a new rule and possible events?

Hey everyone!

Happy new year and thank you for joining this place. Admin duckie and I thought our rules would drive people away. I wanted to ask everyone here a couple of questions.

Issue One
If someone is not keeping up with the rp's standards (examples: giving one liners is one. another would be not giving detailed first responses, rather they are delivering regular/basic first posts), should the admins give a strike? If the person repeats these offenses, should they removed from the rp? I was thinking about this for the past few days because I want the rp to maintain its goals.

If it is decided to kick out people for repeatedly not delivering detailed first or third reponses, pm us when you see this happen. I'm not sure if I want to implement this rule because I don't want to scare off or offend anyone with this. Recently I already had to turn down someone from this place, which made me feel bad for a moment. However, I do these types of things because I want everyone to meet up with good rpers.

Issue Two
Are you guys up for having events around this place? I have a few in mind, some that are listed below. Let me know what you think of them. Also if you have any ideas, comment below or pm the admins.

Event One: Meeting New People/Scenario Time
Anyone who wants to join this event will sign up. Once we have a list of attendees, we will pair everyone up. We will give the pairs a different plot/scenario, which they must play out in the rooms. All the participants will receive about ten to twenty points. Whoever roleplay the plots/scenarios in the rooms will receive a minimum of twenty points.

Event Two: Matchmaking/Blind Dating/Blind Befriending
I'm pretty sure based on the title, you know what matchmaking is about. We'll do the basic pairing up for a week thing and see how things go. Blind befriending is another idea similar to it. We have you meet a new person, learn more about them and stuff. We're suggesting this idea in case taken people want to participate in the rp's events.

Event Three: Let Me Take a Selfie/DP Contest
We will hold a selfie contest. The winner(s?) will receive a certain amount of points. The DP contest is similar, but people's dp are selected according to a theme.

With these events, I hope everyone can meet and connect with new people. I don't want anyone here feeling left out or ignored, so hopefully these things can help bring us all together. Along with this, we'll be uploading the confessions room soon.

I apologize for the amount of words here. I need to get my points across orz Please resepond to this because it will help us make Excellence more enjoyable for you. We are always open to hearing everyone's ideas.

Jinah has read this announcement.

I'm sure I have little to no right to say about those who's giving one liner because I haven't started myself- with the excuse of having flu orz.

And regarding the events I'm up for it though I might be a little bit awkward but I'll do my best

Terribly late, this; but Taemin has read the announcement.

With regard to those events, I like the ideas - with the exception of the matchmaking. I find that there is a great prevalence of such things /everywhere/, and that it usually tends not to work out because of various reasons. The blind befriending bit does sound nice, though. I also really like the scenario idea.

And again, for the rule; I haven't talked to anyone who has done this. And I do think if someone has 'lost their muse', which would ordain such behavior, they would leave. So you might not have to enforce any drastic measures. But by all means, implement it if you'd like to. There's nothing really wrong with it. <3

I think as for the one-liners and the "not detailed enough" replies, people can handle that themselves. Once those roleplayers realize what they do I think they'll either change their writing a bit or they leave the roleplay cause it's not their style. This way you don't have to warn or kick anybody out. And besides this is a detailed 1st and 3rd pov only roleplay so people should know already.

As for the events they sound good. Just not matchmaking, but a blind befriending sounds interesting. It's a good way to interact with other people.

Honestly let the people who don't respond adequately figure it out themselves when that person doesn't answer. Lol we do reserve that right to not answer if we don't deem it necessary/useful, right? idk I haven't really had a problem that that tbh.

I like the first event, though!

In issue one I like it because it may deter people from giving substandard responses. If someone would be offended or not want to join because of such rules then maybe they wouldn't be confident in reaching the needed responses in this rp. At least that's just my opinion. If it's in the rules though then it's clear and has less drama if the responses become inadequate.

I do like the idea of events since it would make for more interaction and would help introduce us all to rpers who share similar styles to us or people we would want to rp with in the future as well.

Rules are rules, luv~ Don't feel bad about implementing them. If someone didn't rise to your standards, it's not because they're a ty rp-er or that you're some dragonlady admin. It's because you had a vision of this place and in order to uphold such a vision, you want the style to be of a certain... I don't know... quality? Lol, I hope that doesn't sound snobbish. But basically, you're doing your part by creating a group and setting the foundation. We must do our part by keeping the group alive and following the rules laid out for us.

Your events sound hella cute, by the way!

I like the ideas that you have planned out! For the first issue, if there are people that are disobeying the no one liner rule, they should receive strikes like you said. Other than that, I don't mind anything else.

i don't mind the first rule, though i doubt there would be anyone in the actual roleplay who'd actually do that considering the application clearly required a roleplaying sample. however, pming admins might be a lil' muddy given that the definition of 'detailed' seems to vary for everyone in the roleplay, especially in relation to firstpov. it's subjective. what i consider to be detailed will certainly differ from the next person.

events are cool. hep hop hooray.

the first one might be a little difficult to execute though given the intention of pairing up roleplayers with those they haven't interacted with before. finding out who's roleplaying with who is difficult, alongside pairing roleplayers with others to suit preferences (say, if they they only do firstdetailed or thirdpov) and selecting a suitable plot that they'll both agree with (/notices people have their strict preferences when it comes to genres.)

i'd prefer if the roleplay strayed away from matchmaking. tbh, matchmaking never works out well given activity. say a week might not be enough for people who lean towards thirdpov. also, keep in mind the ualities of the characters in the roleplay.

i don't see anything wrong or complicated with the third event that prevents most people from joining.

tbh, i probably just made the whole thing sound more complicated than what it really is. :: eunji has checked this out and given her opinion. otl.

about the first issue; it is clearly stated in the rules that you do not accept one-liners/ illiterate repliers. I'd give out a warning to the person, or just kick them out; a rule is a rule, after all. but I'd honestly say the first one sounds better. give them a warning and if they fail to reply with detailed responses after that, then kick them out.

the events sound really fun, my own personal favourite would probably be the first one.

anyways, I've no ideas as of the moment, but I'll let you guys know via pm if I ever think of something.
