Roleplaying preferences

Wouldn't it be better if a character profile is a requirement in nonau roleplays as well? Also I'm not sure if by nonau they mean that except from the occupation (they are idols) they have to have the same personality too and act like the actual idol? If some roleplays are indeed like that, I find it really offputting to roleplay someone who is real like that instead of just use him-her as a face claim. I prefer roleplays who also require to come up with another name too, it feels far more comfortable to roleplay a fictional character, at least for me. Plus, I understand that we all don't have the same inspiration, taste etc but it always baffles me that there seem to be less interesting characters with intriguing backgrounds and more common characters which in my case doesn't really help to come up with an interesting plot that will have a duality and some plot twists instead of a short termed-kind of meaningless one...-feel free to comment your character's name and the roleplay name if you have a psycho/corrupted/manipulative/dark character they're totally my thing!-

In non-aus you're supposed to portray the idol just as they are irl. Not my thing either, even semi-au doesn't give me enough freedom. Currently I don't have any characters who are evil or sadistic (haven't been in the mood to write them lately), but I love making troubled ones with complicated backstories. We seem to have similar taste for plots, is it okay if I add you?
