TRIGGER WARNINGS: child abuse, murder, death, human experimentation, mentions of suicidal ideation

- minjae never intended to become a villain. after escaping his captors he swore to take them down and end their experimentation programs, but the more he learned the more targets he discovered. his methods for executing his plan involve killing every last one of them and making it as agonizingly painful as possible, hence him being labeled as a villain as more and more politicians, government officials, dirty cops, wealthy elite, etc. wind up dead around the city. unlike some other villains, once minjae is finished with his gola he doesn't plan on continuing his quote-unquote villainous lifestsyle. he's done when the experimentation programs are dead and gone.
- why a prop and costume shop employee for his day job? the plethora of well-made, accurate costumes helps him sneak into places he really shouldn't be ("yes, i'm the new security guard." + "i understand you're having trouble with the plumbing on floor 3, they sent me over." + "mr. lee? i'm officer matthews, are you able to talk for a few minutes?"). he steals the costumes and puts them back when he's done using them.
- one of minjae's first victims was also the only one he really felt for. it was a scientist from the facility where he was kept and pretty much the only person to treat minjae with kindness outside of his twin. this was against the rules of the experiment as minjae's purpose in it was to be "nurtured" negatively. however, despite this scientist being nice to him, they were still a cog in the ugly, disgusting machine that minjae wants to break. so he killed the man, who accepted minjae's wrath as some kind of divine punishment. minjae does not regret this. [ if twin connection is taken up i would love for this to be a point of contention/disagreement between the two of them ]
- [ trigger warning: suicidal ideation ] i do think that when minjae is done with his crusade he might just kill himself, believing that he is the last "bad" piece as a result of the system. he could never bring himself to kill his twin/clone, and besides, he's probably put them on a pedestal because they were supposed to be the "good" one and minjae the "bad" one.

- his code name comes from the informal north american definition of "snake eyes." when used literally this means "a throw of two ones with a pair of dice," and when used as an expression means "the worst possible result; a complete lack of success"
- due to his basilisk gaze ability that he cannot turn off minjae wears an eye covering nearly 24/7; usually a strip of black fabric secured at the back of his head, though sometimes he swaps this out for a pair of sunglasses. if someone asks why his eyes are covered he gives the excuse of having extreme light sensitivity

ability to control and manipulate electricity; sub-power one is electrochemical manipulation, the ability to control and manipulate electrochemical signals sent from the brain to the rest of the body; sub-power two is lightning rod, the ability to call upon any form of electricity (artificially generated, static, natural lightning, etc.) that is in the direct area near him (let's say within 1000ft)

— BASILISK GAZE
ability to paralyze anyone who gazes into his eyes, this effect lasts for an indefinite amount of time based upon certain factors (length of time gaze is held, level of external electrical interference, etc.)

— WEAKNESSES
+ insulators like rubber, glass, wood, etc. render him incapable of using his electrokinesis if he is surrounded by them
+ blocked sight (cannot use his basilisk eyes ability)
+ electricity overload (if he takes in too much electricity it can "fry" his system and render him incapable of even standing)
+ pure water (meaning it does not contain any ions, thus making it unable to conduct electricity; this can act as an insulator/dampener to his electrokinesis powers)
- fragile human body that can be injured/killed like any other human being
- emotional & mental instability (he can lose control of his emotions at the drop of a dime, which can thus lead to rash decisions and actions that may do more harm than good)
- electrosensitivity (specific types of electric signals [tbd] can cause him headaches, dizziness, tingling, and nausea when exposed to them for too long)

- his twin / clone : the two were either born twins that were taken by the government or test-tube babies that were created specifically for the experiments (preferred). the experiments focused on how different "nurturing" styles could impact mutant children. minjae got the "bad" end of the stick and was treated with harshness, indifference, negativity, etc. while his twin got the "good" end of the stick and was treated with praise, artificial kindness, positivity, etc. (though that honestly probably wasn't much better since they were both still trapped in the facility.) would like his twin to be a hero or an outer, and the two rarely see each other after escaping the facility. very strained and complicated relationship. twin disagrees with minjae's crusade as a villain and wants him to stop killing, but minjae refuses to give up on his goals.

- taken: puppeteer someone that wants to be friends with minjae and actually gets him to do normal things like go out for dinner, take walks at the park, eat ice cream, etc. it's all very novel for minjae since even after escaping the facility he went straight into his revenge plan and doesn't try to "enjoy" himself

- looking for a few people related to the experimentation program he was in ! could be victims like he is, could have actually worked on the project or related to the program in some capacity (donations, sponsorships, passing laws, etc.) which would made those kinds of people his targets

- a hero that's been trying to figure out who is murdering all these high profile, important figures and catch them. snake eyes won't let you get close that easily, and though he prefers not to, he will aim to end your life if you intend to stop him

PART ONE : Introduction.
Hi! My name is Melo; you can call me by that or by my character(s) names. I live in GMT-5/EST and you'll mostly see me at random times throughout the day. I do work part-time (hoping to get a full-time job soon), so I'm not always available.

PART TWO : Preferences.
POV & Length: I only use 3rdPOV. My replies can vary in length from semi to para to novella. I do my best to mirror, but don't feel pressured to do the same as long as you give me something I can work with.

Reply Speed: Just going to be upfront and say I'm a slow replier. Sometimes I can reply right away, but more often than not it might take me a few days. If you prefer a faster pace I may not be the best writing partner.

Plotting & Winging: I prefer plotting since it gives me more confidence in my threads, but I am open to winging as well (and sometimes prefer it when my brain is being finicky). Sometimes I post random starters, so if they haven't been claimed by someone else feel free to respond!

Location: Rooms > Walls & Private Messages. I typically reserve private messages for OOC discussions, and rarely roleplay on walls unless I feel the need for our thread to be a little more hidden.

PART THREE : Boundaries.
Please do not "poke" me for a response. I don't make a habit of forgetting replies, and it's more likely that I'm busy or struggling with my muse. That being said, if it's been more than two (2) weeks you can reach out to me.

If you plan to include any rated M or potentially triggering content in our threads you must discuss it with me first. I don't appreciate being blindsided and I will make sure to speak with you about including any such topics as well.

Regarding and romance; I don't typically roleplay these genres outside of my friends or those I'm very comfortable with, but I'm trying to be a little more adventurous lately and branch out so let's just consider them tentatively on the table if we feel like such topics fit into our plot. I'm not likely to plot romance unless we feel like our characters connect, and I don't do threads that are just without plot.
