GENERAL GUIDELINES:

Read through the description and rules carefully before anything else. Favoriting the RP is required in order to reserve your character. The admins reserve the right to reject your application if we receive numerous concerns about you, or if you are known to be a problematic user. You (the mun) must also be at least 19 years old to join as the roleplay contains mature themes.

Do not ualise minors. You will be removed and blacklisted immediately if you do.

Due to the nature of the roleplay, we heavily encourage IC drama as long as the involved parties consent to it. OOC drama, however, is strictly prohibited. This goes without saying. You will only receive one warning before being kicked out and blacklisted if we find you causing OOC drama. You are welcome to raise concerns with the admins, but we are not responsible for anything beyond keeping the roleplay a safe space for everyone. We expect you to settle other OOC issues outside the roleplay.

With that being said, please be mindful of the conversation topics in the OOC chat. The room is rated for language only, so refrain from bringing in triggering topics (put a warning if you absolutely have to), overly ual topics, and/or trauma dumps. It is merely a space to casually mingle with your fellow roleplayers. We implement a 3 strike system for this—you will be greylisted (meaning you’re kicked out and banned from rejoining for 72 hours), or permanently blacklisted depending on the severity of your actions. The safe phrase is “lotus eaters’ office”. When you see this, all conversations must come to a halt before moving on to a different topic. Note that this is not the password for your app.

As this roleplay is only open for a limited time, we do not have hiatuses. Inactivity is set to 28 days; we will issue you a warning and you will have 48 hours to clear the sign before getting kicked out. You’re more than welcome to rejoin us any time, but if we suspect you of abusing this rule, you will be greylisted.

You must reply to the welcome message in the CHECK-IN COUNTER and have a profile picture up within 48 hours of acceptance, and a basic profile after a week of being in the roleplay. It doesn’t have to be detailed; you just need enough information to start plotting and writing with others. Failure to do either of these will result in you being kicked out and greylisted.

PM the admin character when leaving. Do not comment on the roleplay or leave without notice — doing either will result in an immediate addition to the blacklist.

The admins reserve the right to modify any of the rules as they see fit. While we will notify everyone of major changes regarding the rules and/or roleplay, we encourage you to come back to the rules every now and then. Please speak to the admins should you have any questions/concerns.
ROLEPLAYING GUIDELINES:

We will be open for only seven (7) weeks after the official opening date. The IC calendar starts on a Monday; one OOC week equates to one IC day (i.e. the IC day will be Tuesday one week after the opening, Wednesday after two weeks, and so on). This is just to give you a general sense of time in the roleplay to avoid confusion, but you don’t have to strictly adhere to it. All we ask is that your threads take place before Sunday.

If you are a guest, you are only allowed to change your hotel suite once. This is done in the MANAGER’S OFFICE. While we obviously discourage bubble roleplaying, you are more than welcome to have pre-plotted connections for the sake of room arrangements. Each suite houses a maximum of four (4) people. Unlike dorm arrangements and the like, we ask that everyone intending to share a room consent to it as no one would want to share a hotel room with strangers! Alternatively, you may also choose to have a suite for yourself and/or have people join you later; just be mindful of the one-time change rule.

We define active threads as ongoing threads with at least two (2) replies per person, making it at least 4 in total. Text and SNS threads do not count. This will be a requirement in the event of an activity check, or if you’d like additional characters. While we try not to be too strict in terms of writing requirements, we expect you to have started/replied to at least one proper thread two weeks after joining. Relying solely on SNS to stay active will result in a strike.

Regarding mature topics: those who are familiar with the original series will know that the show is heavy on its ual themes, to say the least. We don’t forbid this, but must be kept in either PMs or private hotel suites, provided that no outside parties are assigned to the room. This is not a /rated M roleplay so you are also expected to interact with other people as well. Rated IC rooms are for other mature themes that aren’t of ual nature.

As previously mentioned, we highly encourage IC drama! There is no dating/marriage ban—you may come with as many pre-plotted connections as you’d like and this includes spousal ones as well. However, we’d like to stress once again to write with others outside of your circle! The point of the roleplay is to give your character room to develop. We welcome all sorts of interpersonal drama within reason and consent: arguments, fights, infidelity, and even pregnancies (but no mpreg please)! Consult the admins if you have any questions regarding this.

That being said, we don’t allow NPC children in the roleplay. They can be mentioned in passing (e.g. your character tells someone that their child is back home with their grandparents), but they are not to be brought into the hotel itself.
CHARACTER GUIDELINES:

As this is an OC roleplay, your chosen faceclaim only serves as a reference for your character’s physical appearance. You must come up with your character’s own name and background. We require all names to be culturally and ethnically appropriate—racebending is strictly prohibited. Please reach out for help if you’re having trouble with names! Additionally, we also discourage you to use similarly spelled/sounding names to your character’s faceclaim; why settle for the bare minimum when you have so much creative freedom?

Faceclaims and characters must be at least 21 years old. We accept faceclaims of all nationalities active in the entertainment industry unless they are deceased, married, highly controversial/involved in serious crimes, on hiatus from the industry, and/or have explicitly stated that they do not wish to be roleplayed. Character ages may be tweaked by 3 years, but they must remain at least twenty-one of age.

You may apply either as a hotel guest or employee, with a limit on the latter. The only major difference is that guests will receive their own hotel suite whereas employees do not. As the roleplay is centered around the hotel itself, we will not be adding private houses and such. We heavily encourage everyone to utilize our public rooms whenever possible.

We allow up to three (3) characters—first one is free, second one requires an upvote + ad blog, and your third one requires at least two (2) active threads on both characters and another ad blog. You are only allowed one employee among your character allowance. For the final part of your application, we ask that you attach a square b&w icon of your faceclaim.

Up to two (2) faceclaim and other minor changes (names, job titles for employees) are allowed within the course of the roleplay, each. Note that this does not cover major changes such as your character’s background, role (guest to employee and vice versa), etc. If you wish to significantly change your character, you must first speak to the admins and then reapply for a new character upon approval.
RESERVATION + APPLICATION GUIDELINES:

Comment “[faceclaim name] as [OC name] is ready to check in!” to reserve your place. Please make sure that your desired faceclaim is available by checking both our guest and staff directory.

Reservations last for 48 hours, with a 24 hour extension upon request. You may change either or both upon applying, but please let us know either in the comment replies or in the actual app! If your application exceeds the character limit, we recommend you to send it over through Pastebin or Google Docs, or any clickable link.

We may ask you to make changes to your application if it doesn’t suit the roleplay’s premise; this automatically grants the 24 hour extension to your reservation. Failure to comply will result in your reservation being deleted. If this is due to your specific actions against the admins (e.g. refusing to follow instructions, deliberately ignoring the rules, etc.) you will be banned from joining the roleplay permanently.
