hailing from the closest planet to the sun, mercurians are an underground people, living in a unique tunnel system that protects them from the heat of our main star. the surface of mercury is void of any buildings, plants or animals. the only sign of life are the various holes dug out by mercurians when they work on the surface during mercury's night, safe from the sun. living underground allows them to mine for precious metals and stones (no gems or jewels exist here), which are then formed into various pieces and sold across the solar system. mercurian goods are the goods of commoners, as they are cheap to make and cheap to buy. physically, all mercurians have skin with a light, gold sheen. their clothes are typically the color of tan or brown with gold metal accents, and in the night season of work they don thick gloves and hoods. mercurians also have a thicker skin than most species, which helps insulate heat during the cold night. they do not need water to survive, and rarely have to eat. a mercurian's main food source is ore leaf and rock dust, as, much like a fire, once they have consumed a little bit of nutrients they can run on it for a long time. you can tell a mercurian apart from other species because of their gold or sometimes bronze-colored eyes.
2. VENUSIANS // LOCATION: THE PLANET VENUS
considered the brightest planet in the solar system, venus is closely related to the earth-made goddess aphrodite. about 98% of the population is female, while the other 2% is male. the male population is considered the lowest of the low, and are forced to live in venus' largest crater (known on earth as mead). the main food source of a venusian is having physical contact with any other species (so not plants or animals). the degree of contact further decides how often the venusian needs to be in contact. for example, shaking hands everyday could be enough to sustain a venusian. if they wanted to eat enough without having to do it so often, they could move on to kissing, or hugs. the longest a venusian can go without feeding is a month, and this is when using as the main food source. due to the nature of a venusian's food supply, venus is populated by many love hotels, cuddling cafes, etc. occupations that are normally looked down upon by other species (strippers, professional cuddlers, etc.) are considered normal. moving on, physically, all venusians have deep purple eyes that glow when feeling strong emotions. they are extremely beautiful, verging on ethereal, to the point where they are able to hypnotize other species. some venusians can influence the actions of others through their eyes, although this is a trained skill. venusians are the only species where all genders are able to give birth.

apparently the planet that's most closely related to the earth in size, once having the potential to be quite the same. the species living here is the closest to earthlings, with only a few having the ability to create dust devils. the clothing of those who live on mars seeks to cover the entire body, typically red or dark brown in color, with tight belts and buckles to hold them in place during dust storms. every martian wears a pair of protective goggles (or even a full on mask) to avoid inhaling the dust and dirt. besides the ability to create dust devils (which only a few martians have) they look the same as any earthling. most martians are nomads, moving from place to place as storms can stay in one place for very long periods of time. martian sand from special locations is often melted and formed into beautiful glass jewelry with magma from mount olympus, and then sold in many shops around the solar system.

out of all the planets, jupiter is considered the "leader" with an extensive line of royalty and an impressive range of non-physical abilities. jupiturians are extremely regal, wealthy and above all powerful. the current royal family consists of a king, queen and several children, whom all wear simple white or cream colored headpieces. jupiturian clothing consists of long robes and gowns, all pale in color as if to represent some sort of purity. physically, jupiturians are on the tall side of the spectrum, without blemishes or scars to be seen. the eyes of a jupiturian are pale silver, verging on white. while this may be the "leading" planet among all others, jupiter has the smallest population. all royalty lives in the palace near its gas core, while noble families populate jupiter's four largest moons. commoners live on the other 63 moons. jupiturians, as mentioned above, have a range of abilities varying from telekinesis to mind reading to freezing things. one thing they all have in common is that all abilities are hands off. jupiter is known for having an impressive army, but they try to stay out of conflicts as an example to other planets. unknown to the royal family, there is a resistance of jupiturians that oppose the current state of affairs, hidden in jupiter's large red spot. they have yet to be discovered as it is forbidden by jupiturian law to enter the red spot, including the royal family.
6. SATURNINES // LOCATION: THE PLANET SATURN
unlike other planets, no saturnine actually lives on or within the planet. saturnine residents have taken up base in the 7 rings of the planet, where businesses and homes are located on the floating rocks circling saturn. considering how far the planet is from the sun, clothing is thick and insulated to keep saturnines warm. they are known for also being quite similar to earthlings in size and shape, but can be told apart for their striking, ice blue eyes. all saturnines have the ability to freeze things, as well as manipulate ice. this is why most satunines end up working in the ice carving business, as their works of frozen art are well known throughout the solar system. when visiting warmer planets saturnines have to find ways to keep cold, as they have naturally low body temperatures, and can get extremely sick if they go above a certain threshold. what could be considered fatally freezing for a warmer-climated species is normal for a saturnine, in which they could survive in a simple shirt and shorts combo. saturnines are also well known to blush blue when embarrassed, but you are not to point this out, as it tends to make them angry.
7. URASIANS // LOCATION: THE PLANET URANUS
uranus is where things start to get a little weird. up to this point all species have been solidly physical, but urasians are gaseous beings with humanoid appearances. urasians are known to have long hair (as it's custom to grow it out), and it typically comes in two shades (combinations varying from red + orange to green + blue, and so on). among all the other species, urasians are the friendliest, and are always up for welcoming other cultures to theirs (not to mention they love to show off their own culture). while uranus is also a gas planet, near the core are solid (beautiful) structures where urasians can live, although some choose to just wander the brightly colored gas of the planet. when communicating with other species, urasians will speak "normally," but amongst themselves they communicate in song. when the barely visible ring of uranus is at just the right point, every citizen sings together (this is a special event, and outsiders consider being able to view it a gift). there is no ruler among urasians, and they are very lax without an army or defensive system. like jupiter they are neutral in conflict, but will give help to those who need it as urasians have healing abilities that are activiated by their singing voices. uranus' only alliance is with neptune as they are quite close. when venturing into a warm climate, urasians will not get sick, but their gaseous form will draw closer together, weighing them down and making them almost solid. their skin has a light blue tint.

like urasians neptunians are also gaseous beings, with the main difference being that they appear to have tails instead of legs (like earthen mermaid legends). they are genderless, taking male or female appearances. relationships among neptunians are like bonds, and taken very seriously. when a neptunian enters a relationship with another neptunian, their tails will fuse together. if they enter a relationship with a different species, they inhabit that person's body (as they are gaseous and able to sustain themselves). as mentioned above, neptunians are extremely close with urasians, and treat them very kindly. other species may not be so welcome on neptune as they aren't the friendliest in the solar system. a neptunian's appearance is known to shift when they have moments of extreme anger, with large teeth and big eyes. if you thought you were safe because they're gaseous, think again. a neptunian is able to freeze their nails and teeth into sharp points if they need to attack or defend. unlike other planets, neptune has no homes, and neptunians typically just float around in the blue gas of the planet.

finally, the last planet in the solar system (although not to the earthlings). the creatures of pluto are the least developed among the other species, where most of them are considered animal-like rather than intelligent. about 99% of the plutonian population is made of large, extremely tall rock -like creatures with icy blue grooves in their dense structure. they can freeze anything they touch, and are extremely strong, able to pick up the largest of boulders with ease. the mindset of a plutonian is most similar to that of an earth dog, and has just started to develop more in the past few years. plutonians are peaceful when unbothered, but can be angered if hurt. they are, however, slow to move as well, so it is quite easy to get away if need be. most species, however, don't visit pluto as it is too cold. plutonians as well, cannot be in extreme heat, and are only able to travel between the planets neptune and uranus. a newer branch of the species (this being the roleplayable one) is much smaller than your typical plutonian, and able to survive in warmer climates due to having a fleshy body, rather than a rocky one. as they are still growing, these new plutonians have patches of rocky skin, and bright blue veins running under the fleshy bits. new plutonians have yet to create a set language, rules, etc. and communicate via a telepathy link that, while it can be under-stood by those they wish to have hear it, is not actually formed by any words or phrases.

situated just between mars and jupiter, the asteroid belt is home to pretty much any creature and character type you can think of. it's a place where outlaws and criminals gather to hide from the solar system police and do their dirty business, and considering the amount of available taverns, hotels and clubs it's a breeding ground for trouble. various businesses have been known to be destroyed when certain asteroids are pulled out of the belt by gravity of another planet, so you must choose wisely where to station yourself at. their is also a large black market that moves among different asteroids in the belt to stay hidden from the solar system police, who often make their rounds because of the high criminal activity levels.
