As a pup, he was abandoned for being the runt in the litter by his mother and was left to die when she moved on with his older siblings from the nest she had built. It was good fortune that a family had gone on a hike and found him whimpering, shivering and hungry and the family had decided to take him in even if he was a wild animal.
He lived with his family for 14 years, growing large and surprisingly people friendly. He was an active pup who found his strength due to human care and involvement and had slowly grown a compassion for them over the years that he grew. A few months after he turned 14 however, the family that had taken him up just got up and left. Yifan wasn't sure the reasons why, but he was left abandoned and chained to a metal post.
