so i was thinking

little update:  my hiatus came to an end and i finally have more time. my exams are done and man the results are better than i expected. i'm gonna code more and focus on the upcoming ihybrid university rp. stay tuned for 3rd of July.

okay now why i made this blog. this site needs some updates and a few more options. as i have my layout shop i was thinking that a "member-only" and "favorites-only" buttons would be amazing. they would be really useful for shops in particular. it would prevent people from seeing and using layouts without favoriting. for instance, users from aff can effortlessly use a layout without even making an account, not even mentioning favoriting. this is not fair for us, rpr coders. i might be the only one bothered by this, but I've been thinking how cool would it be and how it can make your life easier lmao.

i mean, there are many people letting you know that they are from aff in the comments, but in general i see even more people from there using my layouts and i don't even know if they are following my rules or not removing the credit, like how am i supposed to track? if it makes sense. i mainly have a problem with the users that are not from rpr, i'm making it clear just in case.

then, i see often coders from other platforms getting inspired by our rpr layouts and they don't even credit, which again is not fair. maybe i'm a bit sensitive about this but it's a lot of work and time, you literally stare at your screen for hours, trying to come up with something new. lately it keeps getting harder to come up with something original and avoid being repetitive so there are no conflicts among coders and you remain loyal to your coding style. not like this is wrong to get inspired, don't get me wrong, everybody does that because that's normal hello, but i know the rpr coders and i know how we interact, meanwhile i don't know the aff ones?? i don't know their backgrounds and so on, if that makes sense pt2. and it's even funnier when they think you won't find out that your layout is literally copied or "inspired". and there are a lot of other reason i have a problem with but i ain't gonna rant here, so if you a coder and you wanna rant too hmu.

for roleplays these buttons would be useful too. like- everybody has "favorite" in their rules, right? but as an admin, you can't always check if they favorited or not, first because we lazy and second because it's a pain in the neck and it's extra work. like--- maybe you won't be able to comment before you favorite the rp. or something like that.

*this is my opinion so you don't have to agree.

so yes i think we need those buttons here on rpr too. for me it would be really comfortable to just click it safghafs.

I still am encouraging you to make a thread, blog, an update chapter, anything on AFF itself. You don't HAVE to mention names but you and I both know some of those AFF coders currently piggybacking off your style lmao; it's ridiculous because they are already big names on AFF itself. Also yes, a members-only feature would be lovely. I know countless AFF rps that use your layouts (ones you publish here, not AFF). I can give you at least 10 active rp threads using your layouts rn lol. I don't know if they subscribe or comment but I honestly doubt it.

I think a lot of them (non-coders) do not understand how frustrating this is for us because well— they aren't coders first of all. Many of them believe it's alright as long as they keep the credits but it's so frustrating ESPECIALLY for rpr coders when we don't charge anything, unlike AFF coders. The fact that they can not follow the one rule saddens me but it's no longer a surprise anymore, just disappointment. I think many of them do not even realize that the reason why we even ask for them to comment is for THEIR sake. Personally, I use those "using xxxx" comments as a way for me to collect statistics of which layout of mine is the most popular amongst users as this platform does not have the feature on AFF where the author/coder can view how many people clicked on a chapter page for each layout they publish. So for me, it's simply a way for me to collect data of what they like and what they do yet many still fail to follow it or do not care to follow it.

I'm so tired of these people lmao. Honestly, I think all coders should speak up about this so they don't think we're being stingy es when we literally do not ask for anything in return.

I'm sorry about that thing tho, the thing we discussed on kkt. I wish I could do more to help other than link you to copy cats. It's not like we can approach moderators with these kinds of issues anyway although it technically counts as a case of plagiarism hmn. Funny how rules work.

"first because we lazy and second because it's a pain in the neck and it's extra work." this this me harder than it should jejsjdndkd
but yes omg i agree, im about to open a shop soon and im scared of my work going through this too, once i realized how much work really goes into the codes and how painstaking they can be i suddenly started to understand why coders are so protective over their work djejisisbs

Congrats and weba!! \owo/
And these are valid worries /nods nods
Honestly, for all the ‘sisterhood’, RPR has A LOT of features that lack in comparison to AFF and that’s a big problem :/
But the favourite rule is definitely a good one! OwO Then we don’t have to check every single time if they have favourited the RP

The only thing I can think of is setting it to "friends only" but then you'd have too many people in your friends list?

Unless you're willing to make a second account specifically for coding in order to do that

That way they have to favorite and friend?

.....but then again, how would you advertise that hmmm
