yes, mfs can and do lie about their age, but this is a reminder of why we should be checking the ooc age of people we with, for example. i normally put my age and my muse's age (bc ting with minors was/is whole other issue on here) on my profiles (when i have them), and ik others do that too if they're comfortable, but like........ yeah. make sure y'all are confirming before you potentially catch a case. it literally already happened on aff or rpr in the past and the site creator (nichiren) had to go into a bunch of legal because some kids parents found them reading/writing or rping it and tried to sue or wtv. just protect yourself as best as you can and ask before engaging in anything remotely inappropriate or mature. be careful, y'all.

i've been told this person is either a kid or an adult but just some additional information that I've heard so it might not be true. They've been privately doxxing people and trying to get into other user's accounts apparently.

I’ve definitely been a victim of that in the past and I don’t look back on it fondly. it’s weird how some people are so casual with it and even try to go for adults as a minor or minors as an adult specifically. like it’s a bunch of text it can wait and if they’re not actually a minor and doing that that’s even weirder but yk there’s a bunch of those types that ize Asian ppl that crawl around on this site, some discreet, others… :/

i always try to make it abundantly clear in my ooc sections (if people bother to read them because they're usually quite long ;;;; ) on what my age is and everyone needs to be checking, double checking, and triple checking with their partners to make sure they're of age before engaging in any kind of rated or mature content. even something as simple as "mun is 20+" or something will suffice if people don't wanna be specific about it but that's still a very brittle safety net to cling to

I wish it was that easy to do age checks as it is to lie about your age on any website. I'm so upset about this as I didn't know ted with a minor until after they revealed their age and I panicked. So this incident really triggered tf outta me.

mobile and too lazy to edit, but i get the concerns about online privacy and safety when it comes to revealing your age and too. i just think if you're going to do grown up with someone else, you gotta make sure they're also a grown up yknow? nobody is asking for birth certificates or shouldn't be so ejfjsjrkfk just be safe and careful with who you do mature with and check before you get wrecked ig.
