeps things interesting. I want a balance of both – cozy nights in and spontaneous adventures.”

Panda shifted in his seat, his mind racing with thoughts of what could be. The barrier between them felt both frustrating and exhilarating, the mystery of it all adding to the allure. He wondered if Mouse felt the same pull, the same curiosity and hope. “What about you, Mouse?” he asked, leaning closer to the wall as if it would bring them nearer. “What do you look for in a partner? And how do you feel about adventure and comfort? Can they coexist?”

@♡ blinded_pandaᵐ When the altered voice came through from the other pod, Mouse smiled, his dimples forming shallow craters on both sides of his cheeks. So the wall speaks. The man allowed his body to relax, his back melting into the soft cushion when a low chuckle escaped him. “Ahh.. Let me think… I might be more of a Gus Gus. I’m a lot less wittier in person. And I love food and have a big appetite. Now if I didn’t know any better, are you part of the cast of We Bare Bears? You might be on the wrong show, mister.” His initial impression of Panda was that he was quiet yet very lovable whenever he was around. He didn’t expect the playfulness that exuded from him now that he was speaking to him directly rather than in the chat rooms. It was rather adorable.

Mouse drummed a beat onto his knee after taking a sip of his drink. “Let’s start off with something easy and then something a little more in depth? What do you enjoy doing on your free time? Your answer should include holding my hand just so you know.” He teased and cleared his throat after deciding the line was much too cringe now that he said it out loud. “Anyway— to add to that— What kinds of things do you look for in a partner? Do you want to be comfortable? Or would you prefer excitement?”

@♡ blinded_mouseᵐ panda stepped into the pod, the door closing behind him with a soft hiss. he took a moment to take in the small, dimly lit space, feeling the excitement and nerves swirling in his stomach. the pod was cosy, a comforting sanctuary where he could let his guard down. he settled into the cushioned seat, feeling it envelop him like a warm embrace. with a deep breath, he reached for his mug of tea, the familiar aroma of chamomile and honey bringing a sense of calm.

he adjusted himself in the cushioned seat, feeling a mix of excitement and anticipation. he leaned forward, eager to engage in conversation with his unseen companion. this was the moment he had been waiting for, the opportunity to make a genuine connection, even if they were physically separated. with mouse’s greeting, his excitement grew. he could sense the nervous energy in mouse’s voice, almost mirroring his own. “hey there, mouse was it?" panda asked, his voice warm and inviting. "don’t worry, you're not alone,” he chuckled softly, hoping to alleviate any tension mouse might be feeling. "so, mouse," he began, a hint of playful curiosity in his voice, "are you more of a Jaq or a GusGus?" he couldn't resist adding a touch of whimsy to their conversation, hoping to spark a lighthearted exchange.

@♡ blinded_pandaᵐ Love— Mouse wouldn’t be able to define what it was. How could he when it was such a big, vague concept. That and the fact that his only other relationship was with the girl spilled her blueberry fizz in his hair in primary school. He was sure the only reason she liked him was because his hair smelled like her favorite drink. She broke up with him the next day when he came to school with washed hair. He cleared his throat after he finished settling down onto the couch, leather notebook to his right and a steel glass of booze in front of him. “Yeeellow? Anyone there? I think I’m supposed to be talking to a Panpan right about now?” No matter how many times he’s been in the pods, talking to a wall would forever be awkward to him, especially when he was the first to initiate the conversation. What if the wall didn’t answer back?
