His family's rumored to have ties to the mafia, but they've never been proven. Lu Han, known among criminal circles as the 'Ice Dragon' is famous for his drug deals. He's never touched the stuff himself, short of the occasional joint, but he knows his way around smuggling. He and his associates were finally caught in an intense standoff between them and the police. He gave himself up, but a few of the others were killed. Han had a short stint in prison before his sentence was reduced due to his parents' desperate appeals. The academy is his last chance to turn his life around, and it's put things into perspective for him.
