To inherit the blood of a dragon was an honor to those of the White Village. such a descendant was held in great esteem, Kija learned. His grandmother told him that the arm he held was the sign that he was descended of gods—great and mighty dragons—and that he lived to serve a great king who would one day return. 

The White Dragon was always blessed with a claw on his right hand. It held great power: it was ten times stronger than what any man was capable of. Its long nails could prove to be useful in all sorts of situations. And, when properly trained, it could shrink and grow at will.

It all excited Kija. the fact that he was so blessed at birth. but fate and honor was... lonely. He was not allowed to play with the other children. His mother had long since passed and his father, the previous white dragon, hated the sight of him.

Perhaps Kija's father grew envious. After all, with the birth of the new dragon, came the death of the old one. Maybe that's why his father tried to kill kija by slashing him across the back while he still had strength left in his claws.  

Kija does not resent his father for his actions. In a way, he understands him. He wears those scars with pride, knowing that, in many ways, his father was just like him now: a servant, passionate to serve a master who never came. 

The return of the Crimson King was something that Kija was prepared for. Deep in his heart, he knew that he had to serve a purpose. So when a princess with crimson hair comes to him, seeking his aid, he is unwavering in beginning an adventure with her.

But Kija was pampered and spoiled growing up. Though in isolation, the Village praised him and hailed him as royalty. He had much to learn about the "real world," and whatever that may seem to be. 

Kija is young, only twenty-one, and was sheltered all his life. He may be naive in the way that he thinks, and stubborn about his views in life, but he is also unwaveringly loyal and his heart longs for comradery and friendship like no other. He is curious, about nearly everything, since he had never seen the world outside the village, and he is eager to learn more about the world.
