This! Maybe because my #1 otp is Taekai ;u; I usually roleplay Taemin and pair him someone outside of SHINee. Though I have my own same group ships like Taekey.
The best combinations I ever made was Taemin x Eric Nam, Taemin x L, Taemin x Hongki. I always wanted to make Taemin x TOP, Taemin x Yunho and Taemin x Heechul but its always the same types of people face chasing for popular otps. ;;

I don't see why same group would have to be PM as someone who's top 3 parings are same group and I'm not a fan of PM rping (I forget to reply 90% of the time) group rp 99% of what I do and I enjoy my GTOP, JunSeob and KangNam couples a lot I don't only rp that though I've rped a lot of crack ships as well GD x Rain, Nam TaeHyun x BamBam, Nam TaeHyun x GO, GD x Lee Joon, SeungRi x Tao, DongHae x ONew and those are few I ship I've rped tons of GDs without having TOPs or people I ship him with so he'd get with someone who I did not ship him with though that's how I get most my crack ships, I'm working on GD x HyungSeok right now in a rp, never thought of it before but Ima ship it not only because they'd be good together but I like how the rper is making him
When it comes to this it's more on who's rping them, I've had ChanYeol before and as a JRocker not even a kpoper and I'm in a rper he's with a japanese actor, I can't say anything for Woobin since I'm not as formilure with him or at least remember but I'm guessing there are some people out there who would rp him with someone else
Now EXO-L's seem to 90% of the time have EXO get with EXO that I have noticed, I have managed to get a few Taos though as SeungRi and GD course those were friends on here
I'd say you should try to join a new rp and wish for them or just from the start ask a friend to rp them

Yes! Seriously! Like my G-Dragon is taken by L, best choice ever. Like sometimes OTP pairings are good but try to have some variety OTL

I have a few otp pairings, but I also am someone who will happily do random pairings too.
Once I was involved in a Seungri and Hoon relationship, XD And Chansung and Sungjong, Kyuhyun and Luhan, Jinyoung and Jeongmin...
When it's the same group, I find there is often times people try to rp your notp with you. Sometimes I can deal, like with Suho and Kris on QQ, but other times I've made it quite clear that it ain't gonna happen.
I get annoyed too when people try to limit their roleplaying to specific otps etc.
Have a bit of variety. It's much more fun and challenging.
