Sungyeon was an orphan who grew up happily in the streets within a group of other orphans. He was always a grateful child, and said his pleases and thankyous, never stole, and never lied. He loved life and every little miracle that happened to him. Being an omega on the streets was hard, and there was more than one occasion where the boy was cornered by sleezy old betas and alphas to be felt up or worse... On Sungyeon's fourteenth birthday he passed out on the sidewalk and was taken to the hospital by a kind passerby. Then and there, he was diagnosed with a degenerative heart disease.
The heart disease shows itself every now and again in unpredictable bouts of weakness; dizzy spells, vomiting, temporary loss of vision and chest pain. The doctors tell him he only has a few more years left to live. But Sungyeon never lost his sense of spirit and adventure. He loves life and everything in it. He attends regular doctors appointments to check his condition, but no one really knows about it. He tends to keep it a secret as the pity of others makes him feel sad. He works hard as a clerk in the library and at a fried chicken restaurant, and hopes to meet an alpha who will make him feel loved. He vows never to have pups, not wanting them to suffer through a heart condition like he has.
