Loose soil gives way beneath your feet, leaving darkened footprints behind you along the forest floor as you walk beneath the sun-drenched viridian canopies of trees older than you can comprehend. A gentle breeze kisses your cheeks, soft and refreshing, while above you the boughs dance in the wind. Light that pierces the gaps in the leaves dances around you almost whimsically as you stop to look around you, a soft cracking of twigs in the distance calling your attention.
A second dry branch snaps, this one much closer than before and you stop in your tracks.
It’s subtle but the air around you chills as the sun above you becomes more obscure, graying the area surrounding you. A surge of energy springs to life in the center of your chest and rises up your spine into the back of your neck as your body warns you of an incoming attack. Instinct kicks in and from somewhere deep within you summon your own power. Verdant green magic courses through your veins and settles into your hands at the ready.
