♔- -  SECTORS, ABILITIES, AND MORE

SECTORS
So, as some of you may or may not know, this roleplay is centered around four different sectors. The names are IGNIS, AQUA, VENTUS, and TERRA. Think of them like the houses in Harry Potter. They all kind of come with a general base of personalities, but it isn't set in stone. The following personality traits are the stereotypical sector students.

IGNIS: [ sector one, THE TIGER ] Brash and hot-headed, generally reckless in decisions. But also loyal, spirited and brave. Fire.
AQUA: [ sector two, THE LEOPARD ] Easy-going, almost to the point of indifference. Mellow, fair and calm. Water.
VENTUS: [ sector three, THE PANTHER ] Free spirits, ever changing just like the air currents. Untameable, and potentially unloyal. Air.
TERRA: [ sector four, THE LION ] Blindingly arrogant at times, but mentally and emotionally strong. Loyal to a fault, and very persistent. Earth.

KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE MERELY SUGGESTIONS FOR A GENERAL SECTOR, NOT EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN EXISTENCE.

ABILITIES:
There's actually not much to explain here, since it's rather straightforward. Ignis students can control fire, Aqua students water, Ventus students air, etc etc. However, keep in mind that this is a school for the "troubled" or those perceived as a "menace to society". So, no one should come in with perfect control over their element. In fact, no one should come in being able to make things bigger than small flames, little spouts of water, small gusts of wind, and minor ground movement. Unless, the point is that your character is completely inconsistent and creates devasting things one moment and miniscule things the next. Either way, please keep in mind the experience your character has.

To begin with, all starters can only do minor things. Ignis students will create a small fireball, etc. Aqua students, a steady stream of water, or a sphere of water. Ventus students might be able to create small gusts of wind. Terra students can shift the ground, either up or down or side to side- but only by small amounts.
As they get better at controlling, those same students might start throwing fireballs, shooting out streams of water, creating large gusts of wind, manipulating plants.
They continue getting better, and it's large fireballs, jets and torrents of water, winds strong enough to knock people over, large ground movements (being able to create a temporary wall of dirt ), etcera. Get creative with what you can do with your powers.
And it keeps going, until it hits the point of being destructive, tall flames that shoot up from the ground, rings of flames, complete manipulation over large bodies of water, tornadoes and earthquakes. Mind you, not too powerful but destructive all the same.

We encourage you to think of new ways to use these powers, as long as you don't start god-modding and giving yourself too much power.

SCROLLS:
There are other abilities you can obtain by buying them with activity points. They're all located in the bookstore, and have small descriptions included.

The "Merit Scroll" allows the user to learn a skill specific to their sector. Ignis students learn how to blow enemies back. Aqua students learn to heal. Ventus students learn teleportation. Terra students learn to construct forcefields. However, to ensure that no one gets too powerful, we have included side effects, mainly the slowing of the elemental powers. Once your character learn the extra skill, their developing elemental prowess slows down. So if that's confusing, it's basically just that your character gains this new skill, but starts to slow down on their mastering of controlling the element.

The "Occult Scroll" is the other major scroll. It allows the user to learn an even more powerful ability specific to their sector. Ignis students learn to instill pain illusions in their enemy's head. Aqua students gain foresight. Ventus students learn telekinesis, and Terra students can read minds to a certain extent. Limited mind-reading? What's that? You can see what the other person has "on display". You can read their current thoughts, but not everything that passes through their mind. You can't dig into secrets unless they're blatantly thinking about them, and it requires a lot of concentration to do. However, to once again impair those who seek to empower themselves, you will gain a physical defect with these abilities. Maybe you lose control over a limb, or become a paraplegic.

Buy at your own risks!

OVERARCHING PLOT:
In case the brief description was not enough, we'll break it down here for you. Thanatos is a school for the troubled students, those who make a mess in the normal world. Those students are brought over here, where they are taught how to control themselves and their powers. Either way, the school is seen as a "drop-off zone" for those society perceives as threats and dangers to the common people. These students come in, and they've been up to no good, or can't control themselves. In that way, they are a danger to the world and to themselves.

It's decided that a student council should be put up, and whatever they say, goes. There are no other present authority figures- no teacher in his right mind would come near a group of volatile and untameable students with supernatural powers, after all. So the absentee headmaster picks the most promising individuals, mainly those with a familial connection to him or his advising council, to watch over and teach the current students in the academy restraint. Only problem is that these individuals, the soon-to-be student council, are powerful, and power corrupts.

These individuals are young and intelligent, with powers most would kill for, and they are stuck 'babysitting' problem students that no one wants to deal with. They are at the prime of their youth, and they're stuck at this academy to keep people in line. Eventually their pent up frustrations spill over, and they start to take it out on the student body, most of whom they see as the things binding them to an old academy when they should be out changing the world. Generally, the student council has a dismissive and sometimes downright hostile attitude towards those they perceive as nuisances who can't contain themselves.

Will your character put up with the corrupt student council? Or try and reform them? Maybe even try to overthrow them?

However, your character must be careful around the council. There are no other authority figures besides them, and an outright attempt to overthrow them or insult them will only land your character more abuse from the council. These are talented people, completely in control of their respective powers, with the possibility of wreaking havoc on any person if they so choose.

Currently there are 2 spots open for student council members. I'm not going to say this anywhere else, so only people who have read this announcement will know about it. After applying normally, if you find that you do indeed want to be a council member, proceed to pm Yoona the following application:

character name:
sector:
personality: (altered to be in student council- also, what's their attitude towards the general student body?) you may either describe them or include a writing sample (ic) that shows your character in action if they were to be a student council member.
what's their attitude towards the other student council members? ( are they friendly, distant, disapproving, etc. remember, the student council has to put up an united front. )

The admin will proceed to pm you with "received". Sorry, the openings are not first come first serve. In order for the story arc to work, the student council members do have to be picked rather meticulously.

NOTE:
It's a bit much to take in, but if you ever have questions, just wall post either admin with it, and they'll be happy to help! Password is the second to last letter of your username. Happy roleplaying!
