there was a time when the sun and the moon clans were in harmony, spread out on the land to cover much ground. they were not separated then, but all part of one clan where they flourished and thrived under the direction of their gods, sun god haesik, and moon goddess dalnim. the clan worshipped whichever god they were born under, but they all agreed that they would not be able to properly thrive without the other. and then the gods disappeared, and the clans fell apart.
solar and lunar wolves became much more segregated, and fighting broke out between the wolves. threatening the peace between them as the children of the gods blamed each other for the disappearance, a war broke out between the newly separated clans. while the war has calmed down in the past thousand years, the clans have stayed separate with possibility of reuniting under both gods as one.
until now.
the cult of the eternal dawn attacked on the fall equinox during the wedding of the solar crown prince, interrupting the proceedings and sending the solar clan into chaos. the city was completely taken over as solar, and nobles were forced to either swear their allegiance to the cult or be taken as prisoner. some solar wolves also had the chance to run away, but many who ran were found and brought back in as prisoners. once the clan was fully taken over with their new prince, seo youngho, now fully in place and settled as the head of solar, they went for the lunar clan.
the lunar clan did not have the numbers to defend their land, and so lee hoseok gathered their numbers and led the retreat up into the mountains southeast of the castle and city. while they were used to the cold weather that the darkness of night would bring them, they were not quite prepared for the harsh winter about to start in the coming months. luckily for them, they found an old cave system where they could make their homes, and a vast valley nestled in between three mountain peaks.
many wolves who were able to get away during the equinox wedding were forced elsewhere. while there were quite a few solar nobles and citizens there to see their crown prince get married, there were also a number of lunar warriors and higher ranking members of the lunar clan who were there to show their support as a peace treaty had been about to be made. as a warrior, choi san helped to gather up the running wolves and formed a third, smaller clan named asteria so they could support themselves all together rather than try to survive alone. they made their way up into uncharted land to the northwest, finding a vast flower meadow with a forest just off the shores of the ocean. this, as many believe, was also the final resting place of haesik and dalnim.

–– rules
one. although this is a self-paced rp, you must be relatively active to understand the lore and the goings-on. though, hiatuses are inevitable, so you can also check the timeline page for huge events to help you catch up.
two. this is a mature rp, all nationalities allowed, so long as you and your fc are 18 or older. you may age them up or down by 3 years, just, again, they must be at least 18.
three. this is a historical rp –– this rp is set in c. 1835 –– so keep the fact that there is no 21st century technology/mannerisms/style in mind when plotting.
four. no ooc drama, bullying, exclusion, bubble rping, or shading will be tolerated in the ooc room or out of. breaking this rule will result in immediate removal, and you will be blacklisted. period. you also must not have any of the three admins blocked so we can post on your wall for inactivity warnings. we do have a private list of blacklisted users. these are mainly people who have been in this rp before the revamp and have purposely started drama or tried to get others kicked out (you know who you are).
five. A dating ban of 2 weeks, a mating/marriage ban of 2 weeks of dating, and a pregnancy ban of 1 month of mating/marriage. pregnancy lasts 2 months of ooc time. move-in couples are fine and loved. if you would like a plot where you accidentally have a child, are a single parent, etc., you must run it by an admin. this also goes for when you reach your ban
six. As this is a mature rp, triggering and mature content will be here, you and your partner must consent beforehand. just don't bring that to common chats, have some courtesy. the only banned topics are and ia. permadeath is allowed, but you must run it by the admins first. if approved, your character will be a banned fc.
seven. one character to start, your second is also free. each additional character has requirements (found in the request room). your first three characters must be from different clans. the admins have the right to deny you a character as they see fit (ie. character hogging).
eight. activity points are only given in plot-driven rooms; to be considered active here is to have active threads. you must gain 25 posts in your first week.
nine. inactivity is set to a week (7 days). you have 48 hours upon being warned to fix this. or, to alternatively fix this, you may request a semi-/hiatus from the admins. you may not post on your wall to remove the inactive sign, that's cheating. if you are kicked from the rp, your fc and their position are open to be taken for a full 48 hours in which you are not allowed to rejoin. after said 48 hours, you are free to rejoin.
ten. there is a strike system in place. failure to comply with rules may result in a strike, if we get enough complaints about you, you will get stricken, failure to fix your behavior post-warning will result in a strike. these strikes are on you as the writer, not as your characters; if you have a strike on two characters, that is two strikes for you. 3 strikes and you will be removed from the rp, minus rule number four.
